Meet the con artists of tvN’s Delightfully Deceitful

Upcoming tvN drama Delightfully Deceitful airs in less than two weeks, and we finally get a peek at the rest of the cast. Standing on opposing moral grounds are leads Chun Woo-hee (Be Melodramatic) and Kim Dong-wook (King of Pigs) who are playing cold-blooded con artist Lee Ro-woom and empathetic lawyer Han Mu-young, respectively. Despite their differing viewpoints, their past entangles their present, and the two begin a cat and mouse game of justice, vengeance, and murder.

The latest teaser for Delightfully Deceitful follows Ro-woom this time, and the change in perspective highlights a different narrative about a thrilling con against an absolute evil. We also get a glimpse of the rest of the cast, from Ro-woom’s team to her targets.

In the teaser, Mu-young asks Ro-woom what her scam is, and we get a montage of our con artist in her various roles. She tells the audience that they were geniuses born in the gutters who have mastered throwing bait and getting a bite. She continues, “This isn’t a gamble. It’s a con.”

Teaming up with Ro-woom are hacker Jung Da-jung played by Lee Yeon (Duty After School), engineer Nasa played by Yoo Hee-jae (Big Bet), and errand boy Ringo played by Hong Seung-beom (The Heavenly Idol). In the teaser, Da-jung asks Ro-woom if she’ll really do this, to which the latter replies, “Stop making a fuss.”

Also in the teaser are probation officer Go Yo-han, played by Yoon Park (Please Send a Fan Letter), and the big bad Jang Kyung-ja, played by Lee Tae-ran (SKY Castle). The cut to Kyung-ja as Mu-young asks if they looked into his background says a lot about her character, but for Yo-han, his allegiances remain murky as he poses the question, “What if an unlucky person gets a chance?”

The recently released batch of character posters also gives a hint of our colorful cast with Ro-woom being described as the unfeeling genius con artist of a thousand faces with the tagline: “I’ll show you the difference between a lawyer and a con artist.” As for Mu-young, he’s the overly empathetic lawyer who cooperates with a con artist, and his tagline states, “All my choices were because of Lee Ro-woom.”

Yo-han is the mysterious probation officer who believes work is life and life is work. His tagline says, “Persuade me, why should I overlook it for you?” Not featured in the teaser is psychiatrist Mo Jae-in, played by Sojin (Bora! Deborah), who is both the observer and guardian of the prickly and unique. Her tagline reads, “I protect my patients no matter what choices they make.”

Da-jung is described as the hacker with 20 years of experience hidden by the ordinary with the tagline, “Keep this a secret from Ro-woom.” Nasa is the engineer with a screw loose (his nickname means screw in Korean), and his tagline says, “Lee Ro-woom, am I joke?!” Last but not least, Ringo is the multi-talented polyglot whose tagline states, “My life belongs to Lee Ro-woom.”

Directed by Lee Soo-hyun (Shooting Stars) and written by Han Woo-joo, Delightfully Deceitful premieres Monday, May 29 on tvN.

🙋🏼‍♀️ Me! I won't be able to watch both KDWs without getting confused, but this looks super fun. Here's hoping that it comes through on the promo's promise of wittiness along with the suspense.

This seems like it will be really fun. I love a con artist scheming against evil. And those character posters are great! I just finished season 1 of Taxi Driver and am itching for another band of skilled misfits.

Everything about this so far looks great! It’s so cool to have the unfeeling genius character be a woman for a change.

Chun Woo-hee is always good but I always end up dropping Kim Dong-wook's drama. Hopefully, this is his second drama I will finish after Coffee Prince. Dunno that So-jin is here too. She may now be my favourite supporting actress. There is something very memorable the way that she plays her role.

Pleeeease. These posters look good, but the man in the jumpsuit had me scrolling back and taking in a breath because he's so beautiful. Look at that face. The hair. The jumpsuit. The pose. Just, everything.

Also, it's going to be here soon. So excited.
