22 Days to a more grown-up Yoo Seung-ho
by | October 13, 2008 | 14 Comments

Speaking of young boyish actors who have been growing up rather well, let’s add 15-year-old Yoo Seung-ho to the mix. (The guy shot to fame in last year’s Legend playing Yonsama‘s childhood self.)

The teenage actor has been cast as the lead in the thriller 22 Days, which is being adapted from the novel of the same name. The plot surrounds the murders of two orphanage children who are killed in the same way, and follows the police detective as he chases down the killer.

Yoo Seung-ho plays an orphan brought up by nuns who may become the next victim of the killer, and Yoo and his management are looking to emphasize a more adult image through the role: “Currently, he’s rehearsing the screenplay and working on character analysis. You can expect him to show a different side to the image he’s shown so far.”

You know how I said Kim Bum was the big draw for me in early episodes of East of Eden? Well, Yoo Seung-ho was the equivalent of that in Legend, holding his own (and sometimes more) against actors more than twice his age.

The film is still casting, but will likely start filming in November.

Glad to see the younger generation of actors developing well. I’m always apprehensive when it comes to child actors (too many stories of adulthood gone wrong) but it looks like these youngins have a good sense of direction.

He was always a great actor , even when he was younger.

idk, these days it sems like children have greater talents than many audlts these days.
(esp in East of Eden. I am sick of watching the adults. I loved how the children portrayed it. gah. its annoying now)

Hmmmm, I thought his acting in Legend was really good. It was during the times when I also like the little guy acting in Yi San as the young prince. Now I’m currently liking MGY in Painter…

It’s funny how all these growing amateur actors/actresses are better than some that are considered veterans.

    :D

ahhhh i love seungho. whenever he stared in a drama as a younger version
of leads his performance was spot on. i loved him in legend too.
sometimes, i liked his parts more than BYJ’s (BYJ fans dont hate)

but that aside, i will look forward to that film.
    i wanna see him more.

i agree with u, he is like kim bum as well…

I definitely watch it. I wanna see his acting more as the main lead. His acting in Heart is with another child actress Kim Hyanggi makes me and my mom cry a river.
