I limit the amount of negative shows that I watch–the kind which make world seem bleak place. So Squid Game has never made the cut of being watched. And now there is talk of Season 2. Major FOMO!

My friends are always surprised because this is the only KDrama most of them have watched. And they want to discuss it with me– the only KDrama viewer among them. That never gave me FOMO, although beanie wall is giving me that.

Me too, exactly, about the friends only having seen SG and wanting to discuss it and I’m like 🤷‍♀️

I have not given into it yet. I see that being reflected in my reccos in Netflix, and I am like let us pick up another good romance. 😀

I find it very interesting that same people tell me that romantic shows have made me idealistic, suggesting me to watch shows like squid games in the same moments. Like isn’t it better to be idealistic romantic?

“Romance shows make you too idealistic, watch the deliberately nihilistic cynical and meaningless show instead”????!? My goodness. How awful. Just reading that made me angry on your behalf.
Anything that is Hopeful or points towards Hope is better for sure.

Even I did not like squid game, but I have to agree that the premise was unique. So, unless they go makjang, I doubt if S2 can repeat the huge success of S1.
