I heard a story somewhere and I remembered that I have watched a Korean drama with such a plot, however I don’t recall which one it was. I don’t even know if it’s a plot or sub-plot. I hope you guys can help me. Here’s the story: A man finds out that his mom has gave birth to him in very young age, so the mom’s parents registered the boy as their own. So his older sister which he adored is actually his mother and the parents are his grandparents.

my first thought was lovers in paris, but iirc only the father/grandfather was around and OP mentioned 'parents/grandparents'
on another note, this is actually quite a common trope in a lot of kdramas haha

Scandalous birth secrets in kdramas? Of course!

I meant this specific topic: grandparents raising the kid as their own while the mother is treated as the sister.
Funny enough, I know birth secrets is kdrama trope but I don't remember any shows with it except Perfect Marriage Revenge haha
Guess that's a perk of not being into melodramas: not having to see this much.
Oh, just remembered Dr. Cha probably also counts as fulfilling the trope.

With the traditionally horrendous treatment of single mothers in SK, that must've been the topic of at least a few shows. I have a vague memory of some serial killer thriller where it was a thing, but cannot remember the title or plot in detail(((

The only one I can think of right now is not even a Korean drama but a Hong Kong drama, “Triumph in the Skies” season 1:
The ML’s parents divorced when he was little, and at the time of the divorce, his mother was pregnant with his younger brother, so she raised the ML’s younger brother telling him that she’s his sister and only reveals to him much later in life that she’s actually his mother and that ML isn’t his nephew but really is his older brother

I mean, this is the story that we have been told about Jack Nicholson's childhood: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jack_Nicholson

A drama that comes to mind is Queen of Ambition. The birth situation was a subplot though. The main plot was a whole other wild ride starring Kwon Sang-woo and Soo Ae.

If it is a drama from the past few years, then I think it is Golden Spoon.

It’s from an Indian drama series of yonder years, very specifically, this one: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kuchh_Jhuki_Palkain and came out in 2002.

With the number of noona romances happening, I shudder to think one day we would be watching 'my girlfriend is my mother'....
Jokes apart, there was an Indian TV drama long back (with terrible casting) and it was a drag. But I think Lovers in Paris was a very highly rated drama. So it is good? Has it aged well?

I have watched it a few years ago and liked it then. However now I don't know how could I watch and end it. It has some very annoying second leads and draggy episodes, so I don't recommend. but I should say that it also has some iconic scenes.

I'm thinking it's either Seo In-guk or Kim Young-kwang ... but then if they were the leads someone might have already figured it out. Its like the drama is on the tip of my tongue or edge of my mind but I can't really put my finger on it. 😅🧐

SIG's drama plot was a little bit different. He fell in love with a woman who could be his sister.

I feel like I've seen that, but the only story along that line I can remember is Andi Mack on the Disney Channel.
