Itazura na Kiss comes to Korea

Group Eight, the producers who butchered adapted Hana Yori Dango into the hot mess that was Boys Before Flowers, is adapting another popular Japanese manga for Korean television: Itazura na Kiss, or Playful Kiss, which was turned into an anime series as well as the Taiwanese drama It Started With a Kiss.

(Waits for manga/anime/Tdrama fans to stop swearing angrily.)

Normally, I’d be all for a kdrama adaptation of what sounds like a cute romantic trendy drama, but Group Eight has pretty much lost its credibility with me after Boys Before Flowers. Not that I didn’t enjoy watching it, but it was nowhere near what it could, and should, have been. Group Eight is often mentioned as producing Goong, but that’s not strictly true (there was that production company split with Group Eight and Eight Peaks). The titles that Group Eight can claim as exclusively theirs are Fantasy Couple (okay) and Goong S (highly disappointing). On the other hand, they’re also doing Tamna the Island, which looks promising.

According to Group Eight president Song Byung-joon, the adaptation of Itazua na Kiss is next on their slate after Tamna, and they are currently in the planning stages. The licensing has been finalized and they are currently in the process of finding a scriptwriter. They are aiming to broadcast the series (I’ll use the Korean title, 장난스런 키스 or Playful Kiss) next summer.

Song did add that because the original manga never had an official ending (the writer passed away before finishing the series), the Korean version of Playful Kiss may choose to make its own, “entirely different, Korean-style ending.” Just as long as nobody dies of sudden cancer harboring a hidden birth secret, we hope.

@98 Ah yes! The soundtrack! Absolutely wonderful for ISWAK, every song was perfectly chosen. However, TKA was very disappointing, thanks to them getting most of the cast to sing, and the songs were all just bland.

Im dreading to hear what kind of OST they'll come up with for the Korean one. Im hoping its NOTHING like BOF.

actually, there was a jdrama version of itazura na kiss and it was aired in 1996, way before the twdrama version it started with a kiss in 2005. the jdrama had a cute lead actor, but it still has an old school feel to it probably because it was made in 1996. as for the twdrama, let's just say i forced myself to finish the first season (only because during those times i felt i had to finish everything i started on, but now i realized what a waste of time that reasoning was), but i couldn't bring myself to finish even 10 minutes of the second season. i'd probably watch the kdrama version if i like the actors because the story doesn't really do anything for me (because stupid girls?! wth).

as for the kdrama boys over flowers? i don't even want to go there, it is so not worth the time even for a degrading comment.

Well we can't have all leading ladies to get the man b/c they are beautiful, poor but smart, spunky/ stylish all the time . Iswak's got that typical storyline but w/ a twist, makes you wonder how it's really gonna work out b/n smart and dumb.ye like some people said I like the soundtrack.it's the only tw drama I like. I don't see the point in making another version but whatev. BOF was a no no for me.I didn't fall for any of the guys and saw no great chemistry.but it was a 'rich' drama alright.

@EM (101)

I loved the ISWAK sound track.... I used to play it everyday when I was watching the drama.. I've also been playing with thought of having it as my ringtone.. (Right now my ringtone is Okaeri from Absolute Boyfriend/Zettai Kareshi)

Sings: *Say that you love me.. say that you care*

I've already watched both the Japanese and Taiwanese versions. Personally, I thought Itazura no Kiss is so funny - loved both Sato Aiko and Kasiwabara Takashi, especially Sato Aiko. She made me laughed so hard. I watched this drama over and over again and never get bored with it.

On the other hand, It Started With A Kiss didn't move me a bit. It is quite dull and both the leads are not that great.

Looking forward to this new Korean version - Kim Bum and Kim So Eun might be a good choice>>> Their chemistry in BOF is incredible.

I saw a Japanese television live action version of this in crunchyroll (before it became legitimate lol), that starred one of the actors from Nana...can't remember the name. It was made more or less a decade ago. It was more appealing than the Taiwanese version.

I dont know how to react to this news...!?!!!

Well, the Anime ISWK has a special meaning for me, as its the entrance-ticket for me to Asian drama's. First Taiwanese and then my lovely Korean Dramas.
Its this animes fault that I get a K -Drama addict.

The T-Drama "It started with a Kiss" and its sequel "They Kiss Again" are really best stuff to watch .
Only City Hall topped it so far.

Because in both dramas the chemistry of the main characters are extra-ordinary.

