Day 11 – your 2020 crush

He didn’t have a big part or a lot of scenes. He didn’t even show up until the very end. But when he did appear, something amazing happened: Kim Eun-joo truly smiled for the first time in 14 episodes.

So my 2020 k-drama ML crush this year is Yoo Min-woo played by Kwon Yool from My Unfamiliar Family.

There’ve been some swoony MLs this year – Captain Ri, a snarky gumiho, a pole-dancing Interpol cowboy and a pop-up bar manager were all in the running. But the man who can that can make Kim Eun-joo laugh is the man for me.

    I would so gladly watch a spin off with these two!!!

      There is a part of me that would happily welcome a season 2 of this drama. There’s still a lot there with this family that they could mine as they showed them continue to evolve as people and as a family.

      This is the only thing I’ve seen him in, but I’ll be seeking him out more!

        I’ve seen him on Let’s Eat 2, One More Happy Ending and Let’s Fight Ghost (villain). His role is short in MUF but I love his character! He is very versatile. He can be the charismatic second lead or main lead (hopefully soon!) but he can also play a psycho.

    I never like Kwon Yool – and hated his clingy SML in One More Happy Ending – until his refreshing take as YMW in My Unfamiliar Family. For a character that only shows up in the last two of a 16-Ep drama, this is impressive.

      Totally agree – though he has such little time in the show, he definitely punched above his weight.
