Breaking News: It has just been deemed that Rain has probably lied about being at least TWO CENTIMETERS taller than he actually is.

Rain was captured in the photograph below with Runaway co-star Lee Jung-jin, off the set while in Japan. This has spurred some controversy with netizens who have pointed out that Lee Jung-jin’s profile says he’s 183cm, while Rain has always touted his 185cm height. Clearly, someone’s not so good at math.
Fans who have actually met Rain in person are putting up comments that he’s at least 180cm, while some reports are insisting that it’s the camera angle that’s creating the optical illusion that Lee is taller.
Okay, everyone say it with me now…WTF?
I know that Korean celebrities have all sorts of profile information out there, and that fans feel ownership over such information, but the level of betrayal and counter-support over two centimeters is…just…

Haha this just makes me think about this actress (can’t remember who) in strang heart which says “I’m 33″ an the CM is like “Aren’t you younger” and she just answers “No, I was younger BEFORE but when I changed my agency, I changed the info and took back my real birthdate. I’m pretty sure that it’s theh same kind of issue – the managers were like “OK – we want him to have a hot, sexy, strong image, so he has to be tall. What about addign some centimeters, huh?”
Somehow if that’s really the case, isn’t it stupid from the manager’s side? There’s nothing stated about how you should look like when you’re 29 compared with when you’re 33, so if you put two actresses together, you can say which one LOOKS younger, but not which one IS younger.
But height? Taller will always be taller, and smaller will always be smaller, right? Isn’t it one of the easiest lies to find out about?
Still it’s funny how people react over such a small matter (or a big one? – no as I said size is usually not subjective, and this is SMALL for sure^^). Come on, if he’s 180 and not 182 (or whatever size it is and it’s supposed to be), does it change anything to how he sings, dances and acts?
Oh I forgot: the pavement definitely looks not straight, it’s higher on Lee Jung-jin side, and probably a little bit higher on the photographer’s side.
So yes, the angle probably has some effects. Yet, probably not enough to make rain as tall (not to mention taller) as Lee Jung-jin if there where all at the same level.

They’re constantly on variety shows, interviews, and even have their own shows. It’s all to appeal themselves to fans, and make their fans feel close to them. However, they’re pushing it way too far. Because of all their exposure, fan(girls) believe they really do know the star, and they go overboard over the smallest thing concerning them. I’ve seen Rain many many times. It is strange. When he is by himself ie. not standing next to anyone, he does not appear very tall and looks very very ordinary esp if he’s wearing plain black tee with black jeans. A friend described him as “nondescript” – that was the first time she saw him off the stage.
But when he’s with others, he looks like a giant!

2cm is like less than an inch! I don’t anyone is really accurate about their heights. Two of my friends and I have been claiming to be the same height for years on our forms and licenses, but standing next to them, I am clearly at least an inch taller than them. They think I underestimate my height and I think they overestimate theirs. Maybe both Rain and Lee Jung-jin are both wrong abt their heights.

It is very possible that Rain did not lie about his height.
He and Lee possibly could be of the same height.
How is that?
It is all about the terrain they are standing on.
Just take a look. There is a gentle gradient (slope) sloping down,
from right to left. Making Lee’s position a slight 1 – 2 cm higher
than Rain’s. Very subtle to the naked eye, but could be picked
up by a camera.
Want a better perspective of the way the gradient looks?
Just look at the spot on the opposite side of the road where these
two guys stand.
You can see a better view of the gentle gradient of the road
sloping down from right to left. Not very obvious gradient, but
enough to make 1 or 2 cm difference in a picture if taken at a certain
angle.
As Lee is standing on the left side which is slightly higher
than Rain, so it will be seen as if Rain is shorter.

I completely fail to see how this is different from fan reaction in the past or how this fan reaction comes as any sort of surprise at all.
