I have a theory on He is Psychometric! See the comments!
Including this screenshot because Ahn is adorable and that’s such a sweet thing to say 💚

My current theory (I haven’t finished ep 9 yet so this could be proven wrong already) but my current theory is that Sung Mo started the fire. He is the only person I can imagine Jae In’s father covering up for. SungMo probably doesn’t remember that he did it because he probably got some form of amnesia from the fall.

Eeeeeppsss really hoping he didn’t! will break my heart if Ahn and Jae In end up loathing Sung Mo for the tragedy he had brought in their families in exchange of his mom’s safety, if she’s really safe that is.

😱😱😱 I wish not, I really want Sung Mo to be a good guy! Does Sung Mo really can’t feel emotions? Young Sung Mo said that he can’t feel emotion but right now I think he can because he screams when in pain, he smiles sometimes, and he even cries too. Does alexithymia (is it the correct spelling?) a sickness that is curable?

It looks like it can be a response to a trauma (as one possibility), so maybe you can regain emotion if you had it to begin with? I take all of it with some skepticism since we’re relying on a drama and the internet for information rather than a professional who actually knows.

I had another thought. I’ve been approaching this from the angle of “why won’t Papa Yoon say anything?” The only other people I can think of that he would want to protect would be Jae In (who has admitted that she doesn’t remember that night well) and Lee Ahn. So maybe one of them could have started it by accident?

ohhh~ I support this theory. Even as early as ep 2 Sung Mo did say something that me reach my tinfoil..
( I only at ep 4 tho XD)

i was wondering this this and am seriously starting to believe it might be the case. The only wrinkle in the logic, for me, is why would the later fire (the senior care facility place, is it?) be a sort of copycat fire? I desperately hope it isn’t Sung-mo, for all the reasons others say here, but even this wrinkle in logic isn’t enough to completely make me abandon the idea ๐Ÿ™

      I finished ep 9. What’s your theory??

No theories! I’m too dumb for them. I just remember when I saw the composite sketch of the caretaker who stole the identities of the dead ladies, I felt like she resembled sung mo’s mother. But since he showed no reaction after seeing it, I brushed it off. Now I just think that he did a good job pretending not to know.

        What about you?

Oh. Yes! I definitely agree. She must be his mother.

Yeeep! Legit gasped to when I saw the facial composite and how it eerily looked like his mother! And suddenly the pieces started to fit, he hated touching this case, delving into it because of his mother.

since he showed no reaction after seeing it,

But, isn’t this his expertise? He doesn’t know fear. He can’t feel anything, so he has no emotions to show us ^__^

*side note* VIKI AT 70% 😱😱😱 I`m gonna run out of other shows to watch before I get to start ep 9. TT______TT

          3

Oooopps!!! I misread lol 70% was ep 10, not 9!!!! Huehehhehehe anyways I just finished watching ep 9. Wow. So many things going on!!!

What do you guys think? Does Hyung really got over his illness? I feel like that route would be too easy for a plot. Over the years, he could have learned, adapted, to how Normal people would react in certain why – if someone steps on your foot, youโ€™d yelp out OWWW! It doesnโ€™t mean he felt it, but rather he knows how to react normally to situations like that.

And oh my! I really think Kim and Sung Mo might have had worked together in hiding his mother, and now his mother has gone off missing.

Interesting how their childhood bond all started at the orphanage and how theyโ€™re all seem related. So Ahnโ€™s father was Ji Sooโ€™s fatherโ€™s Junior in the police. ๐Ÿค”

And oh no 💔 what an ending! So Iโ€™m gonna assume Sung Mo didnโ€™t tell Ahn that Yoon could be framed of the case. That was def not the look of someone who understood a framed-manโ€™s pain. Heโ€™s definitely blaming her father for what happened! I wonder why Sung Mo didnโ€™t clear this thing up.

Ironic for Ahn – he symphatized with Soo Hyun and Ji Eunโ€™s situation. That Ji Eun can be friends with Soo Hyun even if her father was the first one who witnessed against Ji Eunโ€™s father. Can they still be a couple amidst all this? Can Ahn still touch Ji Eun and have to see the face of the person who โ€œkilledโ€ his parents whenever he touches her? Can he be like Ji Eun who put everything behind her and ended up being close friends with Soo Hyun? Can he say it wasnโ€™t fault for begin her fatherโ€™s daughter and not condemn her? 🙃🙃🙃

I really hope sung mo didn’t set fire to the apartment to save his mother. Maybe he kept quiet all these years because that guy had hidden his mother and he had no choice but to go along with it. But now i guess he has resources to find her and is ready to reveal the truth. Also he probably felt guilty towards both the leads and that’s why he wanted them to meet, so An could use his abilities to find out the truth and exonerate her father. And he wanted An to read his mind so that maybe he could see his past and understand why he hid the truth all these years. I hope this is the case. Because it’ll be too painful if hyung turns out to have been an arsonist.

It looks like both 9 and 10 are fully subbed now 🎉🎉🎉
I was thinking the same thing about SungMo (that he might have learned to fake emotions). Although his pain did seem pretty genuine and he mentioned that his ankle scar hurt.
I hate the trope of “your-parent-did-something-bad-to-my-parent-so-we-can’t-be-together”. I was just watching Clean with Passion and ML’s grandfather’s company was building a building and due to some negligence on their part, the building collapsed killing FL’s mom. Of course, they fall in love not knowing all this and when FL finds out she breaks up with ML without even explaining why. It frustrated me so much! ML had done NOTHING wrong. And she wouldn’t even give him an explanation. I hope Psychometric doesn’t go down that road for too long.

I think I have more questions after watching episode 9 … (I said that in a good way, though).
