Oh Snap! Seo Kang-joon takes perfectly nice photos

Pictured here for W Korea, rising (and somewhat contested as of late) star Seo Kang-joon proves that he can take perfectly acceptable, easy-to-look-at photographs. If nothing else, they’re a nice break for the optic stems, which is all some shoots can ask for.

Still, I’m kind of ready for the spring trend of eggshell colors to be over and done with, but at least the fashion featured in this spread seems comfortable, wearable, and stylish. Unfortunately though, it looks like socks aren’t coming back in vogue anytime soon, so it’s ankles galore until then.

I really hate this trend of footie socks that make it look like you're not wearing socks at all. It's just gross to stuff your feet into a leather shoe without something to wick the sweat away. So, instead of thinking "sexy ankles" I keep thinking "your pant legs are too short and you've jammed your feet into shoes without padding; uncomfortable and gross."

I think part of the reason that many of us assume that they're not wearing liner socks is that since shoes are routinely slipped on and off in Korea as people enter and exit homes, we often see guys taking off their shoes-- I've yet to see a guy wearing liner socks. Also, I know a lot of guys who go sockless, and never met one in real life (that I know of) who wears liner socks. Maybe someone needs to do some PPL for manly liner socks, lol.

I don't like the sockless trend for hygiene reasons, but I agree with you that sometimes the positive/negative space thing can be aesthetically pleasing, if the pants are long enough (as they are in this shoot). However, I hate the look of mens' pants that are hemmed above the ankles.

Geez. Am I getting scolded for not liking the way footie socks look?

(Click Bait Title, "You won't believe the way beanie Netizans fight over to sock or not to sock.")

Can I not voice my preference? (But it's okay if you like the naked ankle look. I'm not judging you, I just happen to like "see-able" socks.

For me it's a function of the shoes and season. Love the summery look of no socks with loafers, deck and canvas shoes. Like socks with all cool weather clothing, athletic shoes and formal footwear.

That said, love this spread. He wears clothes well and looks refreshingly classy. The concept a nice break from the attention-seeking outlandish ones they've been showing lately.

Yeah... Apparently, he only shot with those shoes for like 20 min and change to the other. I know socks are 'classic' but if there is something different but got the same use, why not? Fashion doesn't always need socks.

Right?? Granted you can buy also the short socks for flats, but saying that it is gross to stick your feet in shoes without socks is ridiculous. So girls (I am a girl btw) can wear high heels, and flats without shoes but when guys wear shoes without socks it's gross? Really??

I think he looks very fashionable, modest and...may I say, refreshingly appropriate. He is masculine, but not overbearingly so. Overall, he is VERY pleasing.

As for the controversy, I just feel extreme pity for him and the rest of the Cheese in the Trap actors. Only Park spoke out, so he came out smelling like a rose, but the other actors (especially Seo Kang-Joon regarding his "sponsorship" nonsense! Yech!) came out with a smudge on their character. The entire scandal was so frustrating to witness.

Hopefully, he will (and the other actors that bore the brunt of the accusations) will recover from that debacle and continue to make great dramas, movies, etc...

I don’t usually go to sites and make comments using my job knowledge rather than writing from a fan’s perspective. SKJ is from a middle income family with parents who work hard and of the group Surprise, he really did rise to fame fast mainly due to his good looks and relatively good acting skills from the onset. His company made a few missteps with the career for sure and what I’ve noted is that as they mostly represent established big artists, 5urprise on a whole was not given media training on how to speak to press and carrying themselves at all. So they are as real as it gets to a 21 year old (then) doing interviews and speaking from what comes first to their thoughts instead of fine-tuning to what is politically right in the industry. Knowing his personality since there was a project I helped in when he when he was younger, I was so angry that his playful off the cuff remarks on ad-libbing was taken out of context and blown into a “diva” status. Reading about his so-called sponsors was even worse as these hardcore venomous netizens who has already driven many entertainers in the past to hurt themselves or suicide was full on at it again after Cheese and they will stoop to nothing to cause death if they could. Angry teenagers who are unpopular and unhappy. Mainly social outcasts who are what Yoo Ah In called, nameless keyboard warriors aiming to take people down probably deriving some sort of twisted self esteem through fielding hate instead. I hope Fantagio will carry through their threat to find out who are those behind that rumor and bring them to the courts. Hope is just hope, knowing that SKJ is still a rookie, in reality I doubt they will eventually follow through with the legal costs and just move on instead. I can’t speak for PHJ but for SKJ, my heart aches for him. P:s - I hope fans will have eyes to see that he maintains strong friendship with artistes from every production he’s been in and theres also a reason why CITT production crew and casts all adore him as well and keep in touch after. Sometimes its not in speaking out in volumes but seeing the little things. and btw this is a nice shoot but I just hope never to see him in that curly hair again reminding me of CITT that brought so much more damage than good.

