New teaser for Heartbeat has Taecyeon feeling shy

KBS has been spoiling us with delicious promos for their upcoming fantasy Heartbeat – not that they need to stop – and the newest teaser features an adorable Taecyeon (Blind) along with our pragmatic heroine Won Ji-ahn (If You Wish Upon Me).
Opening with some good ol’ fan service, the teaser begins back in the Joseon era, where an open-shirted Seon Woo-hyul (Taecyeon) yells in frustration: “I want to become human!” As his eyes flash blue for the camera, we return to more modern times when a snazzy suited Woo-hyul flies up to the roof of a building.
In voiceover, a man asks the question of why, and we see our vampire sharing a moment with Joo In-hae (Won Ji-ahn), which curiously fades to a similar scene with Yoon So-hee (Peng), back in Joseon times. Jumping again to present day, our vampire hero takes in the cityscape view at night and gives his melodramatic answer: “Because of love. I want to experience a love that makes my heart beat.”
We then cut to In-hae speaking the cold truth: “That’s not love. That’s obsession.” Woo-hyul hisses at her in response, but his fangs are feeling shy and put a damper on his scare face. Needless to say, In-hae is far from frightened. The teaser then closes as our undead hero tries and fails to fly away.
With production led by PD Lee Hyun-seok (Hello? It’s Me, The King’s Affection) and PD Lee Min-soo (The Stain), along with writers Kim Ha-na and Jung Seung-joo, KBS’s Heartbeat premieres next month on June 26.

Omg that first still is giving straight up 'Scholar Who Walks the Night' vibes! I literally cannot wait for this to air, I don't even care if the plot turns into garbage fire.

HAHA no because lowkey I'm the same 😂 I feel like part of the entertainment that comes with vampire shows is the garbage fire in the plot turns into sometimes/most times!!

I cannot describe my high level of excitement for this show. Why oh why did I view this post and watch the trailer? 😭 it’s those blue eye contacts in the first image that did it. 💗💗
I’m a terrible binge watcher.
I think the wait for all the episodes to drop will induce a mild to mid level heart attack in me. I’m sure I will give into temptation before the final episode airs.

hahaha I know what you mean!! I'm literally also in the same dilemma - I'm so excited to watch and binge watch would be ideal BUT will I withstand the temptation/not die in the process???
Probably not tbh, I'd cave, especially if it gets picked up for recaps on DB and then I can join in on the threads each week!

Gotta give it to Taec, he always chooses interesting projects and doesn’t rely heavily on one genre. I don’t think he is the best at acting but some of his dramas I’ve thoroughly enjoyed (Dream High S1, Bring It On Ghost, Save Me, Vincenzo). And this looks hella fun! Tho, if the don’t play the 2pm Heartbeat song in the promos or in the drama I’m gonna riot! Perfect opportunity I tell you!

Since Underworld, I suppose. And it's not really new to kdramas - ML in Vampire Prosecutor had icy blue eyes in his biting mode too. And LJG's Scholar in certain scenes. Personally I still prefer classic red lenses though.

I love remembering that strange multi-season episodic wonder of a show that posed - but never answered - the ultimate question: Why are vampires all prosecutors?
Although we eventually found some semblance of answer with the sequel - they're not, some of them are also detectives.

According to MyDramaList, he plays a half-blood. So like what some dramas and movies do, a full-blood vampire has red eyes and a half-blood has blue or yellow. That's just my guess from what I've seen.

The teaser looks fun, I wasn't really reassured after the posters and the pictures that looked pretty serious.
I hope it will be light and fun and there is no immortal villain in the story.
