Translation is a thankless job, I know. But this is the first time I am distracted by an otherwise decent translation with the use of inappropriately modern terms : giddy up, snowflake (instead of jade dust), come hither. And just now, ‘toodles’.
I am sorry, but this show became a full blown comedy to me due to the translation. #secretromanticguesthouse
Don’t know if you watch c-dramas but they have the most hilarious subtitles sometimes. Currently watching a xianxia drama where the leads, in full historical attire, say things like “be there or be square” 😅.
The English subs where I watch it always use the term “jade dust”.
As English is not my first language probably I don’t notice that other words are anachronistic.
