@ lahlita O.K. , You are one person I will never mess with :D
About the Coffee House craze, I just don't get it. There are fights breaking out on Viikii too. Which girl is the best. Which one is dumb ect... All the comments on the top of the page are just spoiling it for me.
I like CH but I loved My Country Calls. I think it got a bum rap. It had me rolling on the floor laughing. It started out kinda slow, but when the Ruy Jin ( not sure of spelling) entered the picture, he totally stole the show. I fell in love with his quirky character
I wish JB had done a recap on it. I would have loved to have heard her comments on it. I just watched it and thought, what would JB and Girlfriday say about this scene. :D
There are only 24 hours in a day. There are only so many things the Almighty JB and Girlfriday can do. They are only human like the rest of us. They have a life outside of Dramabeans too. We should not expect them to write recaps for every drama out there.
Just like I tell my kids : You get what you get, when you get it. If I hear whining, you just kissed it goodbye.
@didda Loved your poem. My sentiments exactly!!! :D
@88 nycgirl and @89 Lahlita
I loled at both of your comments, remind me NEVER to piss of either of you!
@Javabeans
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for creating this site, and writing these funny, witty articles. Your site has helped me go through some very tough times. I just wanted you to know that :) @--}----
haha, I love B&W. It's my favourite TW-drama of all time, and yes indeed the bromance is bromance-y to the extreme. And I agree on the cops/thriller aspect... though HIT didn't exactly have 'bromance', it did have a lil male-bonding between the detective team, which was pretty sweet. TBDAW I started to watch years ago... but the suspense was too suspenseful, lolll. My nails were getting too short because of all the nail-biting =P
@ Diadda
aaaaaah, I remember that! At one point, I started shipping the two brothers together. I think in one scene, they wake up in the same bed and start 'wrestling' with each other?? I'm pretty sure that was My Sister-In-Law was 19, LOL. Please correct me if I was wrong. I found it annoying how they kept on deferring the female to the other, because "That's my brother! I can't take his girl....". That plot-device was used way too many times in that drama. It was a really amusing watch though!
@ Nhu
Bromance in BOF/HYD? hmmmm, I wasn't able to appreciate anything in BOF, since the OST and acting (not to mention the scriptwriting and the characters) made me want to claw my eyes out. HYD on the other hand... I loved. I haven't rewatched it in two years, and I totally cannot remember if it had bromance at all, LOL. I think I require a rewatch! Speaking of Jdramas... they tend to have more friendship-based dramas, and therefore more bromance in general. LOL, I think I need to switch over to Jdramas for a few weeks now, to get my bromance-fix ^_~
@ A.
i still end up watched all the game (except Brazil vs Ivory coast) even thought i'm not enjoy it as much, there is no great game in this WC. no great player...and Robben and Bommel play dirty game indeed.just hope the last game will be the best game of the tournament. but nomarly the final is alway plucky.
I'm such a bandwagoner, but only because I took a break to visit the Sport's Guy on his take on "The LeBacle" - but thank you for that ridiculous awesome poem. :-D
Not only did they pass the girl back and forth like she had the plague. The director kept doing these slow motion hugging and couple chasing sequences between them. Heck the day the elder bother stood up the female lead to be with his younger brother and play basketball and eat ice cream I really thought wow, they should just admit it and get a room.
_________
As for the ode, it is how a feel. And thanks for being here! I shall attempt dirty limericks next week :)
I am currently watching Exhibition of Fireworks and omg Kang Ji Hwan is Wonderful!!! If I wasn't in love with him already, this show would finish me off. I am currently on ep 8 and so far the story is pretty great. Lots of cute and funny moments, and there was this particular scene where KJH walks out of the dressing room with his shirt open with such a look on his face, *fans self* I rewinded that part over and over again. So, if you guys are in Coffee House withdrawal I highly recommend that you check it out! :)
P.s. I have a question about Korean culture. In this drama KJH is in love with his deceased brother's fiancee. The brother has been dead for two years already, but the characters act as though it is a very great social taboo for the two of them to be together. I kinda get that it might be a little iffy, but really what is the big deal? Please, I would really appreciate some clarification, I feel like I am missing something important here. Thank You! :)

