I still loved Park Min-young so much since she was still great for me in this series from the beginning to the end despite of her real-life controversies. Meanwhile, I also loved and totally squeed Na In-woo's acting because that would be his last K-drama before his military enlistment this year. I also felt happy that Oh Yu-ra, whose character was not-appeared-from-webtoon-but-on-webnovel-only, successfully lost and killed in this show and, of course, she was now my favorite villainess of 2024 so far and I felt still a bit disappointed and a little happy for BoA as her own acting after some K-netizens called her a bad acting. Oh, this show was ended with a successful triumph, happy ending because I loved and I truly and totally deserved this best wedding finale scene ever.

I've seen a lot less appealing dramas than Marry My Husband. They could have made it a lot worse, believe me. I really loved that it had heart and it gave this middle aged lady butterflies, which is not easy anymore these days. This is a new drama to put on my favorites list. I feel a little conflicted about the casting, as I have made clear in other posts elsewhere. Again, I can see this great material expanded into a much longer drama where we can more time to breathe and enjoy the side characters stories. You know a drama is good when it gets you to watch one of your least favorite female leads! (as an aspiring wannabe director, I have issues with PMY's acting style ever since City Hunter)

Overall, I thought this was a good adaptation of the webtoon. The writer & director were able to make this show theirs and not just a copy of the webtoon. One of the best moments, to me, was the use of drones during a certain scene. I thought that was a cool touch.

The actors did a very good job especially the antagonists. The actors playing Su Min and Min Hwan were so good at their roles. I think this drama was an example of them flexing their range a little and it made me want them to have other opportunuties to do so. Su Min's actress in particular often had to change her expressions multiple times within scenes and she really captured Sumin's duplicitious nature. Honestly, it's kinda scary haha.

The thing that ruined things for me was BoA's Yura. I may be biased but she really did ruin my interest in the drama; it was just such a decisive change and I just never fully got back into show.

I think the drama can be enjoyed and I think the webtoon can be enjoyed without comparing them.

The revenge/comeuppence was fitting and satisfying for each individual medium (to me).

I think some things were tedious or unneeded but what can you do?

Overall, it's a good watch and I think so many parts will make you feel some kind of way.

This drama is the answer to my prayer to the drama gods.

Funny thing yeah? The past three years of drama watching has been.... some way for me. I watched all the recommended dramas but my heart got burned one way or another (keep in mind, i haven't watched Call it Love, The Matchmakers and Twinkling Watermelon).

Then this drama shows up. It's a drama that the cast and crew obviously loved and cared about so they gave it their time and effort.

It's not the best drama ever, or the best writing or cinematography (btw, the cinematography is good, I love the camera work of this drama and how much it loves its subject 😊), or timing and pace but it had enough to keep me on my toes and make me excited week after week.

Thank you Marry My Husband. The year is already memorable 🥳

I loved the overall feel of the drama too. It suits my aesthetics/story tastes so well. I'm very thankful that they made it to high standards and that I gave it a chance. Def. give a new drama a try in the future especially if it has good word of mouth reviews.

I liked the webtoon and this Show was a very decent adaption. I was loving it for quite a long time, but by the last few episodes I was eager for it to be over. Like so many other dramas commercialism wins over storytelling. This should be a 12 episode run, but so much more lucrative for it to be 16 episodes long.
So overall I enjoyed it, but it overstayed its welcome. Even just 14 episodes is that too much to ask for? Apparently yes....

MMH- would you pull it from the path of a Truck of Doom (ToD) or would you let it get run over? Or in the show's terminology, would you transfer the poisoned chalice of your own deadly fate, or not?
Ultimately I decided it was a show worth saving (!) but not without reservations.

Put it this way, the first 2-4 eps started as a 9/10 for me, but by the end it was down to a 7.5.

The Good:
*Great to see a put-upon protagonist get her mojo back and take control of her own life (and fate)
*The ML was very MANLY in a physical way that was unusual in our puppy filled K-dramas, (nothing against puppies either though!)
* The main love story had strong elements and the 2nd and 3rd romances had great set-ups and potential
* The two main antagonists (the husband and BFF) were really complex and compelling characters. You loved them (well, sometimes felt for them), you hated them, you loved to hate them, etc.
* The 'fantasy' element wasn't overexplained and we weren't bogged down with Rules.

The Bad:
* There wasn't enough push-pull in the OTP to keep the chemistry fully engaging, so by the end it wasn't as satisfying as it could have been
* The 2nd/3rd OTPs were robbed, robbed I tell you, in their endings (only by a little, but enough to annoy me!)
* The Rules of the fantasy fate transfer got quite confusing and boring about 2/3rds of the way through.
* Overall the show dipped at the 2/3rds mark.
* The 'new' antagonist introduced later was incredibly annoying.
* It became harder to fully invest in the FL's goal later in the series when she seemed to become as bad as some of the people she was trying to punish.

Overall, this was a well-made show, with a strong premise, some great performances and a fully-realised (if a tad vanilla) ending.

Worth a watch, but don't be surprised if you have moments of annoyance (especially later in the series).

I liked all the main actors' performances, and was especially impressed by Song Ha-yoon (Soo-min) and Lee Yi-kiyoung (Min-hwan). The multi-faceted relationship between Ji-won and Su-min was particularly fascinating, and they did more with it than the webtoon.

While some scenes felt a bit heavy-handed and obvious at times, and you could spot certain 'reveals' or 'surprises' coming from a mile off, I felt that the series had heart, and I really enjoyed the other female friendships.

I was worried early on that the school bullies-turned-"friends" would get off too lightly, i.e. that the show would allow it seem like their bullying could have been justifiable, but in her last scene (at the wedding) the ringleader of her former tormentors acknowledged how she could never really undo her past treatment of Ji-won.

The occasional use of CGI tears for PMY was kind of weird, though. She brought forth tears just fine on many occasions, so why "enhance" them to the point of uncanny valley?

Overall, it was an easy watch, a bit of a guilty pleasure, and I never felt the urge to give up on the show.
