Kim Sun-ah and Lee Jang-woo for I Do, I Do

Kim Sun-ah has confirmed that she will be headlining upcoming MBC romantic-comedy drama I Do, I Do, which is great news for dramaland. The story seems tailor-made for her: top-dog female executive has a one-night stand with bright-eyed, bushy-tailed new hire, and she gets knocked up (because don’tcha know — that’s the only outcome of one-night stands in dramaland, SIGH) leading to an unlikely romance. Her not-quite-white-knight, noona-loving hero will be played by Lee Jang-woo (Man of Honor, We Got Married).

Considering that a substantial age gap is the point of this pairing, I can see the potential in casting Lee Jang-woo. He was pretty much the only not-entirely-crappy thing about Man of Honor, and he fits the man-boy profile to a tee. She’ll out-act him, but her character is designed to outshine him, which will help.

Kim Sun-ah will play Hwang Ji-an, a thirtysomething top shoe designer, who commands the attention of a room and always looks impeccable. At work, she’s basically described as The Devil Wears Prada‘s version of a boss, which means of course that her life will come crashing down to earth off her self-made pedestal, when she takes her first left turn from The Life Plan by sleeping with the rookie. The hero, Park Tae-kang, is a naive but ambitious new hire at the company, who’s got nothing but a high school diploma and a good work ethic to his name.

The hijinks should be a-plenty, since you’ve got so many reversals in one premise–age, power, gender. I’m really looking forward to Kim’s return to funny since last year’s Scent of a Woman, which sure, gave her a chance to stretch her weepy chops, but I think comedy is where she really shines. The drama’s goal is described as trying to break the drama stereotype that all thirtysomething women have screwy lives and need to be rescued by princes on white horses in order to be happy. YES PLEASE.

Directing is PD Kang Dae-sun (My Princess) and writing is Jo Jung-hwa. I Do, I Do is slated for a late-May premiere on MBC, following The King 2 Hearts.

It's so unfair that they move I do i do because of casting when Dr Jin doesn't even have a female lead yet...at least I do I do already has its main couple...I'm very upset, I'm sure King Kong isn't very happy since they already announce that this drama will air in May to fans. they wouldn't have if they weren't sure....I just hope Sunny won't back off because of this...

YES! Thank goodness it's not Jung Yong Hwa. No offense to him or his fans but the boy can't really...act. I was getting the shivers when I heard rumors it might be him. Honestly I've never seen anything of Lee Jang-woo's but hopefully he'll be good; more importantly, hopefully he'll have explosively hawt chemistry with Kim Sun-ah~

Fingers crossed for an awesome drama!

Somehow Mysti, I knew we could count on you to find this kind of information quickly (may I say at the speed of light :-) .
There's nothing you wouldn't do to let us know how hawt those korean actors/singers/models are, is there???
I have to say, your dedication has no bounds :-). It is a good thing you have a lot of love to spread around as you mentioned in another post. So many pretty boys, so many choices...

Ivoire, I don't know what you're talking about...
Indeed, most Korean male artists are good looking, but hey, is it my fault if they fit my taste perfectly?
Here, I'm just happy to see that a young talent i spotted before manages to be hired with such a good actress, in what seems to be a good project. :)

0

@ Mysti,

LOL "I don't know what you are talking about..." really, Mysti? :-)
Come on, this is me and this is you... I feel like I have read enough of your posts to know that we can count on you to enlighten us on just how hot (looks wise but also popularity/talent wise) an actor/actress is. I just had a smile on my face when I saw the links you shared and I thought to myself, "yep, that's our Mysti, just making sure we know how hot and valuable these guys are :-) "

Seriously, I think you should become some of these actors/singers' agent or something, because I think you would do a great job!!!! What do you think? (And then you would get to be really close to them. However, the job would entail that you sign them up for projects involving other women in CFs, dramas, movies etc... so that part might not be fun for you. Also, could you then date your clients? I remember how generous you said you are with your love :-) )
In any case, I am just messing with you... Je suis juste en train de te faire marcher :-). I would be interested in your thoughts though...

