Kim So-eun quits murder mystery movie
by | June 30, 2009 | 20 Comments

I was interested in seeing Kim So-eun (Boys Before Flowers) acting alongside Yoo Seung-ho (Legend) in their school-set murder thriller movie Fourth Period Murder Mystery [4교시 추리영역], but it’s been announced that Kim So-eun has dropped out mid-project. The reason cited is that her schedule is too packed with filming for her currently airing drama, the Korean remake of The Man Who Can’t Get Married, which also stars Ji Jin-hee and Uhm Jung-hwa.

She’s not the only one bowing out; the director has also undergone a change as the original director Shin Dong-yub (writer of 100 Days With Mr. Arrogant) has left to be replaced by Lee Sang-yong, who got his start filming CFs. In Kim’s absence, new actress Kang So-ra will be stepping in as the new female lead.

That’s too bad, but with Yoo Seung-ho still attached, the movie still has my interest; its story unfolds in real time after a murder occurs at a high school, and students race to find the culprit within an hour. Although it was initially set for a July premiere, with the last-minute changes, the new release date is not yet decided.

I also looked forward to seeing her in the movie, so I was a bit disappointed. It also had Yoo Seung Ho, and it would have been fun seeing them together since they are both in The Man Who Can’t Get Married.

Hopefully we’ll be able to see Kim So Eun in another movie soon.

i heard that the director left first and because of that they will have to reshoot alot of scenes in the future even though like 60% of the scenes had already been done.. and thats why she dropped out? and the director dropped out due to lack of funding? … sigh.. .this movie seems to have more downs than ups so far .

by the way. cant wait for your triple 6 review! just finished watching the ep and its gotten exciting!

I was looking forward to see this movie too. 🙁

Yoo Seung Ho is in TMWCGM? Will he be in future eps? I haven’t seen him so far.

@biscuit i think you mean yoo ah in?

it always strikes me how tiny her forehead is..

    Woops, my bad.

@Snikki. Sorry, I mistook him for Yoo Ah In -__-

When you said you didn’t see him so far, I was like “waahhhh…… he was there from the beginning…?” and went to double check. I can’t believe all this time I thought Yoo Ah In was Yoo Seung Ho o.o *hits head on desk*

‘Am I the only one who thinks they look like they could be brothers? (Unless due to the fact they have the same last name and look similar, they could be long lost brothers…)

lol it’s sad, but why can’t she just do it during her free time? the second pic makes her eyes look funky

well, i think she shouldnt accept that project in the first place, when she knew the filming are done on the same time with her drama. greedy much?

I watched the first 2 episodes of The Man Who Can’t Get Married and I’m liking it. I like her on that drama too. She is so pretty there. Such a breathe of fresh air 😉

she already filmed 70% of the movie but they suddenly changed the director so they have to reshoot everything so you cant really blame her… its the producions fault..
she need to focus on her drama now (He who cant marry) which is so funny btw..

Interestingly enough, Rainie Yang, who played Shan Cai’s sidekick in Meteor Garden (Taiwan’s version of BBF; Shan Cai’s the TW version of Jan Di), also shot to fame. 🙂

Its a little unprofessional but if she doesn’t have any time then its the productions fault for having such bad management, re-shooting would be such a pain.

Oh and Rainie is a good actress and has been in more than one successful show, Kim So-eun still has to prove herself.

At first glance, yes, they kinda look alike. But not at closer. 🙂

oww the blame goes to the prodruction..lyk why the director hav to leave @ the last moment, its definately not her fault, she is doing the drama now..
poor her,her all hardworking goes to vain i was lookin forward to this movie only for her…

I’m also looking forward to see those two acting together. I was very excited when I saw their pictures in google. But I’m very disappointed when I watched the movie in youtube and suddenly a different actress came out. At first I’m very confused because I believed that those two were acting together in fourth period murder mystery. I even searched in wikipedia but I found no answer. At last I found this page. However, Yoo seung ho’s acting with Kang So Ra is not that bad. 4th period murder mystery is an awesome movie.
