Memories of Alhambra seems to pique my old ball & chain’s interest and he does not watch dramas. Waited for him to watch MoA Ep4 together since Sunday and I decided earlier tonight that he was not really that into it, so I watched the first 10 minutes when he arrived home from work……
Kimbap Ahjussi: “Hey, you didn’t wait for me!”
Kimbap Noona: “Oh you do want to continue watching? 😊 ”
KA sits down and joins.
KA: “Has she played the cello again for him?”
KN: “Uh….you mean guitar? 🙄”
Few minutes later….
KA: “Have you talked about this with your Beaner friends yet?”
KN: “Beaners?? 🤔😂 Uh No, I have been trying to avoid spoilers for the last 3 days.”
Toward the end of the episode:
KA: “Wait, go back. I think I missed some important information!”

MISSION ACCOMPLISHED! He is hooked! 😭 🎊🏹🎉💃
Writer-nim, you better deliver til’ the end! Otherwise Kimbap Ahjussi might swear off dramas for eternity!

    Yes, though he won’t admit he’s hooked. We are still at the stage where I just turn it on and let him slowly take the bait. I can’t make any fast moves, or any indication at all that he is enjoying it, but I did see that he has downloaded the Netflix app on his ipad. He’s headed out of town this weekend, and I think he’s preparing to catch the new episodes on his own.

      I tried the same tactics as Egads, but when he finally sat down, it was all the boring parts where no action was happening, so I have FAILED.

        The key is to catch him when he is already sitting (and perhaps playing a game like Mr. Egads was doing). Appropriately placed gasps and laughs may make him look at what you are watching to see what has made you react so. Even if, ultimately the process is still a failure, you will always have the enjoyment of Hyun Bin’s bad boy dimples gracing your screen. A win no matter what.

          LOL I sense a drama written basing on all of strategies! Is it so wrong to want our partners to take pleasure in the thing we treasure @jenmole and @egads? As Hyun Bin would describe as……MAGIC!

          @mayhemf, Kimbap Ahjussi did ask during episode 4 during the pregnant ex sobbing outburst scene when HB would log back into the game again 😂I had to try hard to entertain him by engaging in discussions of logic fails.

          I am really really hoping that PSH’s character will become much more integral to the plot soon, and not just serving as a wet blanket of a romantic interest. She deserves a meatier role!

            I want her to pick up a sword and cause some damage. Better yet, both the real life PSH character, and her virtual counterpoint Emma, should work together to make Hyun Bin regret his bargaining tactics and lowball offer for the hotel and intellectual rights of the game.

      I think I unknowingly did not even consider “oppa” as an option because I would like to reserve the that title for the men in my life on screen…..hehe

    LOL. I feel ya sister!!
    My husband is watching with me. He watched Mr.Sunshine too. I think as long as the plot moves at this pace he will continue.
    But he said he didn’t like the female lead and ask if she is a star in Korea!!