So, besides Man of Honor, what did you see Lee Jang Woo in? (Just curious...)

0

@ Ivoire, answering your post below : Being an agent for Korean artists is surely the job of dreams (dreaming doesn't cost anything right?). But there I have a problem: I absolutely suck at social skills in real life: I loosen up at DB place, I do the clown, but really I’m a very shy person. Just thinking about having the phone ringing all day, doing press meetings and all… “Shivering”. And I don’t even speak about being constantly surrounded by all those gorgeous men: I would need to take calming pills or else I would collapse from heart attack. How do actresses manage to do the eye-lock scenes without fainting is a mystery for me (well, I noticed that often they don’t stare at the eyes, they look at the forehead :) ). I guess I’m not the stalker kind of fan, rather the timid one enjoying the moment in the dark corner with a stupid smile on my face. As for being jealous, THAT is an emotion unknown to me (until now). The annoying ex girlfriend / rival has never been a scaring threat for me. If the relationship is meant to be then it works, if not then let’s part. I’m certainly not a dramaqueen. Also, I can be perfectly happy giving love and not receiving in return: Unrequited love is not an issue either. Dating clients? I have absolutely no problem with that (putting aside the crazy fans that will try to kill me of course). I have a lot of flaws and I know them by heart, but one thing I’m good at is detecting the good points in someone: When it comes to acting, I can see a minor character in the back of my screen, in the worst show possible, and tell he or she has skills and a bright future ahead. Honestly, I saw LJW in MOH only, but he was such a scene stealer… A hot cutie ? Sure. But above all, he has the complete palette of acting.

0

Wow...your post made me teary eyed. For most part, we're kind a similar but I AM a dramaqueen. That aside, I do pay attention to small characters coz sometimes they just shine so bright in their small little corners and I think to myself...one day he/she'll be great! Af of LJW, that was kinda obvious and I was telling myself, how long are they gonna push this kid to the side and give him these mundane roles...and wallah!!! He is the lead, next to my MOST FAVOURITE actress....I say...get ready for FAME Lee Jang Woo!!

0

@ Mysti,

Bonjour! reading some of your posts, I would have never guessed that as you put it "you suck at social skills." Are they that bad? Really? Is it just your assessment or have people told you that? You just seem so social on this blog, I had assumed that you were the same in life. Wow, talk about not judging someone by the way they appear online. I should say that it doesn't surprise me considering that it is a known fact that people are not necessarily in life the way they appear to be online (duh...), still, for some unexplainable reasons, I just imagined you to be the way you are online, as you said, "the clown, relaxed" etc... Finding out what you said about yourself was interesting and eye opening. Thank you for sharing that.

As for me, I am pretty much what I appear to be online which means that yes, I do love to talk (that is how I bond with people) but I am also a very good listener. I figured a long time ago that if I like to talk and being listened to, the list I could do is listen back when I am being spoken to. So I have learned to listen, and I have a very good memory. People are always surprised at how much I remember about what they have shared with me, when I check back with them to see how they are doing, and my reaction is usually "well, you were talking to me, wasn't it because you wanted me to listen and pay attention to what you were saying?" And they will say "yes," but still be a little surprise at how much I remember...
I am also sentimental, romantic, I love taking pictures to remember people and places, however I am also very realistic and analytical. I don't live in the clouds. I take my time to process things emotionally and mentally, and by the time I am done, I know how I feel and what I think, and it shows. I am not rude or crude in how I show it I think, and I have been told that I am one of those people with whom "what you see is what you get." Just sharing a bit more about myself.

