Just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in.
Days after a teaser video was posted online (watch below) without explanation, which has been stirring renewed interest in the romance drama Boys Before Flowers, the official announcement has come for the “five years later” story touted in the clip:
A 25-minute “music drama” (read: extended music video) will wrap up the F4 saga in omnibus format, featuring the four F4 members played by Lee Min-ho, Kim Hyun-joong, Kim Bum, and Kim Joon five years after we last left them.
This “F4 Special Edition” MV, which was filmed in secret, will be unveiled online at Mnet.com on April 28. It will also feature songs sung by each of the F4 members (the previously announced special edition OST).

To be perfectly honest, I’m kinda over it. I had my fun, thoroughly enjoyed my time spent with the drama, laughed tons and don’t regret any time spent on Boys Before Flowers. That said, I’ve moved on and all this constant dragging-out and promotional tying-in just feels unnecessary. (I know, I know, where money’s concerned, it’s never unnecessary.) I may watch it, but I don’t particularly care to see what happens — and music videos like this always feel fanfiction-y, rather than “canon,” so it doesn’t have the same narrative impact either.

I felt the same way, that is until I read there was going to be this 25 minute music video/drama. So I”l say I thought I was over it, but I’ll probably look for the video when it comes out.

During the 2nd half of BOF I just watched for the SoEul couple and the rare scenes featuring Kim Joon. I hope he at least gets his share of screen time in this music drama (w/e that is…I’ve never seen one).

I’m actually glad they’re doing a 5-yr thing, but ONLY if it wraps up everything neatly….Jundi wedding (hoping a glimpse of little Jundi^^), SoEulmates wedding, JH with a nice girl and prince Song with another girl too…..everybody happy, happy so I can move on……The ending of ep. 25 was not satisfying for me AT ALL!!!!!
I’ve actually been avoiding the BOF thread at soompi because of too much memories (hahaha) and wouldn’t have known about it if Kireta didn’t break the news in aja-aja shoutbox^^…..the BOF thread has been strangely quiet….maybe because not many people know???

oh my.. this is good.. i hope this brings closure to my BBF madness. after watching the last episode of BBF i have not found any drama to actually divert my excess energy to.

i’m not gonna lie. i was kinda hoping for a 5 years later season 2 or even a movie like they did in the jdrama (even if the movie did kinda suck all the magic out of the jdrama imho). still, i’m happy to get to see the boys again since i was really happy to see the SoEul Guardian CF. i’ll take what i can get…
and is it just me or is WooBin looking better and better? i didn’t think much of the extraneous member of F4 (as i thought of him) but the further along the series got, the hotter he looked to me. and have you SEEN him in the Andre Kim “fashion” show pics?!? almost melted my laptop!

The story line has always been my favorite.
From Meteor Garden to Hana Yori. I think I watched Meteor Garden 7-8 times already with my mother… hahahaha..
Yes my mother is into it also… although Full House was her all time favorite.

pfft….you guys are crazy, i’m so not over it. I can’t help it >_< I never really liked the drama that much while it was airing but when it ended I was like, wait, what?!?!??What do I do with my mondays and tuesdays now??? I just hope this music drama is good, and hopefully doesn’t only consist of the f4.
they’re totally milking this drama’s for all it’s worth. Even though Jandi was annoying, it would feel empty without her.
Based on the godawful music in that promotional clip, it is nice to know that the BBF production team has clung onto its unimaginably lousy taste in music.

I am in–cringes and all–just cause I like watching train wrecks in slo-mo. I imagine that Jandi’s absence will be excused through some tale of her being off in some distant land ministering to the poor and the Iraq and such as, leaving the path cleared for the F4 to do their thing.
I don’t blame the K-team for milking this, although I wish they had gone the J-route and put out a fun, light movie instead. Fun, light? What’s that, asks the K-team.

Hmmm again they’re here and tomorrow there not…hmmm strike while the iron is hot….nothing much new with the video its the same like Meteor Garden and Jap Hana Yori Dango they have their own special edition remember the meteor rain and hanayori movie …it is expected and surely this wont be the last considering there high profile. Let’s hope for some uniqueness or something different in their coming projects.

Yeah, they are trying to make the most of it, like you said, it was great and all (especially in the beginning, getting really absurd in the end, i’m not complaning about the ending, just how the story turns out in general) but people really need to move on

I’m actually interested with the songs F4 will be singing than the music drama itself. I was surprised with Kimbum’s singing when I saw a fancam during his fanmeeting. And Kim Joon’s singing~! I like his singing voice as much as his rap. lol.

I’m not gonna lie, I’m totally looking forward to this music drama since I wasn’t really satisfied with the ending of BBF. I would have preferred a movie to a one episode music drama to tie everything up, but I’ll take what I can get at this moment.
