Hyun Bin enters marines, splits with Song Hye-gyo

Well, I can’t say I’m surprised. Hyun Bin (Secret Garden) entered the marines yesterday-today (That’s what I call Korea’s yesterday, which is our today. Don’t get me started on the tomorrow-today, which is ass backwards and not unlike time travel), to begin his two-year mandatory military service. He was sent off with lots of fans and the accompanying media frenzy, and shed tears of gratitude as he said goodbye and entered the base. And then about eight hours later, news broke that he had split with girlfriend Song Hye-gyo (Full House, The World They Live In).
The two stars met on the 2008 drama The World They Live In, and have been dating for roughly two years. Speculation about their breakup has been circling the media for almost a year, since both of them have spent the better part of 2010 completely entrenched in a myriad of projects, many of which were filmed overseas (Hyun Bin’s Late Autumn in Seattle, Song Hye-gyo’s The Grandmasters in China). But they’ve stayed quiet about the relationship for some time, and it was announced that Song Hye-gyo would not be accompanying Hyun Bin to the marine base.
It turns out that they purposely waited until after he entered the army to make the announcement public, so as to keep the public’s focus on their respective projects rather than their relationship. Personally, I think it’s a smart move. They’ve been dodging breakup speculation for a while, and if this news had broken even one day earlier, Hyun Bin’s entire army sendoff would’ve been about this, and not a tearful-but-happy goodbye.
Statements released indicate a mutual breakup due to busy conflicting schedules, and outside stress and pressure concerning their relationship status. Yeah, I’m gonna go ahead and say that it’s not unwarranted. But hey, you’re Hyun Bin and Song Hye-gyo. Whadduya gonna do?
This doesn’t come as a shocker since everything about their diverging careers screamed we are broken up, and mostly what I’m taking away from all this is that Hyun Bin has got some seriously savvy management. He’s basically done every single thing right, just before his army duty. Hit drama? Check. Massive CF lineup? Check. Big sendoff? Check. Amicable split with girlfriend announced the day after so that every woman turns into a puddle of goo imagining how lonely and heartbroken he is, entering the army? Check.
We’ll miss ya, Binnie. See you in two.

It doesn't matter to me whether HB matches better with SHG or HJW. If they want to be together then it's fine with me :)

Ha Ji Won is soooooooooooo ugly seems like she wake up right now-ugly eyes n face how can u say shes better than shk???its so stupid shk is so classic lovely im so happy cuz i dont like hyun bin at all i love lee min ho-also he likes shk i hope they make drama together but i love ricky kim he is so hot he dont seems to be korean my love is ricky kim he is hollywood star why he is in korea with that super ugly wife??/she is so lucky
i prefer song hye kyo n ricky kim they are super chic together

@sara. Looks like you're the ugliest person in the world and poorest and dumbest woman. Definitley, Ha Ji Won is much better than and prettier than shk. You know what!! Korean people do not like shk anymore. All of news comes from people that they do not want to see shk. DO YOU KNOW THAT? shk has several plastic sugeries, so her face is artifical instead of natural which God has given to her. Also, Lee Min ho does not like her anymore because he has a girlfriend who is much better than shk. In addition, Ricky Kim does not like shk either and that is his choice to stay in Korea not your order.
You lost your mind to write badly about Ha Ji Won who is a top and national actress in Korea.

Oh dear, so much talk about the break-up of HB & SHK. So much talk about SG & HJW. So much speculation and hope from fans that HB should be with HJW. By the way, do anyone know the three of them so well personally which warrant all the unfounded comments about who should be with who. We know fans of SG are hoping HB would hook up with HJW.
Look at it this way, did HB admit publicly that he likes HJW? According to both agents of SHK & HB, they are still in contact by messaging. Anything wrong with that? Even if they announce their break-up as girlfriend & boyfriend due to unforseen circumstances, they can still remain as good friends, isn't it? Did both of them gave very speific reasons for the break-up. Most of the people out there are just speculating and saying things to suit themselves.
As for me, I respect their decisions for whatever reasons they have. I only believe that they will remain as good friends because of the feelings they had for each other before the break-up. I would think that no matter how hard it is, HB & SHK will definitely have thoughts about each other when they are apart. Yes, I know "Out of sight, out of mind" but there is also another saying "Absence makes the heart grow fonder" So this is absolutley up to HB & SHK at the end of the day.
Couples who break up can always come back together again, even stronger than before. Just keep them in our daily prayers for HB to be safe & healthy and for SHK to remain healthy, popular and as sweet as before. Just hope that if they truly love each other, they will be back together again & also hope that the public will not try to match HB with others based on their own speculations and desires.

Well sorry their relationship didn't work out. But both of them were CLASSY and both of them are very, very talented actors. So I'm just gonna wish them both the very best and look forward to their future work. Most of the celebs in the army do well in the program and actually like it. They assign them to celebrity public relations stuff, and they get to work out a lot keeping them buff!

n important that the rs was broken up in an amicable situation.
well looking forward to his "release" and i also hope that Han Ji Won will find her partner too since shes not young anymore. Time to find a good guy n settle down. Maybe after 2 movies, HB is out and they can try to be a couple lol
oh ya, i was watching the BTS of the snow scenes where HB n JW were rolling on the ground n soon after, they get up... HB was addressing JW as nu na, according to the hangul written. unless its written wrongly but is there any chance to be in a rs with someone u called nu na?

I love the combo of HB with HJW. And I love the combo of BI with SHG. Funny, but their on screen portrayals worked so well for them. Love all four of these performers, very hot and adorable.

Break up issue was just a publicity for Secret Garden.. They are still sweethearts. HB just want to protect SHK while he's in military service..

Reading between the lines of comments, we cannot always make the life of the celebrities as we want. We can't dictate whom they should love and choose to marry, that's their life and we should respect their own decisions, if we truly care for them or love them we should let them live the way they wanted. Remember as fans we can't always be there for them, if they get old, I bet if you'll always be there to support them, some may do but not all of us. Let's just be real and accept them as they are. Who are we to compare the two woman for Hyun Bin? Did anyone of us lived with them that we know who they are from head to toe? Hmmm, we're all just fans, we don't even know their real characters behind cameras.