Coming back to you and your comments, I find it interesting that you are shy and you might find yourself in good company with many of those Korean actors/singers/models because it seems that a number of them are. I am finding that out when I have the opportunity to watch them in different interviews/situations, it's quite interesting. Hyun Bin is one (it's very interesting to watch and also see how impressed and shy he can be by some of his female co-stars and how he behaves around them. Very eye opening), Lee Min Ho (of City Hunter) although he's handling it better and is more comfortable during interviews compared to when he shot to stardom with BOF. Kim Soo Hyun is another one, he might have gotten better over time. There are others (including female idols and actresses), but I don't remember their names right now. They are either shy or just more reserved in real life. Acting/singing/modeling seem to be an outlet for many of them.

I think I could handle being an agent for some of the Korean celebrities and I think I could definitely handle the eye-lock (I might be laughing for the first few shots though, so there will be some NGs). As far as being an agent, I would have to be very organized, more so than I am now, to handle the volume of work and pressure that comes with it, but I know I could totally handle being around those stars. I would look forward to it because I always wonder what they are like in real life: what pushes their buttons, what are they afraid of, what do they care about politically, internationally, personally? What do they believe about themselves and about the world? What would they stand for and what do they think is not as important or is negotiable? Basically, how is their public persona different from their private one and why? I feel that when you are as popular and famous as some of them are, there is a persona you project and there must be a shield they have mentally and emotionally to protect themselves. We know that some of them (unfortunately) are not well cared for by their agencies/management (I personally think that a big part of the problem with the saeseng/stalker fans is that the management of those idols doesn't seem to have done anything to protect them with security guards, someone handling their mail/packages etc... These idols are their cash cows and yet they seem to do the minimum or nothing when it comes to their personal security. That's sad... et dommage. I could say more about that but I will stop here. In the reports I have read so far, there were no mention of the agencies stepping up to assist/help their clients deal with those issues. It's not as if those agencies cannot afford the security needed to protect the idols).
So when I think about those celebrities, I tend to think about the person behind the persona. Who can they really count on and who do they really count on? I think at the end of the day, they are a lot like us: they want to be employed, make money (a lot of it), take care of their loved ones, travel, and be successful, however they define success. Because of their line of work, they also want fame and popularity, however there is a price to pay for that, and I don't think some of them realize just how much you might have to pay for it.
'I think I care about them as people and so I always wonder what is behind the veil, hum...

I think you are blessed not to be jealous, because I think I would be. There are areas in my life where I am just not totally secure... yet. And as much as I know that it has a lot to do with me primarily, I wouldn't con myself in thinking that I would not envy, or feel insecure when faced with certain situations. Like you, I think it is important to be honest with oneself and it is important to know oneself as well, so you know what you can handle and what you can't handle and you decide then how to handle things because you are aware of your limitations.

Like you, I am not a drama queen either. The only place where I like dramas is on my screen, preferably in Korean dramas and out of my life. That of course, is wishful thinking. How long could that last in real life? Sometimes, the drama comes and finds you... Life is just funny that way.

"Unrequited love is not an issue for me," good for you!!! Because that doesn't work for me, at least not in my key friendships/relationships. IF I give out love, I would like to receive it back, that is just who I am... still. I am just being honest. I think it is different if I am supposed to be in a person's life just to bless him/her, but I have to be aware of it (having come to that conclusion) and then I am Ok with that.

I asked where you had seen Lee Jang Woo because I watched him in "Smile, Donghae," and I personally didn't like his acting there. I just thought he wasn't good there. Then I saw him in MoN, and I was really impressed by how much he had grown and improved in regards to his acting skills. And I agree with you, he was a scene stealer and he seemed to have better chemistry with Park Min Young. Some of their scenes were really cute and adorable (there was one when she was in her bedroom, pretending to be sick and he came to visit her). I still haven't finished MoN, so I can't comment too much on that yet.

