Oh, I saw only that remake on DVD. It was a time when I was binge watching Keanu Reeves movies while one day off. It wasn’t the best so I should check the original. I don’t think there was one Hollywood remake I liked. They’re all the time lacking something.
Somehow Lake House did not quite capture the wistful tone of the original. I thought Il Mare also managed to convey the time slip/parallel universe/time glitch thing better.

If there’s one movie that I can re-watch endlessly, it’s Il Mare.

Il Mare is a quietly lovely film. What do you think of the 2006 Hollywood remake with Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock?

Il Mare gives off a gentle breeze. Quietly lovely seems perfect description of the film ^^.
Honestly, I love the korean movie so much that I didn’t want to watch other versions anymore.
