Brace yourself for an unsatisfactory watch as this drama constantly hints at its potential to be exceptional but fails to deliver. It is actually two distinct top quality dramas that would have survived on their own. The first part of the drama is a hilarious tale of a quirky but intelligent lawyer for the poor and down trodden who wins his cases and exasperates the rookie prosecutor who goes up against him but then is condemned to work for him before she can join the prestigious family law firm. The second half of the drama is a dark tale of corruption within the justice system which allows the rich to buy their way out of trouble and leave the disempowered to take the hit every time. Bringing both half’s together is the lawyer who has the ability to work for good in both contexts however there was an abruptness to the significant tonal shift needed when moving between each of the settings. There are some missing episodes which may have held the elements to smooth out the transitions that would have made this an enjoyable watch but I doubt anything could have pulled that off successfully.

I don’t recommend watching this even if you are a die hard fan of the male lead, whilst he delivers the expected top ranking performance, he was sailing the ship alone.

I rate this as a 6 only because of the potential if it had been two distinct dramas.

It was a 16 episodes drama but why they decided to cut it to 12 episodes during the time when rating like 15%. Still i watch it but drop last 2 episodes as i see it is impossible for them to wrap up well. Wonder what is the rationale to cut tge drama while it was doing so well, run out of funds?

This was a highly watched drama during its entire run so it definitely had its charm but I think that charm was mainly the lead actor rather than the story or its development.

This drama really does feel like two different ideas were combined as if the writer/powers that be behind the scenes liked two premises but couldn't decide which they liked most so they decided to do both.

The tonal shifts can throw one for a loop and have them questioning if they missed something.
As with most humor, it's subjective and to each their own. I found some things funny or chuckle worthy while others fell flat to me.

There's no need to worry about cliffhangers because pretty much everything is tied up with a bow though it may leave you feeling a bit hollow which is weird haha
I say that because how can a complete, happy conclusion still manage to feel incomplete? I don't know but it manages to do it haha

(I once saw a thing where a writer said people don't just want characters to have happy endings, they want them to struggle and go through hardship so the happy ending feels earned. Maybe the hollowness about the finale in particular is it doesn't quite *feel* earned)

I don't think anyone would necessarily regret watching this and it's fine for just something to watch but I wouldn't advise this if you need *more* in your dramas (more pathos, more insight, etc).

it was both the actor and the story at first. I will watch it just for the parts with Min Namgoong in them cause he is worth the watch. I don't usually laugh during a drama but he had me laughing or smiling at the humorous parts. So sad that they miffed it at the end and it did have two very different plots thrown together that DID need more episodes to tie them up but boy, Namgoong you are the BEST! Sure hope you do another one soon and it will be awesome as you are to make up for this one.