I went back and read former posts related to this drama/news and I found out that you were the one who had suggested that LJW be picked for the role opposite KSA and I thought "she has a good eye and seems to be a good judge of who can act and who can't".... which then leads me to this question: You have said in another post that Lee Dong Wook doesn't really do it for you, (You don't really like him), why is that, do you think?

On this note, happy reading, since as usual I wrote a journal. Passe une bonne soiree et a plus tard...

P.S.: You made a comment about dreaming being free. I say, please dream away. So many things start with a dream, I believe in dreaming...

0

@ Ivoire: Thanks for your interest and your kindness. I take your word and will post a longer, more personal reply in the next OT: I need to sort out my thoughts and feelings.
Btw, how much time do you need to write such lengthy posts of yours? It would take hours for me. LOL.

0

@ Mysti,

You are very welcome !!! (this is in response to you thanking me). I just made sure I answered and touched on everything you said, I take writing whether it is a handwritten letter (I still do those), a comment here etc... quite seriously and I like to address all the points that jump at me. Ever since I was a teenager, I wanted people to touch on or answer all my comments when I wrote (pen pals, friends etc...) so the least I could do, is do the same for them. The way I appear here, is the way I have been saying it since I started contributing my thoughts: I tend to be a detailed and thought out kind of writer. That attitude is also encouraged here and on another blog I used to participate in by the fact that we are not censored about the length of our posts and I haven't gotten any flack about my posts so far. I was somewhat concerned about the length of my comments at the beginning, but then RtRH encouraged me to write the way I wanted to and he and other readers seem to welcome it, so I thought it was OK. Besides, I am not the only one who does it, I have read some of the discussions on OT and (some of the comments) after some of the articles posted, so I figured "I belong here," and I was treated as much, I felt.
You know, my last post just confirms what I have been saying or what I have been hinting at all along: I am open about what I think, how I think and how I feel. I try to be considerate, polite, courteous and thoughtful of others (and I think I am, even in real life as best I know how) and so, I am not hard to figure out, which I think helps in friendships/relationships. I am also aware that it is not all about me, so I welcome what people have to say, I think it is the inquisitive side in me.

"Thanks for your interest and your kindness." I appreciate your compliment, it is the first time that I receive such a compliment. I am glad that my interest and my kindness could come across my writing. That's good, because I DO care, really. I think a lot of us here do, as I have found out and that is part of what makes it a good community.
You know, I did "une Terminale A" (specialized in foreign languages and in philosophy) when I was in High School and went on to study some more of that in college (Langues Etrangeres Appliquees a Poitiers pendant 3ans) and so you KNOW I have had to write papers (long ones quite often) and analyze and dissect thoughts and ideas during my high school and college years in Cameroon, France and in the US. It doesn't help that it is an exercise I naturally like to do. Put those things together, and that explains why I write the way I do. I have said it before here, but I REALLY do love languages: the written form, spoken one, murmured one :-) languages in all its forms and writing long letters and essays is a big part of how I improved my skills in them. So, when given the chance to write, if I don't have to restrain myself, I usually don't.
When I am talking however, I pay attention to the context I am in and who I am speaking with or speaking to. There are times when I need to keep it short, and I do. I have learned (and I am still learning) where and when to do that.

"I need to sort out my thoughts and feelings," please take your time. It seems that I have given you some food for thought, good!!!! yay for meaningful conversation, not that I mind the other kinds :-).

It doesn't take me as long as you think to write my answers because I type Ok, (not super fast, but not too slow either). What takes time is the fact that I reread what I wrote so I can edit it and check to make sure it makes sense. It is still time consuming though which is why I don't always answer all the posts I would like to answer at the time I would like to answer them. I do think about them though (the discussion you guys had about the "black face" was one of them, mostly because I was busy with my move) and very often, I will have conversations with myself about what I would have said. That sounds crazy, but I do live alone and there are not a lot of people in my life who share my interest and love of many things Korean, so sometimes, I just talk to myself while I cook or do the laundry etc... It's quite entertaining :-). I started that as a child because I had siblings much later (our age gaps are kind of big) and so I was lonely for a long time, and I guess, that never fully went away. It helps me pay attention to my thought process.
I like writing, so I don't mind writing lengthy posts or comments. i always look forward to the kind or responses I get as well.

