Daniel Choi to the rescue in Baby-Faced Beauty

Daniel Choi puts up his dukes in these stills for his upcoming drama Baby-Faced Beauty, which show tussling with another guy. In the drama, he stars as the leading man to Jang Nara’s youthful-looking heroine, who gets a job thanks to her ability to pass for 25 years old rather than her actual 34.

Daniel Choi’s been playing nice-guy types recently with Cyrano Dating Agency and High Kick Through the Roof, but these shots remind me of the loose-cannon punk he played in The World They Live In, where he was always shooting off his mouth and causing trouble. He was kind of aggravating in that, but also endearing for all his wild ways.

Here he plays Jin-wook, a “playful, affectionate” kind of guy who rejects the family jokbal restaurant he is meant to take over in favor of pursuing his own dream, and gets a job working for a fashion design company instead. He’s also quick to react in the face of injustice, which gets his temper going, which is what we see in these stills: He swoops in to the rescue when he sees that Jang Nara’s having trouble with a blind date… and thus begins their romantic storyline.

Since he’s described as her “cute younger man,” I’m anticipating that there’s a reversal that comes at some point. We start when Jang is a new hire at the company and is initially thought to be recently out of college, while he’s employed in a superior position. Clearly they’re gonna assume he’s her oppa/sunbae/boss, only to realize later that she’s the noona. *rubs hands together gleefully*

Baby-Faced Beauty premieres on Monday, May 2, following KBS’s current drama Crime Squad.

    this is gonna be the first Jang Nara drama for me so i m kinda looking forward to it…daniel choi is charming…i liked him very much in cyrano…lets hope its good and does not go down the drain like midas!

    Doesn’t he have another drama that hasn’t aired yet too (The Musical)?

    Anyways, I’m waiting to see which Monday-Tuesday drama in May will emerge as the winner between Baby-Faced Beauty (Jang Nara, Daniel Choi, Hyun Young), Ripley (Mickey Yoochun, Lee Dae Hae, Kim Seung Woo, Kang Hye Jung) and Lie to Me, formely known as Sweet Scandal, with Yoon Eun Hye, Kang Ji Hwan, Jo Yoon hee and another male lead unconfirmed as of now.

    I can’t wait for the month of May :)

        oooh that’s an interesting question…i’d say YEH because she’s of her popularity with the audience and because she’s my fav…but if you look at the drama’s itself I’m betting on Ripley with Lee Da hae to come out as the rating winner

          YEH is my favorite too…I hope for the best for her upcoming drama…if look from the drama stories…LeeDahae’s drama more interesting but not guarantee the rating will be high…look dramas that airing now..serve interesting stories n stars but low ratings..oh so depressing ^.^

      Has Kang Ji Hwan’s drama been confirmed for a May release? I haven’t heard much about it recently.

        Kang Ji Hwan is almost 100% confirmed in the drama and Yoon Eun Hye is already confirmed. Several reports on Nate, Naver, Daum etc just came out…

        I’m totally rooting for this couple! Their ubber cuteness at the Baeksang ceremony in 2009 made me root for them to be in a drama together ^__^

    Maybe its because i have seen Daniel Choi in only High Kick Through The Roof but he looks weird without glasses on to me. I guess i should get used to it.

    I liked that I could hate him in The World that they live in. He was good at being disgusting and in Cyrano Dating Agency he surprised me with his cute, clean image – he can do it I’m sure. Unfortunately I don’t feel attracted. I just can’t see a crush on this road….

    mmmmm slightly off tangent but…. more articles of our 2nd lead ryu jin? :) :) hehe haven’t been able to get him out of my head since catching My Country Calls over the weekend (after reading the comments in the previous article related to Baby-Faced Beauty). the kilimanjaro leopard scene was so golden <3 so glad i waited a year to watch that drama so i've only got a month before i see him again in this show :)

      I watched that drama (I don’t really know why.. Maybe because of the female lead from Soulmate)and he was funniest .. I kind if felt sorry for him as well toward the end.

      The last pic looks best even though he is hurt lol May should be a fun month!!

    I’ve liked Daniel Choi since his World Within days! I found his acting so natural and effortless and although his character was pretty annoying, troublesome and simply a jerk, I couldn’t bring myself to hate his character completely! I miss his wild curly hair.

    I hope this drama’s good. I really need to feed my drama thirst…

    this drama is great! i wasnt really interested in daniel choi in worlds within but in baby faced beauty, he is absolutely adorkably hilarious.
