Cyrano; Dating Agency is a movie that I really wish were a drama instead, because it sounds entertaining, has an appealing cast, and seems like the type of story that could sustain hilarity and warmth for a number of episodes. I just hope that the romantic comedy can live up to my expectations, which are admittedly high for this type of fare. But it’s Cyrano de Bergerac set in a modern dating agency; how could it not be good?
Not long ago the first teaser poster was released for the movie. This time we see more of the main characters, namely Daniel Choi (High Kick Through the Roof) as a shy guy in love with Lee Min-jung (Smile). He hires an agency with a 99% success rate to help in his courtship; the team is led by Uhm Tae-woong (Queen Seon-deok) and employs Park Shin-hye (You’re Beautiful). Per the Cyrano tale, Uhm falls for Lee when he’s supposed to be helping his client win her over.
We’d seen a number of stills and behind-the-scenes shots of the main three leads (Uhm, Lee, Choi), but not much of Park Shin-hye. Her role is only a supporting one, but I hold out hope that she’ll have a fair number of scenes as a key strategist. In any case, she looks adorable.
Cyrano; Dating Agency will release over the busy Chuseok holiday weekend, which is in September.

agree with u jb…it has a great potential to be a good entertaining drama…i like all the four actors especially Lee Min Jung,Park Shin Hye and Uhm Tae Woong….but what’s with the Daniel’s pink tie in the official poster?? it’s looking really odd….but Uhm carried pink color very nicely…looking forward to this movie…

Woaaahhh i actually like the colour tone they use in that poster,.. And as much as i love Daniel choi, i just wish that Lee MIn Jung would end-up with Uhm Tae Wong, but from all the BTS it seem the otherwise,..

I think you’ll be happy with the plot! I have no spoilers but this is based on Cyrano de Bergerac, which means that Lee and Uhm are the ultimate pairing. (Cyrano can go tragic or comic, but since this is a rom-com, I’m pretty sure they’ll get a happy ending.)

Yeah, I seriously wish this was drama, I have no doubt the cast will deliver and the premise is interesting. It’s killing me that I’ll have to wait a whole year after the movie is released to actually watch it.
I agree- With this storyline and very appealing cast, this would be the perfect platform for a 16-17 episode romcom drama.
Lee Min-jung and Park Shin-hye are two of my favorite actresses(thanks in no small part to “Smile, You”, “You’re Beautiful”, and “Kimcheed Radish Cubes”), so I hope this movie will become available subbed.
I know that Park Shin-hye has been busy with her studies, so I hope that it won’t be too long before she’s in a lead role for a great new drama.

I’m hoping this movie (why is this not a drama instead of a movie??!) will live up to my expectations, especially since I adore the original Cyrano de Bergerac. (It was made funnier because of the war premise though, I have to admit!)
Anyhow, I love Lee Min Jung to bits and pieces, especially after Smile, You. By the way…this is probably not the most appropriate channel but…just wanted to check…are the Smile, You recaps on permanent hiatus? Because…I never got around to finishing the series…and I’m dying to know how it ended. LOL.

I am distraught now, because for some reason all this time I’ve thought that this IS a drama, only to discover while reading this post that it’s a movie. Not sure how I managed to miss the info before, but now I’m so disappointed!!!! Uhm Tae-Woong is my K-drama crush at the moment and I’m sad that I won’t get to watch him for 16 episodes of rom-com cuteness, LOL! Hopefully the movie will turn out to be really good – at least I’m allowed to watch it as many times as I want.

The plot line sorta sounds similar to “My best friend’s girl” a movie about a friend tryin’ to help his bf get the girl but end up fallin’ for her & vice versa…