I would add something I didn't say in my previous post, which is that if I were an agent for some of the male celebrities, I wouldn't date them. I would want my personal life to be separate from my professional one. I think I could become friends with them, after being so close and depending on their personalities, beliefs etc.... but dating, hum... For one thing we don't have a lot in common, I think. 2nd: I don't mind being playful and silly but I would need someone really mature and thoughtful and insightful to handle me and help me continue to grow and willing to let me do the same for them. Many of those celebrities are younger than I am and so I think besides their money (if they are willing to share it and pamper you) and work ethics which I admire, what else would they bring to the table as far as I am concerned? Life experience is important and I am not sure we are on par in that department. I am not looking down on them, I am just stating what is. Emotional maturity is extremely important to me and so is education. And by education, I don't mean just degrees, but being aware of your community, your place of origin and the world at large. I think it is important and that is how I grew up, and I still believe in that. I don't pretend to know everything because I don't, and so I am humble enough to ask when I don't know. I can't be seriously involved with someone if he doesn't care about certain things in the world, "if you don't stand for something, you will fall for anything" and that is sad and regrettable.
Also, it is not like their schedule allows them to do much while they are building their career, which many of them are, especially before they go into the army. And I tend to be quite possessive and quite conservative, I am not comfortable sharing my man (so definitely no kissing during CFs, dramas, movies). I am not crazy but I know I have different standards and expectations for my romantic relationships and I subscribe to those standards as well. That's just how I personally view (romantic) relationships. Besides, I really like my privacy and my ability to come and go as I wish. I would have an extremely hard time being in the public eye the way they are and I think that would be hard to avoid if dating one of them. I really don't envy how famous and how popular they are. You would have to be willing to put up with what comes with it, and I don't. I also think that it takes a toll on the person living that way, and given the choice, I wouldn't want it. I am not that interested in how much money a man could give me, because I can make my own. I would want to be pampered however, because I know I would want to pamper him as well. Besides, I think I deserve it.
I would make a really good friend though. I am loyal, honest, dependable, caring and nurturing and I think I have a good head on my shoulders.

There, I think I have covered everything I wanted to cover. Again happy reading and I look forward to your remarks in the next OT :-)

well, i was thinking of watching this b/c it looks like it will have a strong female lead (always hear that, but exactly how many turn out that way?), but i wasn't completely hooked on him (cuz, truthfully, i've never seen him in anything *ducts and hides from fans*). but you certainly have a way of convincing me to watch it as a necessity >.>
don't get me wrong, i always judge the quality of the drama, the eyecandy is just a plus ^.^

@zsa, KSA is 171 cm tall and LJW 184 cm, same height with LDW.

0

@jastinel...really? I read in DramaWiki he is 186cm...anyways, he IS TALL...looks like you got your wish too...you were rooting for him right? So happy!!

0

you're right, he is 184...thanks for clarifying^^

0

his acting are so good on Smile Donghae and Man of Honor, and im sure atleast he is 10000X better than Jung Yong Hwa...

0

@Feather Lee Jang Woo is a good actor and atleast 10000X better than Jung Yong Hwa in acting

0

@jjj
even if i haven't seen him in anything, i won't disagree on the topic of him vs jung yong hwa (i'm a fan of CNBlue, but that doesn't mean i'll let it bias my opinion). i thought yong hwa had a hard time emoting in heartstrings, he seemed awkward most of the time. since all of you have been giving Lee Jang Woo a lot of praise, my expectations have risen for this drama. here's hoping its great! *crosses fingers*

I see the likeness too, and it's kind of weird because i don't like LDW much (sorry fans). But LJW has this bad boy vibe that works with me.

many say they are similar, coz both of them are really really fair, even for a Korean...but he is TALLER than LDW!!!Hehehe...and we all know how tall Kim Sun A is...so that's a plus point!!

