Is there anybody watching Jejoongwon? I watched ep 24 the other day and OMG! So awesome! My heart totally stopped for a minute halfway through it (ha, I'm being vague on purpose. I don't want to accidentally spoil someone). Thoughts? Reactions? Squee? Anyone?

@43 Biscuit
LOL Guess I'm not the only one who's going to do that? *G*

@Carinne
Re: Dong-Yi. I'm watching it. Well, I'll be watching ep 1 tonight. I take it you liked it? Oh my, I'll be watching too many kdramas as they air this time around. I'll go into kdrama overload or something. ^^

whadday like? angst? romcom? medical? legal? historical?

i just finished You're Beautiful and LOVED it (see rant above). currently watching Still Marry Me (the woman who still wants to marry) and am LOVING it!! both are very light and pretty fluffy, but very very well acted. was watching Story of a Man and have every intention to continue, but it's very emotional and deep.. and i just couldn't keep watching, but it's very very good. and before that, i watched City Hall. also very good.. the best chemistry i've ever seen between the leads. OTP for sure!!!

@52 Kim -

I would start here : http://www.dramabeans.com/about/ratings/

Then, depending on what you watched and how your feelings matched up against Javabeans, then I think ppl can start giving you recommendations for dramas...

@ kim

my twin above (@lb_tmi) suggested some good ones. If you wanna delve into older ones, try the classics (or what I consider classics anyway) - My Name Is Kim Sam Soon is absolutely wonderful. My Girl is also a favorite of mine. Both are lighter comedies and pretty easy to watch throughout. What's Up Fox is by the same writer as My Name Is Kim Sam Soon and i really enjoyed that one as well. You've come to the right place for suggestions as I'm sure you'll get a whole bunch from all different genres :)

i have never been to that page on DB. i'm surprised by some of the JB's ratings based off the recaps that i've read about them.. i guess i just assumed that JB liked the dramas if she was recapping them, but that wasn't always the case. interesting... props to JB for recapping dramas she didn't always consider "great". that takes a lot of effort, cuz i'd have just dropped the drama alltogether.

@lb_timi

erm..i don't mind angst or romcom.

The only medical drama i ever watched properly was surgeon bong dal hee . Legal? Nah, I've never touched one. Also, when it comes to historical dramas, I'm rather dunno..erm..impatient? I can never sit through them.

I was halfway through YB myself but for some reason...I didn't continue watching it after the exams. I'm sure that I'll pick it up again soon though.

I've watched like one episode of story of a man, but i don't know where to find the drama. Also, it seems like soam has a great tight storyline. =)

@ Samsooki,

Thank You. I'll make sure I'll check the page out and comment again.

@ Lovenyc52

Thank you for suggesting mnikss and my girl. I Heart Both of them because they made me laugh so much. :D

On the other hand, I haven't watched what's up fox. I know that GHJ is a wonderful actress but i have never watched any of her works either. On the other hand, I was watching the first two episodes of Cinderella's Sister and I'm already liking CJM in there. So, it got me thinking should i watch it, should i not. ^_^ lol.

CJM was utter smexiness in What's Up Fox... GHJ and CJM had incredible chemistry - so i say go for it! I only watched it recently and am really happy that I didn't watch it when it first came out.. otherwise the wait for CJM to finish his military service would have been interminable. But now he's back and I'm ready for Cinderella's Unni!!!!

Happy Easter Weekend OTers! (kisskiss)

OBGYNers:
I know, I know... it finished last week, but...
Viikii now has 16 up with subs, for those who have yet to see it. And additionally; here's a detailed, written recap of the last episode:
http://suhjisuk-1.weebly.com/episode-16.html
(I only discovered the recaps now! D'ohhh!)

@epyc
The last case about the heart transplant, it was echoing the theme from Summer Scent - the drama starring Song Seung Hun and Sohn Ye-jin.
Somehow it worked, and it was all the more poignant as it was the deceased mother's heart, beating for her baby. I'm so glad the patient found the baby and adopted him. I bawled.
It's hard to pinpoint my favourite patient stories I can easily say I liked every single one of them, but the traffic cop one (played by Sung Ji Ru) was epic, plus the baby with the skin condition whose father looked like an older So Jisub was another memorable one.