In ISWK and TKA, Ariel Lin as Kotoko is incredible good. Playing a girl with an IQ of 100, which falls in pure love with a boy of an IQ of 160 played very very goo by Joe Chen as ZhiSu is the main plot. Those 2 actors had such a great chemistry, that even I was infected with the ARJOE (Ariel&Joe) Virus.

Well be warned...while whatching it, you sometimes get the urgent need to beat up Ariel (for beeing so naiv, stupid) and Joe (for being so arrogant and cold)...You always think, they do fit together, their characters are to different, but this keeps you not from being as stupid and naiv like Kotoko, to jope and longing for, that Zhisu starts to love her....^^

All the best is the Final part....!
Even the writer of this beautiful story did/could not finish it :((( The director did a great and. Like in City Hall...or better said vise versa...at the end every scene MADE A SENSE...starting from the 1st Part. It is a very very good bitter-sweet ending ^^
So I cant imagine a better one in the K-Drama
And...also...I cant imagine that the great performance, espacially of Ariel Lin can be topped...Show me an adequat korean actress....(maybe Moon Geun Yung ..but I have never seen her in a big comedy )

For the boy....I dont understand this Kim Bum hipe, in my eyes he is very much overrated. Let this be my oppinion. I do not want to offend anyone ^^

And will the K-version be able to capture the magic of the many beatiful sweet scenes, which made you high with happiness, like you are doped :)

So I will give the K-version definetly a try. But the T-version has and will for ever has a very special place in my heart. I laughed, ginned like an idiot, cried unconciously wth Ariel (when she begged for his love...while he couldnt cope with his jealousy...one of the best scenes, acting performce I will never forget in 2 nd seq.) it was wonderful journey to watch this beautiful romance...

So, for the one who never has seen the T-version, before you watch the K-version its a duty to watch the K-drama. :)
Unfortunatelly its hard to watch it online in good quality...:(
Maybe there are good quality online now...I hope so.

I did not watch BOF...as I have watched already 2 versions...Taiwanese and Japanese....so a 3rd version did not catch my interest anymore.
I hope that the K-Version of ISWAK will be in its own way good, too

My suggestion as main actors are "Kim Sun Ah & Cha Seo Wong" ...lol
At least the chemistry would fit 100000%

even if Group 8 says they will give a korean style of ending, i doubt it will be like a sad ending. Didn't they say the BBF will have a korean twist to the ending and still the main leads got together.

hmm...am just curious how they will make it into a kdrama knowing that from the title that it will and should have lots of kisses as I've seen from ISWAK and TKA , and boy they sure have lots of kisses from that one, not just kiss smack, as in passionate kisses and the leads did it almost believably thats why some of us here says that Ariel and Joe have great chemistry.....and as for Kdramas, with the exception of some that I could count on my fingers, the kisses are always just literally touching one lips from another lips and thats it, sometimes the only bonus we got is to see that 'kiss' from all angle when the camera start circling the two embraced and kissing (??) couple....but still I don't mind it, am still more a Kdrama fan than Twdrama and Jdrama...why? coz Kdramas undeniably has lots of eye candies in it!! lol!....but seriously, I also think that Koreans have more great and better actors than the other two....and now for Itazura na Kiss to be made into a Kdrama will look forward to it even if only want to know how's the 'kisses' will be in a Kdrama....

I know this day would come sooner or later.....i'm part excited and part "hmmm"...

It's a great T-drama....(especially part 2)....so hopefully it would also be great as a K-drama.....

But i do wondering whether or not the two lead can deliver a chemistry that is as amazing as arjoe.

@doris p NgPinas

Yes, they kissed a lot in ISWAK and TKA.....well the drama's title was the premisses :)

And you are right K-drama kisses are so boring....EXCEPTION :

Jo Gook KISSING Shin MiRae in CITY HALL (the kiss scene in the car is definetly one of the best onsreen kisses I have ever seen :) so sweet and tender .)
Now its funny to read this article, as when I watched the CH-Kiss....I was thiking, remembering that ISWAK-TKA had the same sweet ...lot of....kisses !!!

I wonder how they will realize this in the K-version....as korean dramas are to 99% so STINGY and disappointing with their kiss scenes :(

And I agree with some comments for playing the girl in the K-version.

The heart, not the stupidity has to be emphasised....Its needs a extraordinary performance from the actress to keep a fine balance to portray between the heart and the stupidity ( not a nice word really ). It has to be played by a very good young actress, not to remain in the shadow of Ariel Lin !

So in my eyes, the already suggested actors are not fitting...unless the K-version will show sth totally different from the Manga

Wow 105 comments!!

