A Chicken Nugget crisis with Ryu Seung-ryong and Ahn Jae-hong

The first promos have been freshly dished out for Netflix’s upcoming comedy-fantasy Chicken Nugget, teaming up boss Ryu Seung-ryong (Moving) and intern Ahn Jae-hong (LTNS) in order to save Kim Yoo-jung (My Demon) from becoming someone’s next takeout meal.

That’s right, our beautiful Choi Min-ah – played by Kim Yoo-jung in a special guest appearance – was just being curious about an oddly placed cabinet. But the strange contraption zaps her, turning Min-ah into a saucy piece of dakgangjeong (a sweet and spicy fried chicken dish) – which is our drama’s Korean title.

Panic thus ensues from both dad Choi Sun-man (Ryu Seung-ryong) and his employee Go Baek-joong (Ahn Jae-hong) – who has long been harboring a crush on Min-ah. I love when characters have pun-filled names and my seatbelt is strapped for what looks to be a zany ride with “only the best” dad and the “currently confessing” intern, as they try to screw their heads back on to solve our chicken mystery.

In the teaser, we also get our first glimpse of Jung Ho-yeon (Squid Game), who’ll be making a cameo as a food columnist and will hopefully be a friend for our heroes. Although not yet featured, we can also expect to see Kim Nam-hee (Family – The Unbreakable Bond) and Yang Hyun-min (My Dearest) among others in the supporting cast.

Production for the webtoon adaptation is in the talented hands of filmmaker Lee Byung-heon (Honeysweet, Be Melodramatic) in both writing and directing, who worked with both Ryu Seung-ryong and Ahn Jae-hong on prior projects. Netflix’s new comedy Chicken Nugget will be releasing next month on March 15.

Nay, finding a proper way to express my feelings about the usage of bold colors in this teaser, which do so remind me of Wes Anderson or Playmobil, seems do be impossible. This is all very vexing. 😂
All that’s left to do is comment on all the shouting & hilarious shenanigans, which shall be enjoyed nonetheless.

I loved him in Extreme Job in which your comment of fried chicken reminded me of. "Chicken Nugget" is definitely different from the other great web dramas he has been in, Moving and Kingdom. 😅

Oh! he's been great in so many roles. 😊 I just mentioned Moving because of the obvious similarities. It melted my heart when I read that he got flower bouquets for the actresses playing his wife and daughter in the drama. ❤

I didnt mean anything by it. I just remmebered that he can do comedy and do justice to this drama. He was great in that movie in which Honey Lee and Gong Myung was also in. Have you seen it?

I’m going to go out on a limb and say that @tccolb added a few extra stills of this drama to this post (it seems like there are more than average?), because, well, frankly, it’s pretty hard to believe that these images are happening to our eyes!

I can’t wait, and hope for an absurdity that does not need a serial killer plot, or deep human meaning, any other distraction from the silliness.

I gather though there will be supernatural elements…and fighting… Maybe there will be more connections to Moving than just Ryu Seung-ryong frying chicken, as @seeker notes!

I'm really, really trying not to be as excited about this drama as I was about the Butt Drama, because while many enjoyed BYT, it did not measure up to my expectations of ridiculousness.

BUT ARE YOU SERIOUS? IT'S RAINING, CHICKEN NUGGET!!! 🤣

I remember how much you were looking forward to that show. There is nothing more frustrating than a much anticipated show not meeting expectations. This one has the potential to be either very entertaining or unwatchable.

It really does have something that makes me want to check out at least the first couple of episodes despite it sounding so ridiculous it couldn’t possibly be good.

Another non meat eater here🤗 I have been amazed at what I have been able to watch people eat on dramas. The octopus trying to casually sneak off the plate were the ones that pushed me to the limit😱🤢