@nycgirl your soup kitchen story reminds me of this time I went to subway, and there was a homeless person sitting outside. She asked me if I could share with her, and I figured since I normally get a footlong and keep half for later anyways, I'll give her half.
So the woman walks into subway with me, and I order my usual tuna. "Can't you get a BLT? I don't really like tuna.' sigh. So I get a six inch tuna and a six inch BLT. Give her her sandwich and the chips, and take my sandwich and the drink.
I sit down to eat and she walks outside. About 5 minutes later, she walks back in with a half empty bag of chips, and demands a new bag of chips because the ones she has are stale....
Anyways, thanks Javabeans for all you do! I've been lurking around for about a year before I started commenting recently, and I think you're doing a great job!
Yeah, I've watched pretty much every game. There is no great game, no great player... you're right. This world cup has been a disappointment in terms of seeing true, beautiful soccer played right. I thought I saw glimpses of that in the Spain team and the German team, and even in my other favorite the Brazil team (LOL, all 3 of them are my favorites).... but in the end, it turned out to be very disappointing. This is a very disappointing world cup, in general.
Really, the Dutch really don't deserve to win the world cup. Especially after the dirty games they've played... Ugh. Disgusted.
Demand? WTF? Who do these people think they are? RUDE!
@ ockoala
I saw the raw for HnH2 on d-addicts and was tempted to dl it and watch without subtitles ... but I don't think I want to spoil it for myself. Sounds hilarious. Coincidentally the other half was watching "Ichi" last night and the lead chick is Ayase Haruka and I shouted out: "oi, that's Hotaru!" The other half was like, "who?" Will need to put in HnH1 for him to see.
I equate my love for Ayase Haruka to my love for Ariel Lin. They both can tackle ANY role, dark, light or weepy.
I'm currently also watching Ayase in Tatta Hitotsu no Koi with Kame. Normally I flee from Kame as if I saw a skunk approaching at three o'clock out of the corner of my eye. Nobuta was perfection because of all the slashy Kame-Pi love, but Kame all by his lonesome I thought would be unbearable.
And I am wrong. He is marvelous in THnK, matching Ayase beat for beat. In fact, I like his performance even better than Ayase's (so far). Ayase has this ability to melt into any role, so I'm not left screaming "hey, that's Hotaru!" when I'm watching THnK or yelling "hey, that's Nao, where's Hiroto, why is Nao with Bucho? when I'm watching HnH2

