    Sic,
    I thought this was also a reference to Prince Sado and the court ladies that he killed.

    Yes, I I believe that the Korean film, A Tale of Two Sisters (2003), was a modern take on the tale.

      Yes, it was :).
      That was the first Korean horror/drama film that I saw.

    Ahhh Kiara I really wanna join in the fun! Reminds me of Yi San!
    I’ve been away from kdramaland for a while and this looks like the comeback for me, but I’ve got exams till January huhuhu

    Btw did you see this really neat detail Mimi spotted on her Twitter! https://twitter.com/muchadoboutlove/status/1459404076697804800?t=ZE48Q4KFMbEPM3X4nQ-3WA&s=19

      @peony

      Do join us when you can! This is an interesting take from a court lady’s perspective.

      Thank you for sharing! Mimi is such a history geek; I love her and her blog.
      Ohhh, I had no idea King Jeongjo’s talents went beyond his calling as a king. But I guess it makes sense for a writer and a bookworm. Lol.

      Best of luck with your exams!!!!

        I’ve already watched episode 3 and I’m craving for episode 4.

        I wanted to ask you.. have you seen the movie with YAI as Prince Sado? On one hand I want to watch because YAI is always the best, but in the other hand I know how painful it can be…

          Yes, I’ve seen THE THRONE. It’s close to the actual history, so it’s painful. It’s one of those films that I’d only watch one time.

            I had this feeling. Thanks. I will probably watch but when I am in the right mood…

            I’ve watched it twice. I guess I really am a sucker for punishment. LOL

          There is a really beautiful moment where So Ji Sub, portraying King Jeongjo, dances in front of his mother. It is the final scene of the film. The music is so sad.

            Yi San’s dance was my favorite part. That was the light at the end of the tunnel.

            @kiara,

            His dance scene was very powerful.

            “That was the light at the end of the tunnel.” I like this. πŸ™‚