Once again, writer Choi Hee Ra deserves some praise for writing such a complex, sensitive set of moving stories and lovable characters, all interwoven with a fresh and snipy sense of humour. It was a mammoth task, yet she did it so beautifully. This drama didn't get the ratings but that makes this a a hidden gem.

Also, I love the OST. The majority of songs are easy to find on the net but the search for this instrumental was a bit more cumbersome. The cello part (which starts at 1.10) was in episode 1 first, when we first see Dr Lee outside a small clinic, with a stream of children chasing him around the front yard as he's kicking a football. It later became Dr Ahn's theme whenever he was frustrated or upset over something. All in all, it sums up the drama pretty well.
So here it is, for any OBGYN fan who wants it: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=QUXC6ZVG

OK, now onto newer dramas.
I've enjoyed watching Prosecutor Princess this week, but hoping it's not going to be too 'Legally Blonde'', that makes me think back to Reese Witherspoon and it's offputting. Kim Seo-yon is so much better than that, seriously. This can be a fun drama without having to compare it to 'that'.
Also watched Cinderella's Sister and CJM is LOVE!
I liked MGY too but I can only take so much of that teenage brat angst.
I personally think the acting is a bit OTT from everyone (apart from CJM), so much so that it's comical.
I hope the OTT and brashness calms down as I do like this drama overall and hope to continue watching it.
Also the fat kid, that's gunna be Taecyeon, right? Haha! I can see the resemblence already. :p

To the person asking for Reason Ave, they have one EP from what I know but for the soul of me I can't find it. I've found all the albums of all the songs on the CP soundtrack but this album has always eluded me. Its rather unfortunate, they sounded quite promising.

@ockoala / Mawang

One more word about Mawang - it helps if you watch it with really good subs. When we are dealing with Greek myth, Goethe and Rodin, you don't want to mess about. As usual, fansubs are the best. My official DVD box set calls the narcissus "daffodils", which would have been baffling had I not watched with excellent fansubs first.

@62 supah

OBGYN episode 16 with english sub is posted on mysoju but there's a message about heavy traffic right now. I'll see about accessing another site.

It's airing on our local korean station now....I think episode3 or 4.

I finally got my new TV this morning so I'm in heaven! :-)

Caught up with several dramas and have to wait for next postings. I was going over Catch A Falling Star....really chuckling over some of the episodes where it's getting pretty obvious that Kang-ha is falling for Pal-gang. This drama is also airing locally so I'm going to follow it again. Not sure where it is but from what I understand it's where he takes them to the amusement park.

I have to go back to check on Jejoongwon....last 3 episodes are through viikii so it's also showing heavy traffic notice.

Enjoy your weekend!

After watching episode 2 of CS, PT & PP...I must say, Cinderella Sister & Prosecutor Princess has the EDGE over Personal Taste!!! as of ep.2, that is!!!

CJM & MGY's acting + an edgy storyline...had me re-watch it twice already!!!

As for PP....it was KSY's OTT-comedic timing & Park Shi Hoo's jokester character...that really SOLD it for me!!! that scene wherein Ma Hye Ri was supposed to pay her debt to Hyun Ho...w/ a box of 1 dollar bills...w/ which he brought a money counter out...REALLY MADE ME LAUGH OUT LOUD!!!

Am so in love with these 3 dramas right now...feels like I'm in KDrama heaven!!! LOL!!!
Happy Easter everyone!!!

@18 Warm Hearts,
ever find an answer to your question re: Happiness in the Wind? i was on vac. for a week and missed eps #4-7, which isn't the end of the world, but at the beginning of a new drama, it's nice to see every one. Was hoping someone would have an answer to your question.

Saw Kim So Eun, Kang Jiseop, and the actress who plays Manse (sorry, forgot her name, the one from World They Lived In) on Happy Together. Yes, it was that freaking cold when they jumped from the bridge. The Han had frozen over and the director insisted that So Eun put her head under water. sheesh ~~ what dedication!

