Would You Rather #16

In dramaland, leading ladies often find themselves torn between the love of two equally attractive men — a choice none of us would want to make! But what if you did have to pick between the frustrating lawyer and the adorkable police officer? In this weekly feature, we ask you to make the difficult decisions — and we aren’t limiting our options to dreamy oppas.

Vote via the poll and feel free to use the comments to explain exactly how you were able to choose! So, Beanies:

WOULD YOU RATHER #15 RESULTS

I adore the superhero genre, so last week I thought I’d pit a classic superpower (super strength) against a slightly less conventional power (the ability to see people’s memories). Well, the results are in and the practicality of super strength made it the clear winner, but its triumph was not exactly a landslide (if we compare it to the previous week’s results).

Instead, nearly 40% of Beanies wanted to be “memorist.” @jerrykuvira found the ability to read memories a more fulfilling power because the ability could help people heal from emotional traumas through a “hand-in-hand laser-focused journey.” @diana-hansen had a more observational and scientific reason for choosing to be a memorist, as the ability would allow her to have insight into how people think and process memories. In a similar vein, @britney saw the benefits of being able to preserve the memories of an elderly person whose memory is slipping. While most of you have very wholesome reasons for selecting this power, you were all very aware of how it could also be used for evil.

Being a memorist also has a lot of downsides, too. For example, if you’re like @laurensophie, who easily gets secondhand embarrassment, you might want to steer clear of everyone’s memories from middle and high school and instead pick the power that allows you to put man-splaining gym bros in their place. Ultimately, the practicality of super strength helped it win the poll because even though there weren’t many of you who wanted to play the role of superhero, all of us could use a little more strength in our day-to-day lives, whether you’re bringing in the groceries (@asianromance) or opening pickle jars (@mysterious).

I think the alien would be a more interesting choice.

Do Min Joon over basically anyone and anything. But in general, I’m not into flower boys so I probably wouldn’t even notice I’m living next to one. On the other hand, an alien who’d blow his 400+ yo cover to defend me? No competition lol.

Alien!!!

I have no use for a flower boy.

Imagine all the fun conversations one can have with an alien! Talk about inter galactic travel, life in alien land, their perception of earthlings etc etc. Also, do some star gazing together on my rooftop 😍

If the flower boy is Yoon Shi Yoon this is the easiest question ever :D

But meeting an alien or at least knowing that they really exist has been one of my dreams since childhood.
Anyway, I vote for the flower boy because an alien could be more dangerous, being realistic. And if he is good but he has to leave to return to his planet, what a sad farewell... (A mash-up: if the alien had the looks of YSY then I would vote for the alien... XD).

On the other hand I am paranoid that pretty looking flower boys might actually be serial killers 😅
Atleast with aliens we are sure of their identity.

In K-Dramaland today anybody can be a serial killer 🙈

This is the first would you rather post I can answer immediately. Up till now my answer has been "Neither" every single time.

I have one condition though. The flower boy MUST be Yoon Shi Yoon.

That was my answer too.
Or the alien must be YSY. Anything goes.

No, no aliens for me, thank you! Although I haven't seen YSY as an alien yet! My opinion might change yet!

I voted alien. Once again the exact wording of the question determines my answer. If they had left open the possibility of "flower girl"...

Of course I'm assuming that the "alien" is not one of the Alien / Predator / Duty After School types.

Do Min Joon was too perfect and overall he didn't become old. So I prefer not having a inferioty complex during my whole life. I choose the flower boy.

They'd both be dangerous in their own ways, but I'd take my chances with an alien, I think. There is an overwhelming possibility they'd be a scout ahead of a massive invasion of Earth, and if I got on their good side, maybe I'd get time to hide?
On the other hand, I would definitely love to live down the hall from Yoon Shi Yoon. Maybe Yoon Shi Yoon could be the alien flower boy and I wouldn't have to choose.

I generally go for brains over beauty, so if the alien was smart enough to get here, he's be a tempting choice. On the other hand, I'm also lazy, and dealing with the complications of an alien's existence on earth sounds like work, so the flower boy is my pick.*

* I haven't seen the drama in question but I've heard lots of beanies find that particular flower boy problematic. I'm just looking, and not with binoculars, so I don't have to care about that.

If it was about befriending an alien, I'd be tempted, but simply having one as a neighbor? Nah, with my utterly lacking social skills I'm afraid it'll take ages just to start a casual convo once, so what's even the point? At least with flower boy next door I can enjoy his prettiness every day from afar without huge effort. And if I ever decide to pursue this admiration any further, that'll be because I want to, not because I have no other options. Sounds like a perfect deal to me)))

Flower boy.
Idk, an alien would be like meeting someone from another country or something, different language/culture/values. And that would be GREAT if I was going to interact with them. But I don't talk to my neighbors. Well, I don't talk to anyone! 😆 So what's the point. I probably wouldn't even know they're an alien.
But if my neighbor is a FB at least I'll have a nice view from time to time. The awkward greetings would be worth it.

Same, I do not talk to my neighbours... I very rarely see them, and really found out months later that a man at the end of the corridor has died.
So I'm wondering who is susceptible to listen to the nosiest music, who might organize more parties or move furnitures at odd hours in the night... Maybe the Alien does not want to be noticed and will act as a perfect neighbour.

Omi, good point!
I don't want a really popular (and loud) neighbor. I like my peace and quiet.

Well this time I watched both dramas and My Love From Another Star has a bittersweet ending. Controversial opinion but Do Min-joon was not Kim Soo-hyun’s best performance and Jun Ji-hyun acted circles around him. Cheon Song-yi was iconic and in this scenario, the human is/was far more interesting than the alien.

Whereas Flower Boy Next Door, god I watched it a long time ago, I don’t even remember it much so I can’t say if the ML was problematic or not. He probably was, but hey there have always been worse in kdramaland. Anyway FBND would be my pick, I’m introverted and rarely make friends so having an extroverted neighbour would get me out of shell so…..I pick Yoon Shi-yoon!

Okay, but what if the flower boy is the alien? That’s not outside the realm of possibility. A perfect 2-in-1 deal.

I voted Flower Boy, because the idea of alien that popped in my head was the likes in E.T. Silly of me not to have thought of Do Min-joon when he was even in the poster. I voted too soon.

look, I´m 42. I think. 2023-1981, yes, probably. So, what do I do with a flower boy? I grow flowers myself. An alien is probably closer my age, sort of, unless it is like a bacteria or mold or some sort of crustacean. then I can only say clack-clack-clack!
