#Navillera is so good. The depiction of Chae-rok’s possible depression, the limitations of old age, the potential for friendship, family and healing regardless of one’s age, and the universal message of allowing one another to just be who we are, and so much more. The first two eps definitely moved me. I’m fully invested in these characters and their lives. Storytelling at its finest.

Also, as a Song Kang-focused aside, he is – I think – maybe overdoing some of his acting. From expressionless most of the time, to outraged when he learns he has to teach Deok-chul – the difference between the two states is too vast. But he’s totally won my heart here as well! Could perhaps be my new favorite actor? (among the younger ones)

I really like this drama, too! So far, anyway.

My only complaint: I hope they don’t introduce a romantic plotline involving Chae-rok and Deok-chul’s granddaughter. I just want Chae-rok and Deok-chul to be friends/surrogate family, without any of the complications coming from a relationship between Chae-rok and Deok-chul. (Also, does every drama need a romantic subplot?)

I can tell this one is going to be a gem.