@nycgrl
Thank You so much for recommending this show. I've just finished ep 12 and will watch the rest tomorrow. What a beautiful drama, and it keeps on getting better with each episode.
I bawled, non-stop, from episodes 9-12.
It's ridiculous how much of a fabulous little actress the girl who plays Bom is! Really, it's lethal! And Dr Min's sexiness. I'm overwhelmed! Aiyyooosh!!

In return I highly recommend you check out OBGYN, it's got a Thank You-like condensed story in each of its episodes, really moving stories and brilliant acting by the regular cast and guests/cameos alike. (and my sexy Dr Wang is there to tempt you too... winkwink.)

okay... my first time on open thread :)

I watched Cinderella's Sister and Prosecutor Princess for this week... 2 out of 3... whew! im gonna watch Personal Taste later since my 'subbed' sources are not yet done subbing the two eps. LOL.

First off...
Cinderella's Sister is AWESOME! :) Moon Geun Young did great. It was just weird seeing her all mean and not smiling since I'm used to her teenybopperish sweet smiles in My Little Bride and Autumn in my Heart :) I think the last project that I watched that starred her was Innocent steps? gahh... a long time ago... i know... hahaha! She really evolved to the actress that I know she would be... ever since her acting has power and now... it escalated to AWESOMEness... Seo Woo balanced out Geun Young's iciness and that made the CS acting part powerful. The cast is great though I still have to see Taec's character since he hasn't come out of the show just yet. The story is good too. We're all used to watching Cinderella and not her stepsisters or for this matter, stepsister. And I think the writers were able to pull off a great script and timing for their scenes. Yeah... I'm all praises for this episode/s so i hope that CS would be able to carry this great start till the end :)

Next... Prosecutor Princess! yayy. After a dramatic drama c/o CS, a happy go lucky girl has graced my small screen yet again. (another PalKang! hahaha. But this time she's not dumb hahaha!) I thought I wouldn't like PP but after watching the first two episodes... I am all praises yet again. :) They made my heart flutter on the first two episodes especially the scenes between the Lawyer and Prosecutor HyeRi. The script is witty as well... pulling off an awesome character in Hye Ri. You may see a heartless girl in her at first but then you'd realize that she has a point. I just love how that writers are able to pull that kind of character off. And she's not the perfect character despite that flawless profile she has which is kind of realistic as well. I gotta say... I am looking forward for more HyeRi analogies/reality-check dialogues. :) And the girl playing HyeRi looks like SNSD's Jessica :)

@ 62 supah

Thanks a million for solving the mystery!! Summer Scent, of course. I know I've seen that storyline before and it's about a man and a woman, rather than mom-baby situation in OBGYN. It is so beautiful that they adopted that baby in the end, lots of tears shed at them and the older brother. OBGYN is such a fine drama and I will definitely watch out future works of Choi Hee Ra who really deserves high praise for writing her first major drama of this standard.

Glad that you are now travelling the Thank You journey!

nycgirl - Hope you could join the OBGYN club. You would like the sexy and cool Dr Wang, as said by Supah.

Of the new crops of dramas, I've only watched Oh My Lady and Personal Taste. Both are so far so good. LMH is holding his own in PT but SYJ is the shining light here playing her character to a T!

Also just started The Devil/Mawang - it is gripping. I am now up to Ep 6. It looks like a familiar storyline and I'm wondering how it can be played out in 20 episodes. But, with all these praises lashed on it, I am expecting surprises.... All thee leads are worth the watch. Back with more comments at the next OT. Not sure if I can finish it with a business trip coming up.

DWL lovers - what do you people think of Ep 8? I just love, love this episode. The heel/red dress scene is the most tender and adorable scene I've ever watched in a TW drama. Jerry Yan does show some leaps and bound here with his acting. Who would have guessed the J-E pairing can have that much chemistry?

Real life is so hard and tough sometimes that I'm glad to live in all these dramaworlds.

Aigooooooo!!!!!!! I got up at midnight to see if I could access OBGYN episode 16 and I DID!!!! Finally....it's all done! LOL LOL...... I love it! They sure threw in some blinders.....but the final gave the clue....Wang would moderate their wedding!!!! What a great ending! I loved the woman who received the heart transplant.....I'm sure it doesn't happen that way in real life....but it sure was effective!

