It's been almost a full day now and I'm totally amazed at the kerfluffal that thundie's mash-up post is still generating. The comment count is over 250+ and still going.
I had no idea that so many K-drama watchers have no sense of humor when it comes to this kind of thing. I mean, how is it possible that the title alone! didn't clue them in?!
Personally, I adore this kind of creative snarkism. We used to do mash-up stories and titles all the time at one of my literary-type blog sites. Anyone interested in some fun?
If so, the rules are:
You can only use K-drama titles.
The "connector" words can't exceed five.
Example:
King Gwanggaeto the Great spun in drunken, dizzy circles ......
finally able to catch up with Scent of a Woman. =P
I've been crying since episode 8. I've reached episode 10 and my tissue paper roll is almost used up. Episode 11 will be a torture but I'm watching anyway. I'm so in love with Wookie that I can't stop watching even though it's making me cry.
I will have to watch Protect the Boss after this to feel better. :)
I suggest having tissues and water ready while watching, coz I think I got dehydrated from all the crying that I ran out of tears before I ran out of tissue paper. Really. :P The chocolate will be useful after watching to pick up your mood. ;)
I long for the episode when the show becomes light and swoon-causing again.
i cannot picture him that but cant wait regardless!!!!!
it seems that you dont listen to his songs and love him more as the puppy he is, but i love his songs especially the pop-rock ones during his debut days (i do love his sweet voice and songs he has now too anyway), so cant wait for this ^^ i wonder what you think about him as a singer.
I'm alive! And so's all the rest of the city ;) No power loss, got water and gas...this is better than I was doing last week with clear skies!
Now I just have to figure out how to get to work >.<
*HUGS!* MJP unnie, Jumma Bunny, laya, Shiku, Schmazel, Izzy 'Brella ( :) ), YRH, um....um....IzOcha, ck01-something-something, Jomo the Wise, Viola Darling *kiss kiss*, Sam and everyone else I can't remember but adore as I dash this off before getting myself ready for the morning.
hugs prindley!
have a great week! the tree in front of my house lost a few branches and the basement is flooded and smells! ( I was in zone a I live right off the east river) but over all everything is fine. My work sprung for car service but I'll probably have to take public transit home.
Aw, that sucks about the flooding. I've had to deal with it at work before and it definitely stinks.
But go you with morning car service! I hop-stopped about 5 different bus routes to work, all of which would have had me on at least 3 different buses and taken over an hour. Luckily that 1st bus was right near my regular train and I could hear them rumbling underground when they finally got to me. I was a little late, but it wasn't too bad. How'd it go for you this morning? How long do you think you'll be flooded?
I'll be flooded for as long as the landlord takes to come and dry it out. there's just junk in the basement and boilers and so on. My car service came with a price I had to be at work at 7am and I overslept and the cab waited 25 minutes for me ( I will have to pay for that!) the mta website says the 7 train has good service so I should be fine tonight.
I have that song on With by so young eun and jung yup stuck in my head "I ko ji kat eun mal". I think it's on this site some where, or at least on mediafire. My romanji might be off
BAEK DONG SOO 1.0: Cute, funny. Not as cool as Yoo Seung Ho.
(3 years later . . .)
BAEK DONG SOO 2.0: *GASP* *CAN'T BREATHE* *PASSES OUT*
People . . people . . forget Yo Seung Ho. No . . wait . . forget CITY HUNTER Lee Min Ho . . . . . Ji Chang Wook transforms into a walking God of Sex. He's Mushashi-meets-Bidam-meets-Jedi Knight.
When the show's good (Jin Joo), it's better than Chuno. Jang Hyuk is becoming a great actor, but Choi Min Soo is still the genius, the great master actor of Korean drama. When he finally has to play Chun straight and gives him the good guy turn (i.e. quits drinking for daughter), I mean, the entire nation of Korea flips on the "Tae Soo!! Tae Soo!!" love meme. When the show's not so good (Nun Chic), it still plays like Iljimae-meets-Naruto, and it still works.
The big surprise of the show is Jin Joo and her storyline. It almost feels like the first half of the show is Dong Soo's coming of age, and the 2nd half turns into a complex, truly wonderful family drama that. And, truly, you don't see it coming, because that storyline sneaks up on you. Episode 18 has just beautiful, subtle acting and its conclusion is both devastating yet romantic.
That said, Dong Soo and Yeo Woon's bromantic rivalry over Nun Chic is . . . meh.
Can't emphasize enough . . . Choi Min Soo and Jun Kwang Ryul's big acting turns (as well as Chun's makeshift arrangement for . . . sigh . . . I'm sorry -- I can't hate Chun after that . . .) in Episode 18 are the stuff of acting greats. Unfortunately, started to piss me off when they went away for Nun Chic's Ginseng Intrigue Storyline. Yay.

Fantastic music selection, as always. Thank you! Got me all high now. I need to find a resourceful outlet to drain my angst.

I think it would be nice if a recapper comes from the same culture as the drama and is a bit experienced in life.
