Seeing how Jinxed At First managed to get pretty decent ratings from the start makes me more sad for Love All Play (its predecessor) and their poor ratings :/
People really didn't like it, uh..

They probably never gave it a chance. The show didn't have Big stars.

I blame the directing. The blurry filter and blue colour palette with toned down contrast, made the show look too relaxing and bland.

Literally - a part of me is happy that the new shows I'm liking are landing decent ratings, but then sad that Love All Play never managed to break into 2% even :'( LAP was a little generous with the angst for sure but a solidly written and well acted drama nevertheless (the dip into 0.9% in its last week, or second last week I forgot exactly when, was a little heart breaking.

Hope society Kim Bokjoo's it into a cult favourite down the line at least!

I really could not understand the low ratings for Love All, Play. It was in the same vein as the Twenty Five, Twenty One, with the sport being one focus and the young people’s relationships the other. It reflected the friendships and bromance and was very well acted so I can only assume it was to do with the time/day it was on and maybe because badminton was done so well by Racket Boys it just wasn’t given a fair chance.

I hope the actors are given recognition in the awards season and that there will be high numbers watching after airing.

With rating as low as 0.9%, it will be hard for KBS to select it as one of the contenders.

25, 21 was directed by Jung Ji-Hyun who directed big dramas before, was aired on TVN, they had a lot of promotions and the casting was famous.

Love All Play was kinda the opposite. Drama with young characters don't work well in ratings because the audience who watched on TV is older. Sometimes, they can be recognized by creating buzz with the younger audience. It was the case for Extraordinary You, the whole casting was young and pretty new, they didn't have great ratings but they rated well on most buzzworthy drama during the airing period.

To be honest, this drama wasn't so good neither. The couple was cute in the first half but in the second half was almost boring. The badminton scenes weren't good neither. For that Racket Boys did way better.

It's Beautiful Now finally racking in the ratings of a weekender☺️.
Alchemy of Souls is a competition. That premiere deserves it by the way.

TVN and SBS always becoming the best-performing channel, both in their own category (cable for TVN, public broadcast for SBS).

It looks like things are no longer quite as bunched up on the weekend.

I think that JINXED AT FIRST is in a good time slot and the decent if not spectacular ratings reflect this.

IT'S BEAUTIFUL NOW is finally starting to creep up in the ratings- which makes sense given that we finally have some real heartbreak and conflict. In short- it is finally a true weekender.

ALCHEMY OF SOULS is off to a decent start.