Oh my. I hope my previous comment about CH episode 12 didn't sound demanding. Still, my apologies to Javabeans if it irritated her in one way or another. :-(
I hopped over to the KHJ post and I was pretty shocked. 410 comments when I checked. I was like WOW but when I read some pretty rude ones...it made me so sad.
@lessaofpern, I'm a Coffee House fan but I stay out of the shipper wars. Reading their comments can be quite really stressful. I wonder where these fans get the stamina to fight over a drama. LOL.
@Oh! Tht! Chick!
I am only up to ep 8, but I think I can see the foreshadowing of the indecisiveness. But I am really keeping my fingers crossed that they keep up the zippy fun of the first few episodes.
So, what number OT is the KJH thread everyone is talking about? I am sorta curious now. :)
There are also the vegan homeless constituents who were very vocal and demanded vegan alternatives to the soup and milk but they were just plain nutty funny.
But the guy who takes the cake is the frighteningly large homeless guy who punched me because I wouldn't let him cut in line and then had the balls to deny it to the cops who saw him do it. Yup I had the pleasure of seeing his ass get hauled away.
@ diadda
To quote the esteemable girlfriday "dirty limerick! dirty limerick!"
@ 121 Han Mania : I'm with you. That shipper-war stuff exhausts and vexes me. Months ago I realized that Coffee House + Soompi = desire to pitchfork my own eyeballs out. Once in a while, JB will rein in the shippers on here, but then they get out of control again.
As for the KHJ posts, I was up till midnight refreshing. Annie B's post was EPIC. Like, it was so fail that it circled back to EPIC! When I read her post I was all, Oh, hail, NO SHE DI'N'T!" I swear, I legit popped some Orville Redenbacher in my microwave, grabbed a can of Pepsi and waited for Shxt To Get Real. And it did.
@ 123 diadda : You are the coolest person in the world. Naughty git. :-)
@ 124 girlfriday : If you're requesting dirty limericks, you should totally expand this site to include K-dramatic fanfic and literotica. You'd be amazed (read: disturbed) at some of the filth your readers can come up with. You'd never read again. But I wouldn't contribute, of course. Because I'm pure like dat. I'm pure like snow that hasn't even fallen yet!
Can you bleep the dirty diry words, diadda? Satisfy girlfriday and nycgrl and lb_tmi, and keep this site PG. 8-) Just a suggestion, is all. Also, the power of the imagination. If I see a bleeped out word, my mind immediately wanders into pastures not suitable for children.
In all honesty I haven't done poems like this in a very very long time. I used to write them allll the time. I always had fun doing them to. Also I don't want to be too dirty with the limericks. I will try to keep next weeks 15 and under.
And any time Girlfriday or Java or anyone needs one for a pick me up I will do my best to make it. I am always around any more. Once I found this site I don't think I ever left but for work sleep and dramas.
I am emboldened by Diada's example. Here is a poem I wrote a while ago. I titled it addiction/ descent into drama land. Seriously if I had my druthers I would just watch dramas all day and never come out of the house. ;)
Descent
Down and down the rabbit hole
fall farther and farther until all
the lights are dimmed by the swan
colored song of the wind that whispers
through the under earth and strokes
the necks of the eyeless fishes darting
glittering jeweled forms in geode
of inky lakes, unseen unmourned
by the world of light left behind
to hide in the hollow dark bones
of the earth until bleached pale
of all traces of the sun and become
like those blind fishes unable
to recognize any other world.
@ viola
u should watch capital scandal if u've not done so already! now that is one fine KJH watch! i watched it during the 2 week CH hiatus and it was AWESOME! highly highly recommend it!!
Lahlita I so agree with you about the disturbing nature of fanfiction. Trawling through fanfiction.net is like taking a stroll through the darkest recess of the human psyche. I went through an Inuyasha phase, and in my pureness( only of the unremarkable driven snow variety. Not like your pureness which is akin to snow that hasn't even fallen) I clicked on a title that looked interesting............. :( let's just say pedophelic, incestuous rape. BRAIN BLEACH!!!
@ Diada
Thank You! Your finger snaps totally reminded me of my poetry workshop peeps. Cool shade! Please swing by my freezing garret sometime, I don't have cookies but the absinthe is free ;)
Glad all the sane people have decided to come out today because it was raining crazies yesterday. Crazies on a time-sharing-brain-cell program.
@A.