And Mr. Creepy Crawler....I'm glad he got taken care of in the beginning of the episode....trying to make a deal!

I loved the way Wang stepped aside to make way....I don't think he was THAT interested in the head nurse. I felt that she was kinda jazzy for him.

But I sure loved the way Seo and Lee looked happy at the end and were all smiles!

Sighhhhh....now I can say OBGYN is DONE! :-)

Not that I love this drama but I LOVE Jang Hyuk as LDG. If only he didn't overdo the screaming so much...oh well, whatever, I still love him.

Anyway, I usually don't read spoilers, but I couldn't help it so now I'm not looking forward to the ending.

I hit the wrong key and sent the few words off! I'M FINISHED with OBGYN!!!!

Wow....loved it!!!!! LOL LOL....am not disappointed with how it all ended because the feeling is not something that is "NO".....it's if we feel the same way when he returns she'll accept him! I like that. And then he told Wang he could be the moderator at their (Seo and Lee) wedding!!! With an ending like that....there should be a 2nd sequel!!

And I'm with you on Prosecutor Princess! I'm enjoying that one! I really like the acting.....the female had me laughing cause I know she wouldn't have a chance to dress like that in the court system in the real world! I love Park Shi-hoo and the lead prosecutor! I know I'm going to enjoy this drama very much!

I haven't checked out CS yet....I think I'll sit on it for another day.

I'm looking forward to DWL....I know what's going to happen because I watched it in RAW version...but I want to read english sub to get the full story! That Jerry is such a sweetie pie!!!! I was in tears in the scene where he was crying! Wow....what a heart breaker!

Since I just got my new TV after being without one for a month....I got caught up 2 of my dramas. OBGYN just started airing last week and Catch A Falling Star is at episode 8....I think!

FUN....FUN!!!!

Have a restful weekend!

I'd better go to sleep, haven't slept since noon yesterday, just arrived in Morristown NJ. I like it here. Anyway, sleep, work out and shopping at Century 21 are on my agenda today. Oh and have to catch up with OBGYN. I see some links are fixed and some aren't. and all the new ones. It's going to be a plenty sweet afternoon.

hi all, happy easter !!

just would like to comment : personal taste and cinderella sister already available through vikii.net. personal taste is being subbed by around 12- 15 people..while cinderella sister is by 51 (ep 2) - 90 (ep 1)... its like .. wow !! no wonder the rating for cinderella sister is higher than PT.

soundtrack wise.. yup cinderella sister is better so far..

i just dont like the leading men.. wish they're LMH and KHJ hahaha.. btw Son Ye Jin seem to love to try new concept for korean. like in "wife got married" she cant not choose one of the guys.. so she prefer married to both of them... now she is trying 'gay" concept for korean drama...

if any of you watch korean reality show "we got married" jokwon n gain couple, then seeing Seulong in personal taste is hilarious.. its like watching a variety show hahaha...

well it just my mumbling... dont mind me..
happy weekend...

@ Enny : Thanks! I'm also surprised that it's been so hard to find out anything about Reason Ave, b/c that one single is great. The only vaguely promising website I found was this one:
http://www.maniadb.com/album.asp?a=206793&s=0&o=l
but it's in Korean and when I click on a track name it takes me to another site (Melon?) which is really ALL in Korean. Seems like an online store? but I can't figure out how to get to the Reason Ave album. I even tried to run it through Google Translate but it wouldn't work. It seems unreasonably complicated and the sense I'm getting is that maybe the EP wasn't commercially released... ?

I thought I would get a kick out of Prosecutor Princess.....but it's really turning into slapstick comedy with a so called prosecutor who is so "out of it".....it's not really funny anymore. She's so into herself and her physical appearance that it's making the legal system look ridiculous. The writers might be heading towards creating a change in her.....but I'm gonna get off the ride for now because I have to get rid of that "dumb blonde" stigma that is hanging out all over the place! the imbalance in characters is just a tad lop sided.

The only male who seems to be hitting it right is her boss (the chubbey balding guy) and he told her off....but she got the message really messed up!