0

AH! Thank you for saying this, I thought he looked like a cross between someone and someone and I was trying to figure out who...

Lee Dong Wook + Lee Min Ho = Lee Jang Woo

Why are they all Lee's?...

Ok, I am sorry but I don't know the duck, duck, goose game. How is it played, and what is the goal when playing this game?
I am asking because I would like to be in on the joke/laugh :-)

0

It's OK Ivoire!

Basically a bunch of people sit in a big circle and one person who is "it" goes around patting their heads going "duck, duck, duck...GOOSE". You can say duck however many times you want the point is you want "goose" to be caught off guard because whoever is "goose" has to get up and tag "it" before "it" can take "goose's" place in the circle.

It's so much fun for no reason at all, ahahha.

0

yes thank god it;s not Jung Yong Hwa...I'll always love him as Shin Woo hyung but the boy needs more experience before he can lead a drama..and he'd just be wierd with Sun Ah....Lee Jang Woo fits here I guess

Hallelujah!!

We're actually getting who most of us hoped for!

This will be a must see for me, cause I just LOVE this kid - his time on WGM never fails to crack me up and I hope that this rom/com uses his sense of humor. I really can see some chemistry between these two and the possible havoc it's going to wreck with Eun-jung on WGM. So far, she's been bitter about every girl he's worked with. It'll be fun seeing how she deals with it.

This is quite a jump up for this young actor - starring opposite KSA. Can't wait!

Agree he has both. The key is the transformation because I think in the beginning we are going to all be on KSA's character side of despair at the man-boy baby daddy. I hope he totally knocks her socks off, melts her panties, shows her he can be a man too. :P

Glad to see cutie LEE JANG WOO back on dramaland!!! ^^ Though I’m not really into older-woman-younger-man set-up, I still find this series promising for a rom-com.

Knowing Lee Jang Woo, he's such a naughty guy! My love for him grows every week as I see him getting perrrrrrrvie with his virtual wife so I'm sure he can handle this new role very well. ;)

"ps. my opinion" - the only one that had ever match her was Cha Seung Won, City Hall sealed the deal for me. she became my most favorite actress in the WORLD.after CH i watch MNIKSS which solidify my love for her. then SOAW which broke my heart to pieces.. I do LOVE all of her leading men, now i'm just waiting to love Lee Jang-woo.

i couldn't believe it either. i recently wrote an essay for my college class, and i wrote about City Hall being the only politics that i was on the edge of my chair for, seeing how i HATE politics. The CHEMISTRY was FIRE! That KISS in the CAR! and the BED scene. after watching CH it was HARD to find something to watch, because I'm always looking to see the chemistry between the leads. if there is nothing there i DROPPED it.BEST OF 2009 and still reigning as #1.. all of her works are in my top 10 >.<

0

@aya...you got my vote there...so I was totally pissed when Lee seung gi and Han Hyo joo won best couple that year...compared to the CH couple, they were just ...NON COMPARABLE if u ask me...I nearly threw a bottle at the TV!!!

0

I know how you feel, i actually couldn't get past ep 5 of briliant legacy. honestly i hated it!!! the standard of CHEMISTRY City Hall has set is SOOO high. the only one that ever came close to it was Scent Of A Woman. that was HOTT!!!!!! did you see the TANGO!!!!!!!??????? PS. Not for the faint hearted....

0

Omaigad...don't even remind me of the tango...I was eating potato chips while watching them coz y'know...it's just TANGO....after a few minutes...I nearly choked on the chips....phewwww...that was HOT!!

