Kolorful Palette: Second first kiss [Trot Lovers]

Is it just me, or is this drama moving fast? This is the point that most shows start to lag, so I’m extremely pleased that I’m still so hooked, but I honestly don’t know what the next 6 episodes will bring since almost everything I expected has already happened. Soo-in can’t really fall any farther, and our main couple certainly can’t get any more lovey-dovey!

I was actually pretty surprised by the injury, and if Joon-hyun gets amnesia then I quit! I definitely don’t think that will happen though, and my only real hunch is that Chun-hee will have to pretend to date Geon-woo for a while to avoid scandal. Even though Chun-hee won’t be remotely swayed by a separation from Joon-hyun, I wouldn’t mind her spending more time with Geon-woo just because I love him so much. I swear he’s the first male second lead to have a good relationship with his father, and his whole personality is bizarrely charming. He’s so open and frank that I find it almost impossible not to root for him a little, even though I want Joon-hyun to get the girl too. After seeing him in You From Another Star I thought I could never see the actor Shin Sung-rok as anything but the creepiest of creeps, so it’s perpetually a marvel to watch him as someone so likable.

Sometimes I’m glad that dramas aren’t very accurate reflections of real life, and the scene above is one of them. Chun-hee has finally figured out how Joon-hyun feels and is sitting in their special spot singing, and it’s pretty flawlessly romantic. If that were me though, and someone kissed me while I had my eyes shut when I thought I was alone, I’m quite positive there would be flailing or thrashing, and most certainly someone would get hurt. I also don’t really understand why Joon-hyun went through such an excessive tough-love routine in the first place (couldn’t he have just been a manager that didn’t live with her?) and then went to the opposite extreme of spending all his time with her, but I’m glad he did because they are ridiculously adorable together and I can’t get enough of it.

On a side note, I feel like I have to mention how great Chun-hee’s voice is because I notice it in every single episode. I still have no idea if I like trot music, but it makes me happy every time the singing starts on this show (and thankfully that’s a lot!). I don’t know if Jung Eun-ji is actually doing the singing herself, but it does sound like her voice, and even with auto-tune I don’t think you can fake that vibrato. Pretty impressive if you ask me!

So far the summer season is still going strong and I have yet to be disappointed. I think my next goal is to find a nice scene of Hye-won from Joseon Gunman to draw, but who knows what next week will bring with so many great dramas to choose from.

Nice drawiiiing!! Thank you for all your drawing.

BTW Eunji is a great singer. I'm sure she's done all the singing by herself. Trot is not really my cup of tea so i prefer her usual song in Apink or Duet. Currently loving his duet with Huh Gak http://youtu.be/BIbTM4bZHUM

I thought the same thing when he kissed her. Seriously, even if my husband kissed me IN OUR OWN HOME while I was spacing out/eyes closed, I would probably smack him involuntarily. (I know I would at the very least, open my eyes to check to make sure it was him.)

I felt the same way when I watched the scene. OK, I would not have hit someone but at the very least, I would have stumbled back and go "EEEEKKKK". Obviously, I was half-expecting a comical moment to come out of this scene but the calm kiss tugged on my heart strings too.

Jung Eunji is definitely a singer who can really sing. She said if she couldn't be singer she would choose music trainer as her future. And I believe she is one of precious singers of South Korea. Who wonders a little girl from Busan can slay Korean music industry.
She has strong and clear voice, even though I don't know music, yet I'm pretty sure she will have bright future as singer.

You've really captured the feeling of that scene - lovely.

Soo-in, shouldn't she be charged with attempted murder? I'd like to see that - it was premeditated no less.

I'd love to see that too!! And they better not let her off. -___-. I don't get how anyone can feel sorry for her.

Ah. For the new fans of a Shin Sung a Rok watch 3 dads 1 mom. He's an even bigger sweetie pie in that one. I was actually shocked how convincing he was in MLFTS.

OFCOURSE it's Jung Eunji's own voice-- no auto tuning or nothing! she's one of the best vocalists in kpop and she's going SOLO soon <33

I still dont know what trot is but it it's anything like how eunji sings it, then I absolutely loveee it!

I'm glad this drama showcases eunji's singing as well as her acting- ppl say she's typecasted but she's a acting a completely different role in trot lovers! :P