I love and adore ISWAK to bits. It is my all time favorite t-drama. Reading comments over the years makes me realise it is a love or hate it drama with no middle in the road. I can understand how people hate it because of the female lead's stupid and stalkish character. However, ISWAK's charm lies with its execution. T-dramas tend to be over the top and cheesy heavy, but not ISWAK. Director Winnie has put together a drama full of hearts, and he did it so understatedly as if snapshoting quietly bits and pieces of the intertwining years of Xiang Qin's and Zhi Shu's growing up. There is no over sensationalised drama. Wtaching it is like gowing up with the Yuan and Jiang families. If you ask an ISWAK lover what so great about it, I bet one thing they'd say is they love the whole cast. I love all the characters in ISWAK including Jiang Mama, Zhi Shu's obnoxious but cute younger brother, the tennis coach, and even the Jiang's family dog, not to mention the charcter played by Jiro Wang! You virtually become part of those two famiies and that little universe of theirs. Of course, ArJoe chemistry is a key to make this drama work. Ariel Lin's portrayal of this idiotic and persistent girl makes you cringe and love her at the same time.

I watched this two years ago, ie two years after it was aired, but still found very lively discussion of the drama at some forum where every character, scene and dialogue were discussed to death by international fans, kind of like cult classics discussion. I know this is a bit off topic but can't help relive my love for ISWAK. The OST is a standout compared to other t-dramas. Say that you love me, say that you care....I want to watch it again!

They Kiss Again the sequel is a different story. I didn't watch it in full but I love its ending which is deeply affecting and moving.

Back to the K-adaptation. My response is Oh No, not Group 8! And no Kim Bum/Kim So Eun either! The tragedy of BoF is its commercial success by virtue of the four hot guys hides its disastrous failure as a drama. Taking away the magical fun of the first 10-12 episodes and the star turn of Lee Min Ho, there's nothing much left to remember. The KK-KSE pairing was so promising early in the drama but in the end I just didn't care and all the KK caddish charm also dissipates into thin air.

Having said that, I think a young Yoon Eun Hye can pull out the Xiang Qin character very well. When watching ISWAK, I couldn't stop myself from comparing Xiang Qin to Goong's Shin Chae-kyung. They are just so similar. Is there a younger Yoon Eun Hye out there?

@115 epyc. You're totally right about Goong's Shin Chae-gyung comparison to Xiang Qin! I never noticed it before but now i can definitely see it. Yes, please, where can we find a younger Yoon Eun Hye to play Xiang Qin. I'm sure YEH is young enough to play Xiang Qin (YEH's the same age as Gu Hye Sun who played Jandi in BBF), but she probably wants to play bigger roles under better production companies. But YEH does have the right quality to play the female lead. She's a great actress and I don't think she's as conventionally pretty as the other actresses, but when she dresses up, she looks incredibly beautiful, and there is also something about her that makes her inner beauty shine inside out.

I luv ISWAK and TKA...great chemistry between the two leads.Ariel played her parts very well as being stupid/dumb and naive character as I re-call when I watch this T-version I would like to pinch her in my laptap so she would wake up from her stupidness but anyway it's called acting and laughing at the same time when she's trying very hard to learn her lessons while Joe played his part soo well as well. The last time I saw ISWAK and TKA is in crunchyroll but I don't know if it still there because the last time I noticed that they focus more on anime.

TKA, I luv it soo much as it focus, being a newly wed couple and her wanting to become a nurse for all the wrong reasons ha ha ha...

I don't like this one to have a re-make ,but what can we do it seems a trend now.
I am just hoping that the K-version will not butcher this one just like wha they did in Meteor garden and HYD...

But I really disliked how dumb Ariel's character is. I thought she was suppose to be clumsy not stupid?
Anyway, I'm looking forward to this for next year, and can't wait to hear who are casted~

@ 104 Me too. Used to have the whole album on constant repeat.
Ahh, Im feeling nostalgic haha, havent listened to it in a while, gonna listen to it now. hehe

@114 Yeah a lot of the time kdramas are disappointing with their kisses.
However there are still the gems out there. I remember Que Sera Sera had a lot, of course City Hall and others like Goong, Coffee Prince, Sam Soon

TKA did have a lot of kisses but I remember ISWAK only had 3 and they werent anything special. Stationary kisses. xD
Im hoping the korean ver. will actually take the title into account and give us something to be excited about. Although they may take into account their 'teen' audience and give us nothing like with BOF

Now that the Kdrama going to take over the Itazura na kiss fever... I guess there is a very very slim chance we will ever see ISWAK 3 or Precious kiss or whatever it was rumored to be called?? I know chances were little but deep down I still hope Winnie will end it with the story her husband released. I want to see mini Xiang Qin. =D

ERRR... I have mixed feelings about this- afraid that they will bomb it.. I watched MG, HYD and lastly BBF.. Could not go on further after the first 10 episodes of BBF. Came back after a break to see the ending (skipping all the repeats of drama..first NY then Macau...nice sceneries but storyline was BAD) Truly my first disappointment with Kdrama. Haven't seen one since.... (I used to watch a lot!!)