0

LOL!!!! you know that some dangerous stuff, plz don't do it again haha. I had to turn on the AC and the fan. is it weird that i started overheating? i rewind it countless times before letting it play through. i watched it on Viki and the comments almost killed me >.<..... talking about this is getting me so excited to see whats going to happen in "I Do I Do"

I don't suppose she does. Casting is usually done by the director as well as the scriptwriter coz they visualize who is suitable for the lead role. KSA once said that it shouldn't matter who is cast, she doesn't take or not take a project because of that...which I think is very cool and sweet of her.

I think they must do a screen test, too, with the leads.
Not only do they act well together, but how do they come across on screen.
I bet the screen test uncovers more dynamic duos than just script reads. Think about how some actors just come alive on camera, when IRL they are ordinary.

And don't forget his Off-The-Charts Bad Boy role in "Smile, Donghae." (Was I the only one here that watched the whole thing? Maybe so...) I just about crawled inside my monitor to slap the crap out of him over all the shite he stirred up against Changwook-ssi -- which means he did a fantastic acting job!

^That's what I was thinking was going to happen, and then I saw the comments and smiled. People seem to be open to the idea which is a nice change of pace. I mean I hate to bring up a topic that urks people 'round these parts, but many people complained about the age gaps in A Thousand Kisses, especially the Ryu Jin/Kim Soeun pairing and I was thinking it was going to be the same here. Nice to see people not so ready to shut down the idea. I'm game for this too. Go Kim Sunah!

Required fields are marked *

Yeah, I see a swift end coming for their WGM time. They're a cute couple, mostly because it's entertaining watching Jang-woo trying to score with Eun-jung, week after week. But as a couple, they really haven't progressed in any significant way - and having a wedding ceremony this far along isn't a good sign. Did they ever have a wedding shoot? Usually, that's the clear indicator the couple is on their way out. So, between Eun-jung's injuries, her drama schedule and T'ara activities, and now Jang-woo's I Do I Do and his new MC duties with Uee, I can't see much more time for them (particularly since it looks like the WGM new PD is grooming Donghae as the newest addition to the show).

Ordinarily, I'd agree, but in this instance I'm concerned that WGM is going to bite itself in the tail with too much involvement of SuJu for the show.
If there's one thing that's clearly apparent about being signed up for WGM, it's a total guarantee of almost instantaneous popular exposure, particularly for idols. They're generally popular to begin with - WGM pushes them into a different level, which is why celebrities are clamoring to be cast on the show. Idols being paired with actors has been shown to be a bit less successful than idols with idols, up until Leeteuk and Sora were paired. Those two are hitting all the buttons for an ideal couple, but there's a lot of SuJu involvement now - too much, actually - to the point where the Jang-woo, Eun-jung couple look almost boring in comparison - especially now that the Brave Couple is finis.
WGM needs a balance of diverse personalities - otherwise, let's just call it SuJu 2.
:)

Required fields are marked *

I agree with everything. I know the idols bring in the ratings. And I think Leeteuk and Sora are cute as buttons. But I wonder if the lack of balance would isolate some of the older viewers? As cute as I think Leeteuk and Sora are, it kind of creeps me out a bit that this dude acts this way and he's pushing 30. I'm sure it has something to do with him being an idol, but it is refreshing to see the alternative (Brave, Campus) who are free to act like men in their prime.

0

Heh. It kind of makes me laugh when thinking about the 'idol bubble' that all these kids are trapped into - it's sad and funny. Sad, because no inter-sex socialization is allowed, and funny because many of these idols are cast in dramas where they're expected to bring on the romance. It's bizarre to watch them acting out romantic/sex scenes in front of the camera, and yet don't have a clue for real-life socialization. Who knew that Leetuk with all of his bravado really has the mentality of a 30 year-old virgin? (minus the waxing happyface scene)
Talk about weird/awkward. Donghae, too. He's as naive as Seo-hyun was.
At least Jang-woo is pervy and proud of it!
:)

0

It is laughable, but it makes me wonder if it's genuine. Sometimes as I'm watching I'm wondering if Leeteuk is a complete freak behind the scenes, but is just playing the idol role for the cameras. Not saying it's true, but it makes you wonder.