Best M/F friendship is between Shin Mi Rae and Lee Jung Do in City Hall.
It’s mature, complex, deep, loyal and they support each other’s careers. Best, best, best. I can’t think of any that can compare (except maybe for Annette and Roman in AWZ).
Best bromance (s):
The 3 Coffee Princes and EunChan (D’Artagnan and the 3 muskateers)
And
Black & White
I can only do this in French so here it goes:
Javbeans and girlfriday sont les déèsses de la prose
D’elles les mots tombent comme des pétales de roses
Leurs paroles laissent parfois des echymoses
Elles utilisent toutes les armes dont elles disposent
Et d’outre-mer leurs admiratrices émerveillées
Reviennent de semaine en semaine pour être épatées
@ lessa of pern
thank you! nice to meet another Anne McCaffery fan! :)
@lb _tmi
Thank you!
@oh! tht! chick!
I watched the first two episodes, and instead of gorging the whole series like I usually do, I am savoring the episodes. Because after this I don't have anymore KJH series to watch :(
Last one of the day, off to sleep now. but I felt it only fair since I wrote one for Girlfriday I do one for Java to.
I once met a gal named Java
whose recaps were hot like lava.
We did a moon dance
when we pulled down our pants
And served fangirls with chianti and fava
Ok I swear next week no fangirl bashing since i am one too. I just couldn't help it considering the circumstances. All drama related and dirtier.
When I logged onto DB yesterday and saw the post re KHJ taking the lead on Playful Kiss, I think the comments log was up to 340 already. I decided that I shouldn't open it up to save myself the hassle. But it sounds like there is some heated convo going on over there so maybe I should just take a little wander ....
@ ockoala - where are you watching HnH2 with subs? Or are you fluent in Japanese too?
Did someone mention Black & White ... the awesome TWdrama? I heart. Defo bromance.
eh i say the flying dutchmen will be soaring this year.... I was pretty bummed when van der wiel got suspended the last time. the spaniards are just lucky enough to get through the finals this wc season. Well better than the nazis playing holland this sunday aye.
Anyways, i still don't get the KHJ hate. But eh. i wouldve killed for jang geun seuk to play the lead role. Boy is sexy as hale, and a psh-jgs pairing wont hurt anyone now would it?
@ diada
sorry for double posting, but I forgot to say how awesome the moon dance part was. Well the entire poem was awesome, but line slayed me like Hyun Bin's dimples :)
I second @ockoala HnH2 is DA BOMB! I particularly heart the use of those newspaper by Buchou~ after THAT OMG scene. And I approve Mukai Osamu 向井理, he's holding his own against our himono onna/ buchou~ O!T!P!
I'm surprising hubs w/ an impromptu date before a family wkend trip and we decided on watching HnH2 (rewatch for me) on my laptop at some random coffee shop w/ good cake after some golf! :)
@ 138 Viola
You are cracking me up. I was only introduced to fanfiction about four years ago. I'm not sure how I managed to get to adulthood without knowing what it was. I'm not sure where you live, but here in the US there's this show called Heroes and during the first season the "bond" between the Petrelli brothers Peter and Nathan was all the rage. A friend of mine gave me a link to some fanfic. I'm expecting a cute little take on established canon and I got ... Petrellibros S&M slash-fic. I was like ... I don't even ... blargh! I will never have children. Or if I do, I will never leave them alone together. Thanks to that story, I can never trust siblings to not be crazed S&M, incestuous freak-shows. That's how messed up this stuff was. So I guess I was lying about my being as pure as show that hasn't even fallen yet. The snow has fallen. And been peed on.
@ 142 diadda
I too am a bit of a fangirl, but I'm not gonna let that stop me from partaking in this repast. So tonight we dine! Seasoned fangrill with favabeans and a nice chianti. It's Lecterlicious!
Why am I not surprised "I particularly heart the use of those newspaper by Buchou" is your favorite moment in ep.1 of HnH2? It's mine as well! Quelle non surprise, eh! It was perfectly in character - for both of them - and so funny and adorable I literally started snorting in laughter.
And why is it when Hotaru/Ayase starts OPW and going "Buuuuuchooooo" I find it endearing rather than wanting to KILL BORA on her arse? Probably because her Bucho just walks away from her like a sane man would.
You know, the array of recent hot kisses(coffee house, bad guy) makes me wonder, why don't they EVER kiss on the neck. I mean I've seen bed scenes where they just skip the kiss on the neck and was just curious if kdramas had something against them. I don't know, just wondering.

@lessaofpern, I'm a Coffee House fan but I stay out of the shipper wars. Reading their comments can be quite really stressful. I wonder where these fans get the stamina to fight over a drama. LOL.

@Oh! Tht! Chick!
I am only up to ep 8, but I think I can see the foreshadowing of the indecisiveness. But I am really keeping my fingers crossed that they keep up the zippy fun of the first few episodes.
So, what number OT is the KJH thread everyone is talking about? I am sorta curious now. :)

@JB

Glad all the sane people have decided to come out today because it was raining crazies yesterday. Crazies on a time-sharing-brain-cell program.

Take it to the stage Mr. von Bom Bom!

@ 140 msim
Bravo! J'aime beaucoup votre poème! S'il vous plait, pouvez-vous écrire quelque chose d'autre?
