Drama viewership ratings for the week of April 19-25, 2021
by SailorJumun
Nearing the end of April, a lot of our shows are wrapping up. It was quite the bumpy road for River Where the Moon Rises, but the drama always managed to bring in decent numbers. River finished off its 20-episode run with 8.3 percent — a pretty good note to end on. Navillera and Vincenzo will be following suit and will end next week.
After Revolutionary Sisters and Vincenzo‘s week off, the dramas came back with their usual high ratings. Taxi Driver continued getting high ratings as well, garnering 16 percent. Joining this time slot was Undercover, a remake of the UK series. The drama premiered on JTBC to 3.5 percent, which I’d say is a very promising start.

As much as we love Nana it is easy to see why SELL YOUR HAUNTED HOUSE has better numbers tan OH MASTER.

Agree. It's a shame, though, as Oh! Master started out light, sweet and fun. With any other OTP it wouldn't have made it this far, but I'm not sure even Nana and LMK can save this one through the end. Reminds me a bit of Black Knight - never could quite figure out how that drama went so incredibly off the rails, but it did and collapsed in a stunning display of imploding pyrotechnics.

Only the very greatest actors can save a show from a bad script (example: Shin Hye-sun and ANGEL'S LAST MISSION). Lee Min-ki and Nana are both very good and might be able to do it but it is a daunting task. There are elements that do work, like the two mothers but the whole Guy in White/Truck of Doom thing was simply stupid- as was the unneeded "love triangle" which was simply an irritating distraction to the story. A good editor would have eliminated these things from the beginning.

What didn't you like about Angel's Last Mission?

There was a terrible inconsistency in the rules of the "Universe" of the story as the writer attempted to meld a Buddhist worldview with a Christian one- which lead to an inconsistent story- everything is immutably fated but somehow fate can be changed after all, etc. The rules kept changing at a whim.
Do not get me wrong- I liked the show and my admiration for Shin Hye-sun only increased with my amazement at how she somehow made the mess work and pulled a good acting performance out of L why she did it.

Very happy to see Haunted House performing so well. It's well-crafted with well-balanced elements, strong performances, moving at a good pace while telling an interesting story and keeping me engaged. I've looked forward to each episode, and hope that continues! Alongside Vincenzo, this is a favorite current watch.

WOW! There is a furious fight going on Wed/Thu - Law school, Mouse and Selling Your Haunting House. Good to see JTBC fighting with KBS and tvN head to head. Since I have been following the other two for a while, i will continue to do so and then take a peek at Law school whenever I have a chance.
