A kiss to kick off My Unfortunate Boyfriend

Cable drama My Unfortunate Boyfriend is set to premiere this week, and from initial stills and descriptions, it looks like it could turn out to be a cute romance with a funny touch. Plus, Noh Min-woo is changing up his image and playing an ordinary guy for once, and I look forward to the shift — I’m so used to seeing him play bizarre, offbeat, and/or cold types (God’s Gift–14 Days, Full House 2) that it’ll be a novel experience seeing him being super nice and naive. The drama also looks to soften his hard-edged looks, which always put me in mind of a beautiful alien — sure he’s beautiful, but also: alien.
My Unfortunate Boyfriend is described as a “sweet romance” drama and pairs Noh with Yang Jin-sung (Bride of the Century), and in standard K-drama fashion, they’ll be diametric opposites: He’s a man who’s innocent to a fault, and she’s the woman who lacks innocence to a fault. It’s a dynamic that certainly worked well for Ho-gu’s Love, buoyed by a heartfelt performance from Choi Woo-shik, and I can certainly see it working well here. Especially since it looks like the heroine is more than willing to take the lead on the skinship front.
In the poster below, the wooden sign bears a list of life instructions that our so-called unfortunate boyfriend adheres to: Don’t lie, keep promises, speak respectfully, listen to the other person, help the weak. Well-meaning and sweet, for sure, although his pure heart is bound to cause him as many problems as it’s meant to help. Let’s hope he can open his eyes a bit, but without needing to lose too much of that innocence.
The drama also stars Yoon Hak (of idol band Supernova) and Han Hye-rin (Empress Ki, Shoot My Heart) as secondary leads. It airs on Friday and Saturday nights on MBC Dramanet, and premieres on April 10.

Hope it does wel. Beautiful alien, true, great words to describe how I feel when I look at him which is strange, he's too beautiful more than your average woman,in that it's kind of hard to watch him in a drama but I'm making an effort to change even though it feels weird. Anyone else feel the same?

He was completely normal in Rock! Rock! Rock! I'm hoping he will pick-up more drama like that. If you feel he's an alien try watch him playing drum in youtube for 2 am heartbeat, I'm sure you will go bonker hihi

Except when his hair is black...like God gave him....then he is just beautiful. I don't know why the stylists insist on having him auburn or light haired(and I hat the curl too) when he looks so striking with his natural...or even unnatural...black hair. Oh well.

I loved him in Gumiho because he was so pretty that he was hot. (if that makes any sense :) ) I felt that exact same way about Jang Geun Suk in You're Beautiful, so pretty too. In one of the pictures above, I totally thought Minwoo looked like Lee Hong Ki!

I LOLed so hard. I don't know if I was in the minority or not but I thought FHT2 was so funny. The only downside of that drama was NMW's "feminine mannerisms", which made it impossible to even imagine any chemistry between the leads.

Oh yay! It's April already! I'm really curious about this drama...
I always have a soft spot with NMW. Yeah, I'm not really into his style nowadays...I mean, he's always been pretty, but I think he looks much better in those Pasta-Midas-MGIAG days. But then again, that's just looks. I also think he multitalented, as an actor/singer/composer. I hope he'll do the soundtrack for this drama! And NMW can be funny, imo :-D I enjoyed watching him on FHT2, honestly. Okay, the hair bugged me at first, but then I guess it grew on me. It was a fun drama!
And I pretty liked YJS from BOtC, too. I think I want to watch this. So where can I watch this? :-D Viki?

haha I thought the male lead looked familiar, that theme music from MGIAG for him still haunts me to this day.
I loved Jin-Sung in Bride of the Century, thought she did a really great job. Looking forward to see more of her here.
