Starring IU (Hotel Del Luna) and Park Bo-gum (Record of Youth), the period romance is also in talks with Kim Sun-ho (Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha) for a special guest appearance role. Filming for the series is currently in progress with PD Kim Won-seok (Arthdal Chronicles) at the helm. [Osen (1), (2)]

  • More character posters have arrived for MBC’s upcoming My Dearest, this time featuring Lee Hak-joo (Shadow Detective), Lee Da-in (Alice), and Kim Yoon-woo (Delightfully Deceitful). Headlined by Namgoong Min (One Dollar Lawyer) and Ahn Eun-jin (The Good Bad Mother), the saguek melo premieres next week on August 4 in the weekend slot. [MBC]

  • Im Soo-jung (Melancholia) is becoming Yoo Jae-myung’s (Hometown) daughter for the Korean drama remake of Love Me. • A new trailer has come out for JTBC’s Behind Your Touch as well. But watch out for whiplash as the tone jumps from serious to wacky, with Lee Min-ki (My Liberation Notes) tasking Han Ji-min (Yonder) to get her… hand on all the townsfolk and find the culprit. Also starring Suho (Rich Man), the fantasy rom-com launches on August 12. [JTBC News]

I am always here for Im Soo-jung.

A very interesting actress, who also seems to be super selective about her TV work.

Search WWW and Chicago Typewriter are underrated gems

I like Park Bo-gum and IU but I’ll watch out for You Have Done Well for the great Oh Jung-se. I have always admired his acting prowess, but I guess I’ve officially become a fan.

Less than 2 weeks before Behind Your Touch premiere. 🍑 Yey! ☺️

🪩Doin’ a dancy-dance for the butt drama💃

I mean if the drama’s even half-good, I'll take it.

I mean, I’m sorry (not sorry) to keep laughing at my own jokes here, but I’ve now restarted the video I linked to above like eight times just to see Spike Lee also struggle a bit to keep it together when saying the word “butt.”

No worries, I laughed too just from the sight of the text: Doin’ a dancy-dance for the butt drama. 😂

I'm feeling hopeful for You Have Done Well. I like the leads and the writer, the PDI don't know well enough to say, but with 3 out of 4 the odds are good that this will be well done, right?

1. Huh, interesting. I didn’t expect Kim Seon-ho to make his return with a cameo. I guess he’s going for a slow approach rather than instant exposure. Oh Jung-se is always great. There’s nothing to add except that he always elevates whatever project he’s in, what an exceptional talent.

2. Unbelievably excited! And we got a mane of glory too! (not the weirdly modern-looking bangs i’m ngl).

3. Im Soo-jung and Yoo Jae-myung is a fantastic father-daughter pairing. Whatever else, the acting will be off the charts. Hope the script can match their immense talent.

4. Ji Chang-wook’s recent scripts have been more interesting, which is good to see. I feel like his output in the last couple of years was stagnant and boring. The creator of Misaeng can only portend good things, right? *crosses fingers*

5. Second season? Of an ENA show??!? Come on, do they have nothing better to do???

6. Ooooh kitty!! I’m still deeply skeptical of the premise because kdramas rarely handle consent and bodily autonomy with the seriousness it deserves and this story will almost definitely skirt around those issues as well, but I’m huge fans of both Lee Min-ki and Han Ji-min as actors and I was impressed with the screenwriter’s previous works The Light in Your Eyes and Awl (maybe the only kdrama about labour unionization… ever? highly recommended). Is it too much to hope this can at least be decent? dodges the red flag that is Suho as an actor entirely.

I still have no clue how Behind Your Touch is gonna pull off… well, anything, but I suppose if any team can do it it’s this one? I dunno, my expectations are low! But I’ve seen many of this director’s works and he always seems to pull something interesting out. Hopefully this won’t be his first dud!

I still haven’t seen Awl and really need to get around to it.

About number 1: I'm not sure if this will be Kim Seon-ho's dramaland return or not? I checked back to the other times he was mentioned in the news bites, and it seems like he's "been in talks for" or "has been offered" more main-role stuff, but I haven't heard any confirmation about any of them. It might just depend what ends up airing first? Or if he actually accepted any of those other roles? And strong agree on Oh Jung-se.

News on this particular cameo seems more concrete than all the speculative stories about him accepting a main lead role. I actually think it’s likely that he might have accepted and started filming for a drama as the lead, but his cameo on You Have Done Well will be released first, so chronologically it will be his first post-scandal television appearance.

I am waiting for Aug 12th. I love Ha Ji Min (who does not?) and super excited about my first Lee Min-Ki show.

Unfortunately not. I discovered him literally a few weeks ago. I was intrigued by him enough (though I must say I did not enjoy the raw abandon of that unnecessarily graphic 5Ex scene in the movie) but he was quite compelling in some parts. So I am eager to flow with the August 12 drama.

I talked about Dal-ja’s Spring earlier because I assumed you’d seen his more recent works but now the obvious thing to do is to tell you to actually watch Because This Life is Our First and My Liberation Notes before anything else. Shut Up: Flower Boy Band is an iconic role too.

And for films, Spellbound!!!!!
