Baek Sung-hyun takes over Running Shirt

Song Joong-ki was announced as the lead in MBC’s four-episode special drama Running Shirt, but now another actor has been announced in the role: Baek Sung-hyun (Accidental Couple). There has been no official news of Song dropping the project and he’s actually still listed as the lead, but it appears Baek is taking the role of main character Dae-gu.
I was looking forward to seeing Song Joong-ki heading Running Shirt (perhaps he’s busy filming Sungkyunkwan Scandal?), but Baek Sung-hyun has shown that he’s got a lot of potential as well. A former child actor, the now 21-year-old Baek’s earliest credits date back to when he was 5 (in 1994’s I Wish For What Is Forbidden); he had child roles in Damo and Marathon, then graduated to more grown-up acting in the recent Lee Jun-ik feature Like The Moon Escaping From Clouds.
Running Shirt airs in the gap between newly ended Personal Taste and the upcoming miniseries Road No. 1. (Another four-episode special, Living Without Incident, will air this week and next; Running Shirt takes over beginning June 9.)

The drama Gods are just not going to let me run away from Damo for even a second, are they? It's teenage Naeuri!!! He's grown up so fine (future ICOMYM member in the making, I see).
Isn't Running Shirt airing rather soon? It seems like such a last minute switcheroo, but if both actors are happy with the result, I'm cool with it. Good luck to Baek Sung-hyun on his (first?) leading role.
[and I'm dying to see Sungkyungkwan Scandal!]

my first reaction was no...and then i read baek sung hyun and i ws like yes!...i love song joong ki and was looking forward to seeing him in running short...bt ive seen him in 3 dramas in the past year and will definitely be in tuning in to watch Sunkyungwan scandal..so its not like ill miss him...bt ive only watched baek sung hyun in acciental couple and have been waiting for him to pick a new drama project since then...so i love this....nw my only complaint is that i wont be seeing enough of him cus its only 4 eps

LOL............. congratulations to him but aw.. hadn't joongki already taken promotional pictures for the drama? and isn't it airing very very soon......?
oh well. like @dannaluk said we should see plenty of sjk in sunkyungwan so i guess this news isn't too bad.

Isn't Sungkyungwan Scandal still missing a lead? Why not cast Baek Sung Hyun? I like his acting.

Oh my goodness, I just heard that Mickey Yoochun from DBSK is leading Sungkyunkwan Scandal!!!! This seems like awful news, especially because I'm such a fan of the original novel. Javabeans, what's your opinion on the cast for Sungkyunkwan Scandal? Should I be hoping for good (if not, tolerable) acting quality? Or am I just setting myself up for disappointment?

kinda confused.. if running shirt is after personal taste and personal taste already ended.. isnt it late to switch main actors?
i first saw and loved Baek Sung-hyun in Stairway to Heaven he played the younger version of kwon sang woo :)

Ah, Baek Sung Hyun. I fell in love with him as the child actor for Haeshin, and I've been stalking him ever since. Such good acting, I'll watch anything he does. >_> Except uh I think I gave up on that money one. Or something. But yeah. EVERYTHING ELSE OKAY.

I am really glad to hear about him so finallly!!!!
I love him since I had watched him in "Stairway of Heaven" drama but it's very nice and sad drama! Of course.......Oh my, Baek Sung Hyun look so handsome and cute (from this pic), yaayy! ^_________________^
