Well, after becoming a PMR convert, I need more Sung Hoon and re-watch Five Enough….

Sorry to say that, he’s more swoony with Shin Hye-sun in FE. I never get tired of that couple even they are not the main leads.

Five Enough (or Five Children) is a family weekender, and hence 50+ episodes, about the second marriage of a widower and a divorced woman from courtship to getting married living with their combined five children, plus the hijinks of the new in-law families. It’s a very good weekender with some beanie fans. Perhaps @oldawyer as our in-residence-commentator on weekenders could provide his feedback on this drama.

Sung Hoon and Shin Hye Sun are only the 3rd or 4th billing couple in this drama but they definitely stole the show. Shin in particular shines brightly. Their story is very simple but super adorable laced with diabetics-induced plots and lines. SHS is a shy and timid school teacher with unrequited love in her college crush who falls for her friend. SH is the said crush’s older brother who’s an ex-model and now a pro golfer. They met when a drunken SHS mistook SH’s chauffeured driven car as taxi. That sets off SH’s relentless pursuit of our lovely Yeon Tae (ie SHS’s character). Their story only starts from Ep 5 and as a teaser, you can watch a few clips:
        1st encounter from around 44 min: https://youtu.be/_2J9V2Jm-Q8?si=t2DWc8RkiCWuwuSi
2 nd encounter around 52 min in Ep 6: https://youtu.be/_2J9V2Jm-Q8?si=t2DWc8RkiCWuwuSi
        3rd encounter by 12 min in Ep 7: https://youtu.be/qS1JCBAJDm4?si=Is55bBj_dbjfWKTM
4th encounter plus some family context for both – 25-38 min and from 52 min: https://youtu.be/fF1bbrtbJu8?si=TXa8nTSRS5RIFrvs
By now, it’s hard not to fall for the Sang Min-Yeon Tae couple. And it’s easy to use FF mode to watch them.

The whole drama is at KBS World TV with Eng sub at YT. There are also many fan-edited playlists devoted to Five Enough Sang Min Yeon Tae or Five Enough Sung Hoon Sun Hye Sun. For example, the ‘Sang min + Yeon tea’ by Melody Doliente that has 37 clips, each 2-4 min, including their appearances on variety shows.

        Enjoy!!

PYC! Thank you so much.. I am saving this post. It gave me the courage to start the drama. I did watch Ep 1 and was a solid start. Of course, its a weekender and some FF was needed. But I liked the premise of adults getting. second chance in a relationship. so many familiar faces already!
This is good timing, since I have nothing on my plate until new dramas air..

FIVE ENOUGH is also available on Viki. I have watched it in full all the way through and enjoyed it- it is one of the best weekenders. That said, I have also re-watched it several times using the FF button simply to watch the wonderful story of the Golfer Couple (Shin Hye-sun and Sung Hoon) which is by far and away the best part of the drama. From their first encounter with the least cute meet cute of all time through their wedding it is one of the all-time best romances ever in a K-drama. You simply fall in love with this couple. Go ahead and fall in love- it’s all right.

FIVE ENOUGH is well worth watching and I cannot recommend it more highly. It is one of the best weekenders, along with ONCE AGAIN., FATHER IS STRANGE and the much earlier SMILE YOU. It was also highly successful: When a show gets ‘bonus episodes’ that is happening because it was a hit (and that is why it has fifty-two episodes rather than ‘just’ fifty).

I meant fifty-four episodes, not fifty two.

@oldawyer you nail it so perfectly about Five Enough as a drama and the adorable Golfer couple. I too frequently FF rewatch the parts of this couple. They are the remedy of any bad day!! When searching the clips for @mayhemf last night, I ended up watching more and more – will continue tonight. Their interaction is pure gold and role model for any romcom which should be simple and concise.

Blue, trust you will like it as much as we do.
