You can ask but I’m too biased and angry to explain properly, I’m afraid 😅
To summarize, people had issues with some historical inaccuracies, you can read more about it here 🙂 http://m.koreatimes.co.kr/pages/article.amp.asp?newsIdx=305988
(Though you might have looked it up already by now)
They are apparently going to take a week off and re-write/re-film stuff to change the characters from historical figures to fictional ones and try to edit out all of the Chinese props. I understand why China is such a sensitive subject to Koreans right now though ironically, the props are probably the more historically accurate part of the drama, but I don’t like the precedent this sets. Productions are going to have to be really careful (this one probably should have known better) and writers should just stay away from historical figures. What a mess.
Exactly!! About the precedent, I was thinking the same thing..
Besides, drama writers have been using real historical figures since forever, it’s not a new trend, why the fuss recently?
And also how is this whole thing gonna help anyone in the end?!
Ugh..I better stop before I say some not so nice stuff ><
I think the fuss over the historical figures would have died down like it did for Mr. Queen. It’s just noise. The real furor is over the China stuff, and I’m not Korean so I won’t comment on that except to agree that I don’t see how this is going to help anything.
I don’t like when “offended” people get their way just because they are offended. It’s art. It’s a fantasy drama. Stop. And you are so right about how bad is the precedent…

What part of “fantasy drama” is the part that people don’t get?
