Passing each other in the hallways of Weekday Afternoon Lovers

We’re about 3 weeks out until the premiere of Channel A’s upcoming melo Weekday Afternoon Lovers, and the show has released another teaser to keep up the anticipation for the show. This latest teaser features all four of our main leads, Lee Sang-yub (Top Star Yoo Baek), Park Ha-sun (Drinking Solo), Ye Ji-won (Thirty But Seventeen), and Jo Dong-hyuk (Rude Miss Young-ae), who appear to all convene in the same, blood-red-themed hotel.

The four leads make up the two adulterous affairs that will be at the center of the show. The teaser shows Lee Sang-yub making his way down a corridor, carrying a bouquet of flowers. He will be playing a high school biology teacher, and we can see that his career reflects his passion for nature, as he takes photos of plants and studies them in his home. On one of his outings, he comes across Park Ha-sun and the teaser’s caption reads, “I imagine myself running towards her every day.”

Next to make the walk down the maroon hallway is Park Ha-sun, who looks distinctly more nervous. She’s a housewife who works part-time at a grocery store, and it looks like she leads a pretty uneventful life, caring for her pet birds and making dinner for her husband, until she meets Lee Sang-yub, who takes her hand in the woods. The teaser asks us the question that I’m sure plagues her as she falls in love with a man who is not her husband: “Can love ever return?”

Ye Ji-won will play a serial adulteress, and her clothes and manner makes a stark contrast to Park Ha-sun, whom she passes in the hallway. A shot of her appearing like a loyal wife and mother gives way to her running into Jo Dong-hyuk’s studio, appearing frazzled. It sounds like Ye Ji-won is posing this question to Park Ha-sun when the teaser asks, “Have you ever loved a man other than your husband?”

It’s interesting that Ye Ji-won’s character, known for her noncommittal flings, falls so deeply for Jo Dong-hyuk’s tortured artist. He passes by Lee Sang-yub in the hallway with a single flower in hand and wearing a hopeful smile on his face. Jo Dong-hyuk, who is better known for his action roles, looks like he has the brooding artist aura down pat, and the teaser amplifies his character’s angst as the captions read, “Please tell me whether you want me as well…”

Channel A’s Weekday Afternoon Lovers will premiere on July 5, and will air on Fridays and Saturdays.

Find it a bit funny that when Ye Ji-won and Lee Sang-yub were in This Week, My Wife Will Have an Affair, the serial adulterer was her husband...
