Hi All who are watching Trap!! In Ep 1, do you know what was in the screen (please see screenshot), that got Det Bae to stop and go into the Convenience Store to buy something? This was 1 hour into the show 1:00:18 on my stream.

Just went back to check, freeze-frame and all…

I think all he saw was bad subtitling and/or bad directing 🙂 Or possibly future non-linear storytelling.

I didn’t see anything special, and the screen was a bit blurry and wasn’t even shown very long. So either:
1: You need to know Korean and read the blurry text
2: The relevant part needed to be subbed
3: They should have zoomed in on the important part of the screen
4: We need to wait until the other detective finds the critical clue in his notebook and we get a clearer flashback.
      5: All of the above.

I haven’t watched the episode yet, just read the recap, but from the screen shot I have no clue. Sorry.

I’ve tried to see what caught his attention here, but it’s too blurry to see anything. And it seems like the usual hint-at-something-important-and-suspenseful move from the director. At most, he probably saw an article about Woo-hyun or his secretary since this is the scene after he started being suspicious of the secretary’s odd comment.

@gadis You have a point there! It looked like some kind of news feed … a headline that alerted him. I was then wondering what he went off to buy from the store.

Oooh… Yea Idk what it was he was looking at but it could totally be something important that would be revealed later. Trap is that show that would pull the rug under your feet every two seconds and you’d still be surprised.

@strawberry Yeah, I do expect trap to ‘trap’ us and trip us up with red herrings. The camera lingered long enough on Det Bae staring at the screen that it should be a significant ‘thing’.

I had the same question myself. I agree with@lordcobol ‘s answer.
I’m sure we will get an explanation later.

I actually haven’t the faintest idea. To be honest I didn’t really think about it. I’ll agree with @lordcobol and assume it is one of the 5. It might also not have been anything that he saw, but rather something that he heard and it triggered something. Food for thought, hmmmmm.

@growingbeautifully I have the same question! Heh! …… I kind of concluded what @lordcobol mentioned here.

The way things are now, any little thing could mean something or nothing at all. Who knows!