So true about the keyboard warriors who are social outcasts themselves. Sometimes being an artiste in South Korea is so hard because they are under such scrutiny and netizens blow everything out of proportion.

Are you saying fans have nothing to be angry about when it comes to CITT? Sure, KSJ might not have been personally involved... BUT, there was a legitimate reason to be angry when it came to CITT. It may have been directed at the wrong person (although I doubt it. Most of the anger was rightfully directed at the PD) but I do not think you should dismiss the anger of the viewers as 'venomous netizens'. And in cases like this, it is only human to wonder what happened. Without even reading online comments, and as I watched Baek In Ho gain more screen time, I wondered to myself 'Is this the job of some higher ups trying to get him more popularity?' and then i read comments online and was like 'I knew it! That makes so much sense'. So... do not just dismiss everyone and act like there was no reason to be angry.

I'm not a fanatic by any stretch, and I liked SKJ... but the whole incident with the CITT drama just left a sour taste. Bumping a lead of that caliber AND ruining a beloved story for melo crap from a beta actor is suspect to say the least. I just don't believe that something shady didn't go down and I am very sorry to say I just do not have the same positive feelings towards SKJ anymore. I m not blaming him, I just don't like him as much because I don't believe it was all innocent.

AGAIN, I am not saying SKJ did anything. I don't know so I won't be throwing flaming cocktails at anyone. Something happened behind the scene with that production and it is f*cked up. It ruined a perfectly good drama and the hard work of all involved.

Attention your hate somewhere else. Its not his fault. I know a little about what happened because I did poke into the issue a little with the people in the know. Just know a lot of emotions were involved and it evolved into the whole saga. What they did was not professional for sure but also question why the trigger. I rest my case.

Also - He’s getting jobs not because of “sponsors” but because he’s got a very likable personality, good working etiquette and people actually enjoy working with him. This is the reason why the higher ups favor him and still give him work despite that the media crap he got.

I've been watching him in Law of the Jungle: Tonga lately and I swear, this guy ALWAYS look good even when he's drenched in sweat, his hair matted with dust and seawater or sleep-deprived. It's almost a running joke in the show - how good-looking he is - but not in a demeaning way.

He just got unfortunate with all the scandal surrounding CITT, because I thought SKJ did really well in it. Plus he has such a sweet and pleasant personality irl (albeit a bit spacey lol) so I sincerely wish him all the best in his career. Fighting~!

Okay, I have to comment more on the socks thing, because this is one of my huge pet peeves with current fashion. Personally I hate having any exposed line of skin on my body, just because it feels uncomfortable to me in an OCD way. It also grates on me whenever I see it on anyone else because I'm imagining how uncomfortable it would feel on me. This is only the case when the entire foot is covered and only the ankle is exposed. If more of the leg (as in shorts or skirt) or the foot (as in sandals, ballet flats, &c) is exposed, it doesn't bother me. So that is why this trend drives me nuts. I've also never found ankles remotely sexy, so I'm just kind of like ??? about that. Down with the bare ankles trend! Bring back socks!

(I realize nobody actually cares, I just had to vent my feelings somewhere.)