I am a late bloomer for Tdrama since I only watch ISWAK and TKA after BBF... I agree with Ginie that we could see the passion from the director. He truly made it with all his heart spending lots of hours (1 yr) to make a series representing his style. I like the not over the top drama in every second of the show and the sequel which showed their family interactions...

I better not start with Ariel and Joe. Lol.
Seriously.. I hated Ariel cause of XQ until I saw the real her... Totally different and I am her big fan now!! Yes.. like everyone else, XQ grew on me. It is her determination that kills me (with laughter). Japanese version is way more degrading on women than the TW version..Aiko couldn't stop SCREAMING!!!.They had a better and faster pace though/

I will have to wait and see the casting for now...

One more thing...what happened to the world of creativity? Do people still write scripts/storyline or is it all about adaptations..? Sigh

I think this would be another hard time for Group Eight to choose for leads.
But hey, there's always Kim So Eun & Kim Bum,;P
and others as well.^^
They'll surely take time for it. Coz the taiwanese version was great, the chemistry of the leads was phenomenal, and, yes, from the title of the drama, the kisses should be "kisses" not fake or just simple ones. If they really want to make it a hit, the leads should top ArJoe or just at their level.
I'm a fan of So Eun/Kim Bum tandem, seeing as the two have grown mature in their roles & acting after BOF, so I think they can pull off ISWAK.:)
So Eun said in an interview before, if she would have a kiss scene, she won't refuse, because it's part of being an actress, and her dream is to be a great actress, flexible in different roles & genres.:)
Kim Bum has done kissing scenes before, but to top Joe, he has to do better.:)
All in all, I'm excited for this adaptation.^^

And I think YEH is a good choice for the role. Besides, she seems to understand what it takes to make a good on-screen kiss i.e. Goong and Coffee Prince.

wow, reading all the different comments, some like ISWAK, some hated it.

Maybe it's just me. But I find ISWAK and TKA endearing. One, Ariel Lin trumps the character down cause she seriously lives out her character to the point you're like "Oh gosh, can she get anymore stupid than that?!" and it was balanced out nicely between the Japanese and Taiwanese specialities. True, it was not the best cause some flaws are so glaring it hurts like BOF. But being a Taiwanese drama with all their KUSO-ness, it's actually understandable.

I like TKA's ending cause though both characters learned to overcome their differences and commit more to the marriage, Xiang Qin (Ariel Lin's character) still has that silliness (like stepping on dog poo) which shows how real her character is. They changed but not like 180. Sometimes Kdrama characters don't sit well with me cause the main female was at first feisty then turned into a sobbing bag by midway and never recovered. Where is the consistency of her character?!

I like how the side stories held up well, like the romance between Ah Jin (Jiro Wang) and Christine, the parents of both sides, the brother, the best friends, the nursing group (that has to be the silliest nursing group i've ever seen) to the extent that it's really as if they were shot on candid instead of acting. true, the camera movement was migraine-inducing. true, some of the acting was less than great. true, she is as dumb as anything. true, you really don't know why he fell in love with her, etc.

But...

It has substance. It has chemistry. It has some character depth. (Not as much as Lee PilMo on Sol Pharmacy House XD)

So am I anticipating the Korean adaptation? You bet!

I just hope they do it with more Korean blend and a strong cast especially main female lead.

And get a good music director please. No more of that BOF mess. I agree with ppl who said that ISWAK soundtrack was good. TKA was not that good though. How bout the guy who did Tazza? Soulmate? Throw in SUJU KRY and I'll b very happy.

