I’ve liked UEE ever since Ojakgyo Brothers. But now after finishing Marriage Contract, I am her FAN. She is such a gem. Not a sad drama fan, but Marriage Contract is a good one.
I think UEE works best in a family drama or melo setting. Maybe experienced co stars help lift her up. Because even I was convinced that she is a great actor after Marriage Contract. But then came Manhole and it didn’t work out there. She just poured her heart out in MC and was in the hands of a good director. I don’t know how she is doing in the family dramas she has been doing recently but I think that is her territory not rom coms.
The problem I have with Netflix at times is the soundtrack. I watched knowing bros and suddenly they were dancing to random music (i think instrumental music) instead of a kpop song. Haha
Yes basically it can be your co stars, story, direction but a great actor will still shine through if any of this goes wrong. UEE was great in MC but everything else in that show was too.
Hogu’s Love is one of my favourite dramas! It seems a bit over the top at first, but if you stick around, the story and characters are actually really sweet. Hogu is a breath of fresh air, he’s quite different from typical male leads.
I definitely think family dramas are her thing, but “Marriage Contract” definitely is a stand out for her acting career overall thus far (girl has so many years ahead of her!!) and definitely a gem 💎 I think “Marriage Contract” also having Lee Seo Jin as her co-star— and this also being one of his breakout performances— also really helped 🤗🤗🤗❣️❣️❣️ Ugh I could gush about this drama any day, any time, any where, and some needs to stop me every time that I get the chance to gush about this drama or else I won’t stop 😅😅 I just love it and it’s just so dear to my heart ♥️
Though I’ve heard quite a lot of praises for this drama, I just got a chance to binge-watch it two days ago. It really lives up to the hype! Both leads’ performances are just great, love their teary eyes and ready-to-order tears. The little girl is also adorable.

Jbtw did you watch MC on Netflix? I am planning to rewatch it but I’m wary Netflix might have destroyed the subs.

Ah yes, did watch it on Netflix. Everything was ok though. I haven’t really had any problems with Netflix subs so far.

She was good in Hogu’s Love, a rom-com! Not as good as Marriage Contract, but still memorable. Sometimes casting also matters, aside from genre.

Really? I should try Hogu’s love then. Think I’ve seen it on Netflix also. UEE was also good in My Husband Oh Jak-doo btw.
