I’ve been really hermitting lately. I mean, even more than usual, if that’s possible. This afternoon I went out for the first time in a week and a half just to see what the neighborhood looked like. The most surprising thing was the huge line of cars at the Krispy Kreme, obeying the letter of the stay-at-home order but not the spirit, or even common sense. Even if you don’t go inside and don’t get near other people, can you really trust that the donuts or the box weren’t contaminated by someone inside? It is possible to spread the virus without having symptoms or knowing you have it. Then if you MUST risk your life to go out and get something to eat, shouldn’t you get something more nutritious? Unless you think donuts are a great last meal.
I keep wondering why the governors keep telling everyone to stay home or adding more restrictions each day, when I thought everyone is already at home. What more can they ask from us? Lo and behold, everyone is in the groceries, fast food restaurants, home improvement stores, anywhere it is still open.
I always say if I die choking, it better be on the best piece of steak ever. A donut wouldn’t be a bad way to go either really. I think out of my list of best last bites none of them would be healthy options…
For my last meal I want the donut-fried chicken sandwich. If you’re going out, go out big!
They keep saying that the virus on food is OK. Meaning if you eat it, it won’t cause you to get sick. You have to get it in your respiratory system to get sick. This makes no sense to me (that doesn’t mean it’s not possibly correct), so I’m with you and not doing take-out.
Even if eating the virus is safe, you still have to touch the donuts & the box with your hands, and that might be dangerous…
…
oh, crap…
…
Now I’m picturing someone scarfing them straight out of the box, like a pig at the trough.

People can’t really seem to stay home for awhile.

My sisters who worked in retail see so many more people in their stores buying odd things rather than watching dramas on netflix.
