OK, home now, because granny doesn’t have the time to stand around in crowds after the encore. Also, she really wanted to get into her PJs.

I did not realize that K-pop would actually start relatively on time, so I missed the first two songs 😢 but I figure he’ll be back and I’ll go again, so not gonna lose sleep over it. Plus, I saw almost all my faves performed, so it’s all good.

      BUT ALSO

I’m so glad you all convinced me to go. I had a good time, and I think I’ll be going to more concerts solo now. Now, if only Minzy and Amber weren’t both playing the same night in Dec. WHY?! (Leaning towards Amber, but my girl group bias is 2NE1 [RIP] so I’m torn. Also that venue is walkable from my place whereas Amber’s is…a bit of a trip.)

I’ve been working on my social anxiety, and this helped a lot. (It’s weird, I can stand up in court with minimal anxiety, but put me in a room of strangers and I want to disappear.)

Wow! It must have started early.

…yeah at 7. I’m used to shows starting at like 9ish, especially on a friday. But still, had fun AND got to be my granny self and home at a reasonable time. I didn’t even have to order a ride, it was early enough that the subway wasn’t shady. Well, not as shady. My line is always a little dank.

I think kickboxing and boxing lessons might have helped with the anxiety too.

So much. But there were a lot of factors that led to the anxiety going from mild and manageable for my entire life to crippling in the last few years. I’ve worked through a lot of them, and learned to listen to my gut and not put myself in situations which may trigger it.

        YAY \=^-^=/
Sucky that you missed the first two songs (I wonder what they were) but yay that you got all your favourites!! Tell me about it! How was the crowd? Is he as awesome live as I think he is?
Personally, I love going to concerts alone, like if I had the money it’d totally get addictive, because it’s like if I don’t know anyone then my anxiety isn’t an issue because I can just ignore them all lol, but I’m a bit weird hahaha.
And that’s a hard toss up man how rude of them to play on the same night!!! but yeah you should totally go to more hehe.

I’m going for Amber if I can somehow get to the venue tomorrow afternoon. I looked it up — it’s not where I thought it was and is only a 15 minute bus ride, so if I don’t have to go to dinner or whatever before 6 I may be able to run and get them. (Stupid fees have me refusing online again.)

Also pics and vids to come. I got all of Bermuda Triangle and bits of others. Will post and link to an album or something.

I got a ticket for Amber Liu in December today.

          Feeling emboldened now.

Oooh so awesome!! How was he? As awesome as he seems? Or even better??

Awesome! I loved it, such great energy. I will admit, the energy here was different from a lot of other concerts I’ve gone to, but not in a bad way. It was more…subdued? Polite? But still enthusiastic.

Also, it was in the theater where the best show I’ve ever seen was, so I had good vibes from the venue too. (That show was The Dresden Dolls – nothing has topped it for me yet and it’s been nine years.)

I kinda get it! Different kpop fandoms have different energies and Zico and his fans specially would, I feel, be more mature somehow..

Venue goes a long way in making the concert memorable!
I am going to my first concert ever in a week and I am hoping it goes really great!

I’m sure it will be awesome. Winner, right? That should be quite the show! I’m jealous and can’t wait to hear all about it. You never forget your first show, especially if it’s an artist you really love. And make sure to really enjoy the whole thing — the atmosphere, the people, the music. I still remember my first concert (U2) when I was in high school and it’s always stayed with me as a moment to look back on. I still remember the stage, our seats, the songs, the lighting – everything.