XD

main guy lead...lee min ho, nay. he has to act in other type of characters. this is too stereotype for him. can we have siwon? hehe. sorry was thinking bout how tall joe cheng was. and siwon in attack of pinup boys. siwon can get a little too greasy though. but he totally pull off that arrogant cold guy well, imho. I never got into the T version because I dislike Ariel Lin's acting; I just couldn't stand watching someone ACT dumb (as she did in it started with a kiss). It's also the reason I partially gave up on T dramas, for the reason that they think acting dumb/ditzy is a source of hilarity when it's just embarrassing for the girls who are forced to do it. I only watched about 2 episodes, and couldn't force myself to watch more, even seeing how popular it was. I hope the K version is good :). I disliked BoF overall but liked little segments of it... it's hard to like a series when you don't like the main character. I didn't like the main character, her acting, the actor herself. GL to this kdrama! I desperately need a good kdrama to attach myself to after the ending of Shining Inheritance </3.

Here we go again! The BOF days. I haven't seen that many comments for so long. Guess this new drama will prove to be another contentious one. :)

Scrolling through the comments, I find mine reflected in many of them. Namely, I love the manga to bits, just like I love BOF the manga. Secondly, no one has done a decent job of adapting these fav mangas. Thirdly, I AM looking forward to the Korean version even just for the laughs. I have not much confidence in the production team given their track record but I look forward to reading JB's ravings and rantings on this. Think we will see more of the latter - and what a fertile ground for your sarcasm/wit! That was the most enjoyable bit about BOF, reading your recaps. :D (other than watching Lee Min-ho)

Still, Group Eight: Please don't mess this up!.....or should I say... not too much.

I hope that this drama is just as good as the adaptation done by Goong and Fantasy Couple. I loved those dramas. As for Goong S... I never finished the drama. I found it too boring and the main girl's acting too awkward...

I hope they do a good job with choosing a cast this time. As much as I loved BOF, the casting was really awful. I think that Kim Bum was the only not awkward one (maybe due to experience)

okay so i know everyone is entitled to their own opinion....

BUT, for people that complain about Ariel Lin's acting in It Started With a Kiss: She was supposed to act dumb lol! If you've ever read the manga, the character Ariel portrayed was really like that (dumb, obsessed with the guy, etc). Ariel played her perfectly by the manga so don't blame her. If you have a problem with that character than just say you don't like the storyline, but REALLY that's how the author intended for it to be! (honestly I am not trying to offend anyone though)

well. hopefully, the ending isnt bad? i dont know, i really liked that the taiwanese production (It Started With a Kiss, and then They Kiss Again) was ended tastefully. I liked that the director chose to end the series where the manga ended, because it seemed really respectful to the original writer. It's sort of upsetting that there WILL be an ending, andit makes me sort of wary that Group 8 is in charge of this drama...

I have to say taiwanese sense of humor is not for everyone, even if they like asian drama style, I really enjoyed tw version by the time I saw it, I'm really eager to see this production even though it has the same production house of BBF haha.

Waiting for this.

As I've read the article about Korea is adapting another manga series - "Itazura Na Kiss", I was estatic & excited! I am an ardent fan of the Tdrama Version "ISWAK & TKA". It's one of my all time fave drama series of all time because of it's plot which is light, playful, upbeat & intoxicating. I was pretty satisfied with "Boys over Flowers except for Koo Hye Sun (let's be realistic) she is older than Lee Min Ho. However, she imparted her role so well.

I hope that Group Eight will choose their lead stars carefully in order to surpass ARIEL LIN & JOE CHENG's tandem. This duo is so natural in comes to acting esp. when they do their "kissing scenes", they are very fervent, impassioned in expressing their feelings & we can feel the love for each other. I've noticed Kdrama when it comes to "kissing scenes" they ARE NOT PASSIONATE!, it lacks sparks, sometimes is unemotional.
Facts of existence, when it comes to disclosing our feelings to someone we love we often use ostentatiously display of affection to the public, sometimes we "go overboard" we don't care what other say or think.

Sajangnim Song Byung-joon, I personally anticipating this manga series to it's Korean version that you the Group Eight may choose making its own, “entirely different, Korean-style ending.” Make this series as dignified as the Tdrama it self , hope you can promise the public as long as nobody dies of sudden cancer, harboring a hidden birth secret or a shocking twist on the very end. We are also hoping for a sequel like the TKA.

Well...at first I did not like the idea very much.

But as watching ISWAK againg, I tought...maybe, it could be interesting to watch a korean version. But I had big problems in imagining which korean actors could play them...Kim Bum...definetly NO !
Or this BOF actresesses...deifinetly NO, too!

So I was not very keen for this project....

But...at the moment I am watching TAMNA...and yesterday it made a click in my head.

