- In the latest gander into the past, a new period drama titled Made in Korea is in the works, journeying us through the 1970s era. Casting has been confirmed for Jung Woo-sung (Tell Me That You Love Me), potentially joined by Hyun Bin (Crash Landing on You) who is currently in talks. With plans to start filming this summer, production is in the hands of filmmaker Woo Min-ho (The Man Standing Next), who worked with both actors in previous projects. [News1 (1), (2)]
- Go Hyun-jung (Mask Girl) and Ryeoun (Twinkling Watermelon) are considering offers for a new series called Namib (romanized title). If they accept, the former will be playing a talent agency CEO who helps the latter chase his dreams, all the while trying to secure her and her son’s future. Directed by filmmaker Jung Da-won (Miss & Mrs. Cops), scripts are being penned by screenwriter Eom Sung-min (Default). [Newsen (1), (2)]
- A tense new poster has dropped for KBS’s upcoming Grabbed by the Collar, gathering our three uncomfortable leads: Kim Haneul (Kill Heel), Yeon Woo-jin (Daily Dose of Sunshine), and Jang Seung-jo (Death’s Game). Airing in the Monday-Tuesday slot following Love Song for Illusion, the crime-thriller premieres next month on March 18. [News1]
- Also preparing for a March release, KBS’s next weekender Beauty and the Pure Guy (previously Beauty and the Devoted) came out with new stills, where we get our first peek at Ji Hyun-woo (Young Lady and Gentleman) and family. Along with costar Im Soo-hyang (Kokdu: Season of Deity), the series has PD Hong Seok-gu (My Only One) at the helm with writing by Kim Sa-kyung (Young Lady and Gentleman). [MBC (1), (2)]
- In the meantime, tvN is gearing up for next week’s premiere of Wedding Impossible, delivering a RSVP reminder in the newest teaser. Starring Jeon Jong-seo (Bargain), Moon Sang-min (Duty After School), Kim Do-wan (Doona), and Bae Yoon-kyung (Unicorn), the rom-com will be leading us down the aisle on February 26. [News1]
- The promos continue on MBC as well for Wonderful World with a new batch of posters and another teaser. Kicking off a new month with a meaty revenge-mystery, the story begins on March 1 with Kim Nam-joo (Misty), Cha Eun-woo (A Good Day to Be a Dog), Kim Kang-woo (Artificial City), and Im Se-mi (The Worst of Evil) headlining the series. I just finished Tell Me That You Love Me and just loved everything about it, not the least Jung Woo-sung so another one with him in it and I'm set to watch it. Hyun Bin would be the icing if he commits to it.

It’s really interesting that so many dramas are focusing on the latter half of the 20th century now - it seems like that was a rare time period to set a drama in before but it’s also possible I just wasn’t aware of them. Are there classics set at this time I should know about?
Namib doesn’t sound particularly groundbreaking but could be really charming. I love watching people chase their dreams and Ryeoun would be great at it!
The more I see of Grabbed By the Collar the more I’m just going to wait and see how the reviews are. I’m not sure I can handle Jang Seung-jo being trampled over by another wife.
Beauty and the Pure Guy? Really? This has got to be one of the worst names I’ve seen lately. It’s not even so-bad-it's-good, it’s just bad.
Excited for Wedding impossible! Even if I have to triage it in favor of other live watches at first, I hope it’s good and cute and worthy of my anticipation.
I appreciate how broody and beautiful and haggard Cha Eun-woo looks in all these posters for Wonderful World but that does not make me any more likely to watch this drama, sorry.

I wonder what kind of drama it will be. The screenwriter has only one film to their (I don't know if the screenwriter is a woman or a man) credit. Individually, maybe they were part of the writing team on something else? This film was about the economic crisis of 1997 and how it affected ordinary people, etc. So it was about a serious issue that led to an economic collapse and destroyed the lives of many people. From what has been said about the drama, it doesn't look like a light story about an idol, which makes it even more interesting.

I am looking forward to WEDDING IMPOSSIBLE.
The stills for the upcoming weekender seem to center around the ML, the titular "pure guy". I do not see Im Soo-hyang in them. Curious.
