#2021RoundUp

Best idol turned actor

I know many of you expect me to say Junho is, but I’m terribly sorry to disappoint you, because he’s not an idol turned actor. Lee Junho is an actor. Period.

So my choice here is Sooyoung. Amazing Choi SooYoung. How much I loved her Dan-ah in Run On and her GeungYoung in So I married an antifaz is something only my dearest Lakes knows. She turned both characters into gold. It wasn’t complicated with DanAh but, hey, GeungYoung was a much harder task, yet she did it. Both characters turned out human, and funny, and vulnerable, and real because of her. I am now a devoted fan.

On the other hand and in the category of worst actor turned idol I have a technical tie between Choi Taejoonm in So I married an antifaz wondering what the hell was cast director thinking by choosing him as an idol when he can sing but not move (OMG, he was so rigid!!) making it too funny to have 2 out of 3 leads real idols and not choosing one of them as the fictional one; and Jung Ji So in Imitation as I never believed not even for one second that she could ever be an idol. Loved the drama, but she could never make me believe she can dance.

Imitation : I didn’t really like this drama because of her actually. She wasn’t credible in this role at all and I don’t know if it was because of Doom at Your Service, but I found the actress kinda weird in her way to speak.

I liked the drama a lot mainly because how adorkable was Kwon Ryeok, but the girl’s group was a big no for me, only Minseo was believable as an idol, because the other two were just… do you really want to make me believe these two are part of a trio that is going to break the hit lists???

It’s funny, for once, they could choose an idol (they’re plenty of them) for the main role, they took someone who clearly couldn’t dance…
