Lee Sang-woo courted for All’s Well With a Happy Home

Oh wait, is Lee Pil-mo not the lead of this drama? You’d think when a guy gets cast to play Kim So-yeon’s husband, he’d be the hero. There’s no telling how the lovelines will actually go, but apparently marital status is nothing to fall back on, because now an offer is out to Lee Sang-woo (Please, Mom) to join the cast of MBC’s All’s Well With a Happy Home. And casting Lee Sang-woo in your weekend drama means he’s going to be your leading man, right?

Kim So-yeon is headlining the new weekender about a family that owns a Chinese restaurant. She’s the eldest daughter (of parents Kim Young-chul and Won Mi-kyung), who’s married to Lee Pil-mo. His family is wealthy and uptight, and the heroine has a difficult relationship with her haughty mother-in-law and a tense one with her cold, workaholic, perfectionist husband. Park Min-woo plays a chaebol heir, and Yoon Jin-yi is a lovable employee at the family restaurant.

Lee Sang-woo is being courted to play a genius doctor who’s always unkempt — his hair sticks up in odd places, his shirt buttons are misaligned, and his socks never match. Aw. He’s an easygoing character who volunteers a lot of his time as a general doctor, and he loves to camp and sleep out in the open. All we’re told about his love story is that he’ll meet a woman he’s not supposed to love. I’ll wager a guess that it has something to do with her being married to a cold workaholic.

I certainly wouldn’t mind Lee Sang-woo and Kim So-yeon together, but it’s a little sudden when he’s still romancing Eugene in KBS’s current weekender Please, Mom. If he signs on, he’ll have to jump straight from one drama set to the other, and we might get whiplash if he falls for another girl so quickly. He might do it because of his connection to the PD-writer team — he starred in their last project together, Feast of the Gods, and might forgo a break between dramas for their sake.

All’s Well With a Happy Home follows Mom in late February.

unkempt? His babyish, clean cut features and perfect smile and teeth make him one of the most naturally kempt actors out there. How can this guy possibly seem unkempt?

My sentiments exactly. The sooner we get him out of those clothes and into a shower, the better I'll like it.

They will make a great couple, but I like Lee Pil Mo too, I don't know who I will root for. I can't wait for the drama

I'd like the loveline to be Lee Pil-Mo and Lee Sang-Woo. That would be HILARIOUS but of course it won't happen.

Maybe his character will show up a bit later in the drama so he can at least have a short vacation.

Really hope he'll accept this role. Handsome guy "Lee Sang Woo" and beautiful girl "Kim So Yeon". Perfect couple!!! Can't wait for their chemistry.

WHY does he NEVER get the lead?? :( And WHY is he always in these interminable looong dramas that end up boring me to death! Is this his choice for a career path or is it that no one really thinks he is real leading man material? I just don't understand. Is he TOO lovable?

I always get concerned when actors and actresses jump from one project to another. Can that really be healthy? Still I like Lee Sang-woo and I'm ready for this show. (Though I'm not too crazy about the adultery aspect, but I'll still watch, I guess.)

Feast of the Gods... was that the drama that Joo Sang-Wook was in that switched lovelines?

Please don't do it Lee Sang Woo! No more long weekend dramas. I want to see you in a modern drama, how about cable?

I'm greedy and want him to take this on.

BUT, I wish he would shake off the good guy and expand a bit.

If he does this drama, please pick a shorter cable drama next that will let you sink your teeth into something meatier, more complex, a little dark...

I'd love to see him do an action role. Please, please!

I totally agree with you. I'd like to see him in something more substantial.
But no action for me though.

Love the cast. Awful premise. Can Lee Sang-woo go back to primetime already.

The love of camping is totally relevant in fleshing out his character into more than a trite amalgamation of weekend drama tropes. Definitely, it's not a cynical attempt at product placement substituting for actual writing. It was not ridiculous when Taecyeon did it, and it certainly won't be with Lee Sang-woo.

Currently watching him in Please Mom and it would feel weird for him to take on another drama right away since Please Mom is ending in the middle of February (I would still think of him as Hoon-jae n I'm still for Hoon-jae + Jin-Ae)!

But our Please Mom OTP couple aren't getting much screen time after getting married. And I feel like the writer has ended their story line. Plus, LSW and Eugene have very little of screen time together in past episodes so I would understand why LSW would pick another drama right away.

Noooooooo. Not Lee Pil Mo not getting the girl AGAIN ! Seriously, it's like Ji Soo, a curse ! Why are all the cute second lead syndrome never getting the girl and leaving us frustrated in the end ? Seriously, even in Pinnochio Lee Pil Mo didn't get the girl when, seriously, I don't see why not !

I'm so frustrated.

LSW did it in Feast of the Gods and he's the second lead in that drama.

I read somewhere that Lee Sang Woo is offered to play as Kim So Yeon's twin brother, isn't it? This article made me think there could be a love line competition in the story. Good. Now, can we have Kwak Si Yang as a contender? :)

No, That's news incorrect info and changed after that LSW was offered lead role not KSY's twins brother.
