So I’ve recently watched the K movie titled Dream starring Park Seo-joon and Lee Ji-eun (IU) and I gotta say, IU was a total scene stealer for me. I could see why she was picked for this role. I’m not sure what was up with PSJ but he seemed to have forgotten how great of an actor he is or something because I felt he was overacting in lots of parts. Or could it be that over the top comedy isn’t for him, he was cringe all the way through. Overall it was a decent movie, could have been better, especially the cuts between each scene seemed very choppy. Some of the side characters’ story-lines were bland as well. If it was a kdrama, then they could have written a better story line for each character.
Expectation management-not doing this is the greatest reason for disappointment and letdown. Sometimes reading reviews and even spoilers are good for this!
I watched it yesterday and loved it. I love IU in fun roles and I think the story was great especially knowing there is a real homeless World Cup. I don’t get how there were so many fit and well built homeless players in the other countries teams even with government sponsorship. I hope they provide a full care package alongside the football as it would be a great programme to have alongside a comprehensive approach that covered the individuals and dealing with the systemic issues that lead to homelessness.

I was looking forward to this one so will do some expectation management and hopefully will then be able to enjoy it as the trailers look great.

It’s a fun watch despite it’s flaws. I think you’ll enjoy it. It’s light hearted for the most part.
