Being a friend is hard and although I’ve been aloof here, I’ve been trying to be a good friend in my live life. As such, I brought back freethekimchi, my kdrama group I started in 2017. Watching a movie with my kdrama mamas, as we all needed some Kim Young Kwang therapy this night. And it wouldn’t be a kimchi meeting without food—a charcuterie board with some homemade kimchi, bulgogi air fried wontons and shrimp tempura with cream cheese. And three bottles of wine to wash it and our stresses down!
Relationships—one friend is going through a divorce/separation. We watched the movie Mission Possible, kind of—but it was really just about being there for each other.
🥹 I wish I could have something similar. My friends are being awesome about my current Life Situation, but (a) none of them is into kdramas/movies and (b) none of them has offered a charcuterie board like that one. That looks like it has magical healing powers.
Mission Possible has been on my list for ages. I need to prepare some charcuterie and get down to it. What will you watch together next?
You should invite them anyway! I was on ONLY person into kdramas of my friends in 2016, and after I played some Goblin OST music during one of our dinner parties, and then talked to them about the show, they all wanted to see it! So began a group watch and blog at my house. The rest is history. One of them and her husband took a pilgrimage to Canada with me and husband to see the goblin filming sites and eat great food—again, I blogged about that too! It’s been a long time since we watched something together though. The pandemic and life got in the way. I will need to do this again soon because a couple people couldn’t come! I never know what we’re watching until a day before. I honestly can’t say we actually watched the movie, so I may just play it again!
