[Giveaway] Win a 1-year subscription to watch dramas on Kocowa

We’re always happy to give away free stuff to Beanies, especially when that free stuff is hours and hours (and hours) of drama-watching! We have 10 annual subscriptions to give away to our readers from streaming service Kocowa, which is currently available to everyone in North and South America (sorry, everyone everywhere else in the world!).

Kocowa is a partner of the Big 3 stations in Korea—KBS, MBC, and SBS—so the content you’ll find there is from those three networks, all subbed in English. The shows range from the newest dramas (Mystery Queen 2, Radio Romance, Should We Kiss First, Return) to variety and K-pop music shows (Running Man, Infinite Challenge, Weekly Idol, Inkigayo). Everything is available through the website and the app, and the service is also now available on Chromecast.

To enter, all you have to do is leave a comment down below telling us where you watch your dramas these days. Winners will be chosen at random. We accept no responsibility for the hours that you will spend binge-watching dramas for the next year of your life if you win. Enter at your risk.

Giveaway rules:

  • Leave a comment below telling us where you watch your dramas these days.
  • Make sure to use a registered account on Dramabeans so we can contact you if you win.
  • Giveaway will be open until Monday, March 12, 2018 at 8:00 PM (Pacific Time). Winners will be contacted directly.
  • Reminder: The annual subscription can only be used in North America and South America.

I've watched dramas almost exclusively on Dramafever for a while now, but I'm also currently using Kocowa, because I'm doing their free trial so I can watch Mystery Queen 2 and My Husband, Mr. Oh. I would watch on all three of the major streaming services available in the States (Dramafever, Viki, and Kocowa) if I had the money though. I'm not too picky, lol.

And I just learned from reading other people's comments, that you can watch Kocowa's drama's for free anyway during the first 24 hours after an episode is uploaded to the site. Ah, the follies of a drama addict, lol.

I'm a long-time Viki, DramaFever, and Netflix subscriber. And while I try to avoid it, I confess to streaming from the illegits as well. How else can I watch older dramas and older movies?

I watch where I can find the show(s) of interest. Viki, preferentially, but if not available there, then Youtube, or other streaming sites. (Good luck, everyone!)

I’m on Dramafever and Viki these days. I don’t subscribe to the Kocowa content on Viki as its way too expensive for my taste plus Viki’s subs are way too slow to justify the additional expense. Am I missing Kocowa content? Sure I am! I used to mind it immensely at first. But now I no longer care. I’ve gotten used to watching content from cable channels OCN, JTBC and tVN exclusively. And there’s the occasional drama from other cable channels like Grand Prince also airing and Drama shirts from Naver, so it’s not a bad deal.

Kocowa needs to realize that their attempts to monopolize the market is unrealistic. (They don’t even have a roku channel). Nothing exists in a vacuum. If they take their content away, other options would be made available to fill in the gap.

I did sign on for a free month of Netflix. I marathoned Blood, Woman of Dignity and Prison Playbook. I didn’t care to watch any more kdramas on Netflix so I closed my subscription and went back to my staples: Viki and Dramafever.

These days I'm either Hulu, Netflix, or occasionally a freebie on Viki. I've never even heard of Kocowa, so I'm really excited right now!

I watch dramas usually on the iPad. Sometimes on Chrome. The iPad can be taken anywhere: the treadmill for running, the kitchen for cooking (slower dramas with simple language), curled up in bed. I’m still, stubbornly, not paying more for Vicki. I also watch on Dramafever.

I watch on Viki mostly and bounce around the others depending on where the drama I want to watch is licensed.

Ten years ago, I watched my first K-drama, Boys Over Flowers, on Netflix. Then I discovered Hulu had some K-dramas; I watched a few there. Then I learned about Dramafever and became a subscriber. Once Viki had a Roku channel, I started watching dramas there. These days I rotate through Viki, Dramafever and Netflix to get my fill of K-Dramas.

I watch everywhere I know about where I can find what I want to watch for free. Though I was not very happy with Viki because I can't download the app on to my Kindle. And I find the gun ads on DramaFever terribly off-putting. I'm curious as to a) if they think that this is who watches the shows and b) if this is who watches these shows.

Anyway, I've never heard of Kocowa before though. I'd be interested to check it out.

I mostly watch on Dramafever and occasionally on Viki if Dramafever doesn't have the show I want to watch. Thanks for the chance!

I watch dramas from Dramafever. I don't have premium, so I only watch dramas that are free and also try to find clips on YouTube. Of course, I read recaps for the dramas I can't watch!

I watch my dramas on viki, dramafever, or netflix (on shared friends & family accounts) depending on availability. I've also been loving the recent 'Videos' feature on dramabeans though! It's been giving me quick fixes during my work breaks haha