It reminds me of how delighted I was when Yoochin's name was thrown into that sextape scandal. I guess most rabid idol fans would be disappointed, but it actually made me like him more. #1- He's not a eunuch and possibly getting busy on the regular. #2-He's actually a human being who makes mistakes. Good for him.

0

The PD already stated last month that they were replacing all of the WGM couples with Super Junior couples. They have already ended the brave couple , I think Woojung hasn't ended yet only because the labor strike has delayed quite a few episodes. I cannot stand most of supior junior so once the JangWoo/Eunjung couple ends I will probably no longer watch it.

0

@Mystisith - yes. breaking the social code. right on.

In most parts of the world...BOTH genders have to work to pay the bills. The idea of *older guy who is in a place to provide for a family*...went out ~somewhere in the late 60's, early 70's.

There's absolutely zero reason to segregate affection based on a woman being older. (legal ages being appropriately applied, of course)

.....I say VIVA! to a good drama...whatever the age gap.

0

so right! And, because she's my age It's even easier to picture my self :))) in her role.
Please give a chance to every woman (I don' t need it, I am still married - hope my hubby doesn't read this :)))

I love KSA from previous dramas and I like LJW from Man of "horror" - after ep. 11 I started to watch only his parts :D the rest was to stupid for me. I still have stamped on my brain the 2-nd scene when he is with sick Jane and leans on her to kiss her <3 ... those eyes, that mouth - I do! :))))

IMHO they have made for some of the greatest OTPs in Kdrama such as Dalja' Spring, What's Up Fox and Hello My Teacher (or any of its gazillion names its known for out there). I'm glad this will be different and not the white knight motif that was used earlier, and its about damn time Kim Sun-ah played a woman in charge of her life, even if it falls apart. I'm tired of seeing her be cute, irritating and desperate.

Here is for hoping that the one night stand is passionate and not one of those drunken falling on top of each other accidents (so common in k-drama land). People seem to get pregnant after those fully clothed "accidents". I say break the norm and give us some passion. But KSA is not so conservative in that way... she does kissing scenes very passionately (Check City Hall, Kim Sam Soon, Scent of a Woman) all very satisfying kisses, and LJW is such a perv on WGM with Eunjung.

I'm totaly confident that they will deliver the HOT.

I agree with you on KSA and the kissing, so deliver some more uncensored HOT scenes for us. The stiff kissing was going out to k-drama in general (which is poorly lacking in that department). That is why we all get excited over one hot kiss (and rave over it endlessly) and actual touching in a 16 hour drama.
Haven't seen LJW on WGM, but I hear he is all into his wife.

I would like if he unknowingly spots a loose string, pulls at it, and slowly unravels the fabric holding together her facade of perfection.
Weaknesses are hot, especially secret ones. If she cannot resist him, and risks everything when she finally allows her passion to rule her, well, THAT is a good start to a drama.
I read somewhere that we do not change as we get older, we just keep getting closer to who we really are. In her case, I hope that this guy helps her find that person she has been trying to hide.

I think he is up for that type of sincerity. He really was the best part of MoH.

"Screw these people! I'm writing my own script with this idea."

Woman executive - newly hired salesman who works in the cube RIGHT OUTSIDE HER OFFICE. Has to walk by him every day. Learns a lot just sitting near him. Gets interested, but afraid to approach him because he doesn't work for her even remotely. (That is possible in our office.)

If you go back in time to the 80's, there was a show Thirty Something. My favorite storyline in the whole series was when an older photographer fell slowly in love with her younger man house painter. Sounds so cliche, but it was soooo hot.

As for the show Thirty something - that does sound HOT. I mean young man working around the house (without shirt on). Being all manly man... What is not to like? It will be our guilty secret.
