While the charismatic Lee Je-hoon (Taxi Driver 2) is the star of MBC’s upcoming Chief Detective 1958, that puppy in the newest stills may have just stolen the show in the arms of an also adorable Lee Dong-hwi (Big Bet). With Choi Woo-sung (Melancholia) and Yoon Hyun-soo (A Good Day to Be a Dog) also joining our two Lees, the team will be leading the period-action’s fight against crime come April 19 in the weekend slot. Netflix has finally made headway on the dystopian sci-fi Goodbye Earth, announcing an April 26 release date on the novel adaptation’s first poster. Starring Ahn Eun-jin (My Dearest), Yoo Ah-in (Hellbound), Jeon Sung-woo (The First Responders 2), and Kim Yoon-hye (Shooting Stars), the 12-episode series has PD Kim Jin-min (My Name) at the helm with scripts by Jung Sung-joo (Heard it Through the Grapevine, Secret Love Affair). Ahn Bo-hyun (Flex x Cop) and Lee Sung-min (A Bloody Lucky Day) are reviewing offers to embark on a search for the nation’s holy relics in a new sageuk called God’s Beads (roughly translated). Production is currently in the early stages with PD Jung Dae-yoon (Reborn Rich) attached to direct and writing in the hands of Jung Hyun-min (Nokdu Flower, Jeong Do-jeon). [Sports World]
BIBI (The Worst of Evil) may be turning cop for her next acting project, potentially joining the original dream team – Kim Nam-gil (Song of the Bandits), Kim Sung-kyun (Moving), and Honey Lee (Knight Flower) – in SBS’s The Fiery Priest 2. Filming for the action-comedy’s sequel is expected to begin in April, with Season 1’s PD Park Bo-ram (Through the Darkness) and writer Park Jae-beom (Vincenzo) resuming their posts. [Sports Chosun]

In the meantime, the promos continue on Disney+ with a new packet of stills for the sci-fi thriller Blood Free. We’ve got oodles of photos this week with Perfect Family releasing a bundle as well, giving us our first peek at leads Park Joo-hyun (The Forbidden Marriage), Yoon Se-ah (Sweet Home 2), and Kim Byung-chul (Doctor Cha), in addition to some of our supporting cast and cameos. 2 - even if I was interested initially, after all butcher editing it likely went through, what's even the point?

3 - whoa, that's a lot to unpack here - from premise to cast to writer...

4 - it's been a little too long to keep me properly hyped, esp after the huge disappointment that was VINCENZO in my books, but I love OG cast soo much and BIBI with her KILL BILL aesthetics from MVs will fit right in as long as her role is not too demanding for a newbie.

I wouldnt count on that yet.
Its most likely the production team is just releasing it to fulfill any obligations with netflix and possibly recouping costs.

Welcome back to two of my favorite writers, Jung Sung-joo "Goodbye Earth" paired with one of my favorite PDs Kim Jin-min, aaaaand Yoo Ah-in and Eun-jin. ❤️ ❤️❤️❤️
Finally, we are getting a sageuk from JTBC and my favorite sageuk writer, Jung Hyun-min. I don't know about Ahn Bo-hyun in a sageuk, but Lee Sung-min can carry a whole show.
I'm loving, 2024! Many shows to watch, but very little time.

I don’t know whether or not ABH will do well in a sageuk but costume-wise, they might have a stunner on their hands if they dress him up in that indigo hanbok from the origin story in “See you in my 19th Life”

I don't know if Ahn Bo Hyun will do well in a sageuk, but he has been mesmerizing lately. I'm excited for him to be in new works! And for him to be a drama with the awesome Lee Sung Min plus that PD+writer combo!