Too bad our General Choi's role in this drama is making him look pretty pitiful!

Of course, it's only into episode 2.....sigghhhhhh.....

@epyc and nycgrl
Thank You:
Yes, I fell in love with it in episode 5.
This drama is darn flawless, as any of its flaws are deliberate flaws which are then addressed later as the plot develops.
One example is Young Shin, as a mother to a beautiful little 8yr old --living with AIDS-- I felt she was a bit naive and a silly, gangly lollipophead with no real weight to her, considering she's an adult who's endured a lot of hardships. But then we see that Dr Min sees things that way too and he gradually impels her towards asserting herself and acting more responsible. And we do see her character grow. I'm so proud of her already, sniff.
And Seuk Hyun, everytime I saw his face, I would instantly think bastardbastardbastardbast.... and cover up the screen so I didn't have to see his face. Come episode 12, et voila! Dr Min calls him exactly that and then calls out to the dog ''hey (insert dog's name), your son's here, come out and greet him.'' Hahaha!
I am hopelessly in love with Dr Min, ditto with Bom. What beautifully written characters.

I'm still not quite finished, but hope to share further thoughts on the drama once I'm done watching it.

@nycgrl -
Couldn't agree more about Korean child actors, I've been left stupefied many a time.
But that's also my beef against Chuno, I didn't like the way the little prince's character was written. Hai ho.

Haha... I know what you mean about PP. Still, I'm only watching it for the laughs and KSY is fabulaaasss! And I cannot get the theme song sung by SHINee outta my head.
If it does become unbearable later, I will drop it and watch something else funny instead - like Personal Taste and Still, Marry Me.
I need a substantial giggle-fest right now, before I begin watching all the upcoming melos, heavier stuff I'm dying to see i.e. Giant, Bad Guy, Road No.1, IRIS 2.

@91 supah

I'll check into PP when episode 3 comes out...just to see what is going on. It got unbearable because funny is funny but stupid is another thing.

You know the characters of Young Shin and Pal-gang are similar where they start out naive and then really grow in later episodes.

I can understand Young Shin because she grew up in the country and much of her growth is because of Dr. Min. I loved the scene where they are both drunk and walking along and he keeps waving his hand for her to keep walking and talking and finally she walks off the road and into the side of the field! And she's giggling about not eating rice cakes when she was young and that's why she keeps stumbling?

Of course, my favorite episodes have to do with 13 and 14....I'm just a real sucker for those scenes when it has to do with the emotional parts. Everytime I go through the chapel scene I cry.....it's the theme song that gets me going! Then in the hospital room where they have the dialogue about their pulse and heart rate? I have to smile when he mentions about his beating 10 times faster...does that make him a pervert? I also really love the connection between Min and Bom....and how that child got drawn to him from the beginning.

You know Oh My Lady isn't that terrible. It's getting interesting....

I've been following Jejoonwong off and on and it's a really good story. The acting is really good. There are quite a few other new dramas out....I'm taking my time.

chocopie is apparently alot like the mini moonpie. Sadly, moon pie being a mostly southern US kind of thing, that might not help alot. I think that in Canada there is a similar treat called a Wagonwheel.

Me, I'm a Dr Pepper and Moonpie kinda person.

I'm smiling because Dr. Pepper and Moonpie are quite a combo there! It looks like moonpie is chocolate but what's on the inside?

I've got some epals living in Canada maybe I can talk them into sending me a wagonwheel! :-)

@ 97 momosan, 98 eiko:

Choco pies? Dr Pepper? Hoot~hoot! My local Korean supermarket had a choco pie sale last Thurs. Lotte's premium choco pie 12/box @ US$0.99 ~ the catch: limit 3. My brother-in-law loves the choco pie + Dr. Pepper combo; as for me, sis, and my nieces love choco pie + root beer combo. I found a great deal, right? My first time buying choco pie, actually. First time tasting it too altogether to what a moonpie taste like; not really a practical snack item in my family.

I see choco pies selling on amazon(dot)com. There are many brands out there, I'm sure you can find it at your local Japanese market too (in Hawaii).
