is this confirmed ??? I don't know why , but I don't really think she's that bad as what being mentioned by most people. she did good in Bridal Mask. and I can say she's pretty serviceable too though so many people said the other wise . and somehow I think she can really portray a girl in disguise character .. if she's confirmed to be in this drama. i really hope she improves a lot and proof to the people that she can really act. give this girl a chance. who knows that she might surprise us later on.

What I want to know is, why does everyone hate Jin Se-yeon so much? I've only seen her in the first few episodes of Gaksital - granted, I dropped the drama after about episode 10, but there wasn't anything wrong with her acting from what I saw. Nor was she receiving all these negative comments back then (there were some negative comments, but just as many positive ones). What happened to make her everyone's least favorite actress? Did her acting actually get worse? Did other projects show her limitations? Or is it Kang Sora fans who hate her and everyone else just joined in? I honestly want to know.

Try to read Pogo's replied on the first page to find the answer. Lack of professionalism is one of the major cause of why she rubbed most people off. Her acting also need a lot of improvement and that didn't help when the girl jumped from one drama after drama non-stop while the other better actresses don't get the luxury that she has.

I personally don't have a problem with ANY of these actresses. At least they don't make faces all the time, like Shim Eun Kyung (Nodame Cantabile) or Song Yun-ah (On Air). That gets old really fast.

actually i think lee jun ki wasnt the first choice too. the script have been floating around for awhile and han groo's name was attached first than lee jun ki confirmed. so this drama didnt start off with the right foot. I can imagine maybe its like a historical Blood, so the A listers just turn it down.

It's been a joy to watch your dramas. I look forward to spending time with you each year. But if Jin Se-Yeon signs on to Scholar Who Walks the Night, PLEASE...PRETTY PLEASE...I'm begging you to walk away from this project. Heed the advice of your most ardent fans, it's in your best interest to make a run for the hills or border ASAP.

Most of the comments here reject JSY, and state the dislike of her acting, but they're hardly spiteful. I was expecting nasty comments too, but the most they're doing is making fun of her casting. Their reasons are not unreasonable, as well. It's hardly malevolent. Trust me, there's been worse on Dramabeans.

LMBO, what? Lee Jun Ki is considered one of the best actors, but Taecyeon is a really bad actor. He stunk up all 4 of his dramas. If he gets the lead for this drama, then the acting will be TRIPLE bad with Changmin and Jin Se Yeon...The audience can't take it from all the cringing.

Give this drama a lead actor who'll match her in absolute lack of acting talent so Lee Jun-ki fans (me!) don't suffer what Lee Jong-seok fans had to suffer this time last year - i.e. the torture of seeing a talented favourite actor attempt to romance the human personification of a block of wood.

Your opinion is in the minority, sorry not sorry. From my long time observation, Taecyeon is known as one of the worst idol actors. Nobody likes Go Sung a hee and her super bad acting. Ku hye Sun still gets a lot of hate too. Same thing with Jin Se Yeon as you can see here....over 300 negative comments of hate towards her.

who knows that she might improves in her acting ..... the girl has not confirmed to be in the drama yet but people has been hurling verbal abuse on her left and right ..there are so many actresses that starts from zero and didn't even know how to throw a line in proper intonation that finally improves and turn out to be good actresses after many years of acting experience. it's better to be optimistic rather than condemning people using harsh words.

why are we obliged to do that, anyway? She's been acting since she was a child actress, has had major parts in some excellent dramas in that time, and has consistently failed to show any talent despite working with some of the best writers, PDs and costars out there.
I'd say total incompetence at your job deserves "harsh words", especially after more than five years of it.

she started acting when she was 16 years old back in year 2010. so it's just barely 5 years of acting experience and she only got 5 dramas as the leading role...and right now she's only 21 years old. so she still has so many years ahead of her to improve her acting . I have to say there are some actresses that act for more than a decade being the female leads in dramas and they were really hopeless in those dramas that they did before ..however finally after so many years and while they are already in their 30's , they finally proof to the people that they can really act . there are even some of them that still cannot act even after a decade being in the industry . there are even worse actresses than Jin Se Yeon but then they didn't get bashed as much because of their status. not all actress can be good actress in short time. they really need chances and time to polish their acting skills. so I would say, the same thing goes to Jin Se Yeon . she'd just turned 21 this year but yet people are saying truly malicious things about her and putting her down . the hatred being thrown as if this girl has done something really really bad.

Look at it this way. If any of us worked for multiple companies over a 5 year period - and did poorly at every one - we'd need to change careers. Because when we washed out yet again, nobody would hire us.

Oh, I would love it if she proves us wrong and gives a good performance. I really hope that she does that one day.
But, as for now, our views on her aren't unjustifiable. Yes, she's young, but she hasn't shown improvement in the years that she's been acting. You think she's deserving of those lead roles, when she's consistently not giving great performances? Those opportunities can go to better actresses her age, who are more commendable. You say she needs more time to polish her acting skills, but she's always given lead roles. That's not the way to do it.
I don't really consider these comments on this thread 'truly malicious.' They're a bit mean and unnecessary, but hardly disparaging. Also, you might think it really unfair that she's getting this much negative feedback, but that extends to other actors/actresses like her. Bad performances always garner criticism. Status or not, you will get bashed, if you don't give a good showing. So, for most of us, don't think that we're up for game, and JSY is our target.

When I said truly malicious, I was not only referring to the comments on this site alone, but I'm referring to the most comments made on various news site and social medias. At times, you wouldn't believe on how much hates that she gets. And those malicious comments are definitely not constructive criticism when they are calling her with names such as b*tch , wh*re etc...they even asked her to go to h*ll ..urghhh..there are just too many ridiculous naming and verbal abuse that she got only because of her acting . they "slaughtered" her as if she has committed the biggest sins. There are many more worse actresses than her but I shall not name them because I don't think it's good for me to degrade people just because I don't like their acting. And what irks me the most when people keep on assuming/ saying that she's been sponsored when there's no concrete evidence of their assumption/allegations. For me, those actions are slanderous. Jin Se yeon is a very nice and polite actress. I admit that she's not the best actress out there and still needs a lot of improvement in her acting, but still I don't think she deserves being labelled as b*tch etc just because of her mediocre acting. Therefore I really wish to see her improves her acting tremendously and shut those haters up. However, from what I've seen most haters are going to hate her continuously doesn't matter if she improves in her acting in the future. They just hate her to the core and refuse to watch any of her drama. How would they know she'll improve or not.

Man this is like the cruelest April Fool's ever, especially since there is an article in Korean linked somewhere (also dated today) that says she's up for that role?
She can't enunciate, can't form any natural-looking facial expressions (even that rictus in the photograph that's supposed to be a smile) and to top it all has a habit of running off dramas in the middle to do other dramas and leaving crews hanging in the live shoot.....why does she have an acting career, again?

I ACTUALLY LOVED her in GAKSITAL. She didn't strike me as a bad actress, at least I didn't get the feeling of dropping the drama because of how horrible everyone claims her to be.
She looks like she has an adorable cute personality, and I don't mind watching her as long as there is chemistry between them.
