I checked my comment in the last ep of Chicago Typewriter which was about 2-3 years ago, and was amazed at how there were so many people commenting on the thread. Where are those ppl nowadays???
If I say for myself, I don’t read recaps now. I’m only here for the fanwall and beanies. Also it’s been long since a show has got me that excited to discuss it with others. I think trickier shows get more comments because it’s fun reading everyone’s theories about them, most shows these days aren’t doing that.
I see your points. I also notice that some recappers are doing too much work these days. Look at missvictrix for example. I remember seeing her name everywhere, and I always wonder why she has to take on that much work. Is DB running out of recappers? That will affect the contents. Does it really have low budget for running the site?
I understand why they’re trying everything they can to get more Beanies subscribe to their Beanieboxes or donate, but I also feel like there should be other ways to make the payment not feel so much like an obligation: Being committed to paying for the site every month feels a bit.. too committed.
I don’t know about others, but I comment less than I used to because by the time recaps are posted, I’ve either discussed the episode on the fanwall or forgotten what I had to say about it.
Yes, you’re right. I don’t want to name the shows and the recappers, but what you said is right. I was once watching a very engaging show, but the recapped waited for so long and she posted the recap just a day before the next week’s episode began. I already forgot everything by then, and because I didn’t remember much I didn’t want to read recap because I would have to read EVERYTHING again. And there would be much fewer people to discuss points with.

I don’t see many veteran regulars either but I also feel that people comment less now.

I wonder why it’s like that… It’s always fun if there are a lot of comments, like we are really talking to one another.

Last time I checked, they had a one time payment option. In fact they have many payment options now, you can have a look again.

Some of us are too overwhelmed with things right now. I’m way behind and watching only two shows.

I miss you mugyuljoie, but knowing that you live in NYC I guess everyone is still following the election news. Make sure you’re not stressed out.

I’m actually in the opposite corner of the country, and yes, it’s been stressful.

Oh really I must be mistaken 😅. Anyway, things will be better; at least I think the situation there should be better than in my country. 😂