The Exiler Park Gyu, played by the BOF actor IM JOO- HWAN is PERFECT.
He has this same cool, harsh attitude like Joe Cheng in ISWAK.
I love him...IJH is a good and convincing actor. I am totally sure he can play Joe Chengs part in a perfect way, with his own style...
Ahhh what an exciting thought :)

Even Seo Woo, who plays the girl In Tamna, who also has a very good chemistry with IM JOO HWAN, resembles Ariel Lin, and she is quit good playing, too

Both could be the perfect couple for the korean version, because even in Tamna they remind me of ISWAK :)

Geez, thr whole time while whatching Tamna, I was thinking, that both Park Gyu and Beo Jin, from Tamna are in someway familiar to me..That I do know them from somwhere, that they remind me all the time of somenone...

And then I got it. Thats how we say "the jeton dropped finallay" ...They reminded me of ISWAKs ArJoe :)

Yes, both should definetliy play the main leads of Iswaks korean version.
If they will play it, I am eager to watch this drama next summer :)

#147 @ jink

These are really really GREAT news. It was o hopless dream for us to see a season 3 of ISWAK....Now they are planning LAST KISS :)

Well, even fearing it could have an sad end (LAST KISS sounds so sad)
I will be happy to see ArJoe together again.
Season 3 will be definetly a more serious drama, regerding her loss of eyesight.
It will be I suppose a bitter sweet love story. Ahhh can't wait to watch it.

Thanks for this great news :)

Well...funny...then maybe the korean version Vol,1 will be shown the same time like taiwanese season 3 ????

Hope not so ;)

ok i like 1) hana yori dango followed by the korean and taiwanese version. I love to watch ituzura no kiss especially the japanese version. it is a classic idol drama in 1996. That was many years since i watch this drama.

At first i find kotoko very annoying because she overacted in the show and she is very loud. However, i started to like aiko sato in the drama as the story progress towards the ending. Sato Aiko actually make Kotoko silly, cute, funny and rough. But i am disappointed that the series ends so fast. It did not illustrate their story completely as compared to the taiwanese version. The best part of the drama is hottie ... Takashi Kashiwabara... He is extremely cute and handsome, cool....... Naoki.. He did a great job this popular drama. But i feel that more can be done to the storyline and characters. :)

The tw version of it started with a kiss is good. i actually enjoyed the show. Arjoe did a good job. But the sequel of TKA is very stupid - Ariel plays xiang qin in an annoying way. But i must admit that she is cute at times. The best part of this drama is that Arjoe have great chemistry, the story talk about the family, XQ, ZS, Ajin etc. Therefore it makes the whole series more complete.

The author of this animie did a great job. Hope that the K version will meet up to its expectation.

Japanese drama - Ituzura no Kiss is better than ISWAK and TKA.. Takashi Kashiwabara is more charming and act more convincing than Joe cheng.. Sato Aiko is funnier and more sensible than Ariel when she act as kotoko in INK. Japanese version is more enjoyable and all the actors and actresses are better. When i first watched this idol drama on tv , i was totally attracted to the story. After so many years, it is still a classic. let's just say each version has its own good and bad parts. But i will always support INK!

Hi lily....sorry but I have to disagree totally.

I watched last weekend till morning 6 am the japanese version.
kotoko was pure horror. bad bad acting. her stupid screamings, and idiotic grinings which made nearly 80% of the drama, I can honestly say ...it was absolutely annoying.
Irie-kun was played well...but missing the elequencyof and charme of Joe Cheng. He played him as the best.
And Ariel Lin played Kotoko very very good. Deeper and compared to japanese kotoko, at least bearable !
If someone says Ariel kotoko is annoying...go watch the japanese kotoko...Its nearly unbearable.

Even the Anime was better then the japanes version....!.
I stand it till 6 am, with hope of a u-turn...waiting for magic, till the end...but sorry, nothing like that happened. I have to admit I could not watch the last part of last episode...it has been removed from the net. I couldnt find it anywhere else..Missing episode is 9 (4/4 ), the final part !

In my opinion, even a bad NEW bad korean version will never ever be as awful as the japanese version. Thats impossible in my eyes.

Due to this I am looking forward for the korean version, because of the possibility to comaper it with the...Anime, japanese and tiwanese version.

And I hope IM JUN-HWA will play Irie-Kun :)

Joe Cheng and Takashi Kashiwabara are the main reason why i watch - It Started with a kiss. They are So HANDSOME....I really wonder if the K-version can be comparable with my two hunk! They played their parts so well... :) I hope the k-version will not ruin the beautiful story and i hope that the male lead will be good looking too. :)
